Where did you find Urbanohio????
I joined a few days after founding because I heard about the site on SSP (skyscraperpage).

Cincinnati: Norwood - Cornerstone at Norwood
If the relocation from downtown is going to happen, I'd much rather have it be to Norwood than to Mason or West Chester.

Cincinnati: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
kendall replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentWent down to the first night of Midpoint (a whole two blocks) last night and had a great time. We were only able to catch two bands at Barrelhouse, both were great. What I heard on the sidewalk from other venues made me wish the festival was spread out over two weekends so that one person can catch more than a small fraction of the acts. Sadly, I have to go out of town and can't make it out Friday or Saturday nights. If you are in the Cincinnati area, I can't stress enough how awesome this event is. The vibe down on Main Street is amazing and the music even more so. This is not just a festival with a few cover bands and a Miller Lite stand. www.mpmf.com

Cincinnati: Downtown: Hampton Inn / Homewood Suites (Cincinnati Enquirer Building Redevlopment)
It's a really great location, to be sure. I bet some nice residential could come of it.

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
These business are currently surrounded by empty lots as the buildings around them are demolished. Their buildings aren't architecturally significant. Why don't they just move to another storefront on Calhoun or McMillan and let the project go forward. The completion of the project will help businesses along that stretch immeasurably.

Cincinnati: OTR: North Main Street Discussion
mrCharlie, Shadeau Bread is still here if you're ever in the area. They also do brisk business on weekends. I live a couple stories above them and am a very regular customer.

Forest Park: Forest Fair Mall / Cincinnati Mills Redevelopment
Big as it is, I think Mills has its own niche with all the outlet stores.

Cincinnati: Downtown - Ft. Washington Hotel Renovation
After they painted that first bay window I thought "wow." The renovated Ft. Washington is going to make a big impact on that section of Main. Now if only the Dennison Hotel would go next.

Cincinnati: Historic Photos
Look at the color postcard that of Central Pkwy that's about the 38th image from the top. It shows the boulevard lined with colorful buildings, most at least 5-6 stories. I recognized the American Building, but there are lots of others that do not stand today. I was just asking if that postcard was made from the buildings that actually stood or if it was an artist's rendering of what was to be.

Cincinnati: Historic Photos
Was Central Pkwy ever actually lined by that many tall buildings?

Sprawl = Traffic: Article in "USA Today"
^Amen. From my observation, many people just take these hours of delays in stride. It is, however, a choice, not a requirement. I happily spend close to zero hours stuck in clogged traffic, since the buses I take travel on surface streets that don't really have jams.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Artistry
Vine St. Kroger already offers low prices to OTR residents. The selection is not overwhelming, but they had two brands of Red Wine Vinegar so it's good enough for me.

Cleveland: Case Western Reserve University News & Info
That is simply awesome. I wish UC and the hospitals here in the 'nati would do something similar.

Columbus: Downtown: Highpoint / Columbus Commons
Hooray for reuse!

Metro Columbus: Road & Highway News
I think Kentucky owns the Brent Spence (along with most of the Ohio River at Cinti), and ODOT is a only minority player in its reconstruction.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Artistry
This isn't the "Cincinnati on the Levee" type development that I thought was the plan, but it's a far sight better than a parking lot!
-
Cincinnati: Columbia Tusculum: Columbia Square
Normally I would agree, but once this beast is built there won't be a chance for anything else on the site for decades, most likely. Opportunity cost!

Cincinnati: Conventions and Tourism News & Info
Yeah, "this story" refers to the original post. Otherwise, I would have posted to the actual text. Good to see positive news about Cincinnati in the national news sites.

Cincinnati: Conventions and Tourism News & Info
This story made it to the front page of CNN.com: http://www.cnn.com/2004/TRAVEL/DESTINATIONS/07/28/cincinnati.tourism.ap/index.html

Cincinnati: Clifton - 3412 Clifton Ave
Nearly all of the other mixed use buildings on and near Ludlow are "right smack up against the sidewalk." It seems to be a good formula, because the neighborhood is very lively.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Still no I-75 route, Detroit-Lexington and beyond...
-
Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
That's a completely different diagram than the one on the website I linked to from SSP! And a big improvement!
-
Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Wait... under the plan, Carbondale, IL gets 110 mph and nothing to Columbus? That doesn't make much sense...

Cincinnati: Norwood - Cornerstone at Norwood
Better in Norwood than in Mason or West Chester, for preserving the urban core. There are uglier office buildings out there, to be sure.

Butler County: Development and News
Sure it's better than tract housing on quarter acre lots. But I just can't see past my philosophical differences with what's going on in West Chester to appreciate it. It's all just a fad. After a decade or two, this will be left behind for something shinier.
