  1. Norwood is kinda bland. Give me 12th and OTR :-D
  2. Damn channel 9 website is calling OTR downtown again! Big changes are on the way for one local neighborhood. Ground will be broken tonight for the new School for the Creative and Performing Arts. The new school is going up at 12th and Elm Streets , right across from Music Hall in Downtown Cincinnati. And the $72 million project promises to transform the area.
  3. I don't remember how to do a screen capture but somebody get one before they change the website. It's not even Mt Auburn! Decieving thieves!
  4. Ummmmm, Why does the Mt Auburn place website use the Klotter St vantage point for the photograph? See the busken donut billboard? that is at the corner of central parkway and Linn! Next thing you know they will say this is downtown! Local realtors need to start using a map
  5. Yay lets tear down all the old buildings so we can have garbage strew vacant lots. :whip:
  6. Boycott UDF!! :-D The 312 building sucks, I hope they build another QCS II right in front of them.
  7. There was a rare Yugo convertible on ebay about 2 years ago it sold for about $15,000 it had under 100 miles on it. The only thing I don't like about the train coming up saratoga is that Strohs truck that should be Wiedemann!! who drinks strohs in newport?
  8. Another overlooked fact. People who walk dogs are the eyes and ears of the neighborhood. If we see something that is not right in our hood we can walk slowly, let our dogs sniff the ground take notice and call the cops if needed. Every household that has a healthy Dog in an urban enviornment walks or should at least try to take the dog out 3 times a day. If I were to walk my dog specifically to go to washington Park I will walk OTR for at least 6 blocks.
  9. Then this park wouldn't be right for your dog. I have a social dog who gets along with other dogs just fine. On any given weekend at armleder park there could be more than 30 dogs (I counted) and no problems whatsoever.
  10. It is totally about letting them off the leash. I currently waste fuel and drive all the way out to Otto Arrmleder Park at Lunken airport just so I can let my dog run free a little. You can see the excitement in the dogs eyes and the owners as the leash comes off. It is a social thing too, you see regulars and meet new people every time. Get a dog and you'll see living in the inner city is tough when there is no place to let them loose. This Corgi looks happy, I love it!
  11. Hmm I wonder if they will chase off the Pigeons?? They have acidic waste and are now being investigated for the collapse of the Minneapolis bridge.
  12. I haven't heard much about this project in awhile. Some of you may have never heard of this. She really has some great ideas. http://www.gaiafoundation.net/oasis.htm
  13. Union Square Dog Run! That is exactly what Washington Park needs. I love the size and how it fits into the urban fabric. I would become a volunteer if that were here.
  14. Great pics!! I think you meant Saratoga
  15. Here is a recap of what should be done. 1) $29.95 Max price. 2) No Purple suits 3) Personal cameras allowed. 4) No long safety talk 5) No breathalyzer. If all these are implemented, I will fork over the $ and climb. Then tell everybody how cool it was.
  16. Check out this headline from wlwt.com Cincinnati's channel 5 website. Cincinnati Rated Nation's 3rd Poorest City POSTED: 7:57 pm EDT August 28, 2007
  17. Purple People Bridge Climb Could Be Making A Comeback Contributor: Ian Preuth wcpo.com Last Update: 1:10 pm The Purple People Bridge Climb could be making a comeback. The Enquirer reports the bridge company is looking for another vendor to operate the bridge climb next summer. Its operators are looking to make the bridge a venue for events as well. The climb closed in May due to low attendance.
  18. All the bums all over the US heard that citylink was coming to cincinnati. It would be the biggest social services building in the country. Thanks alot Megachurches and suburbanite-sheeples!
  19. I'm sure people come across money or treasures in some of these old buildings that have not been gutted. A friend of mine found $1000. in the floor of his home all dated from the 1920's-1930's! This is a good incentive to rehab OTR :-)
  20. That shell station is an absolute nightmare. I REFUSE to ever go there. Kids loiter and try to take the gas nozzle out of your hand so you can pay them for filling you up and the air hose nozzle is broken off, (used for smoking crack). The credit card reader never worked so you had to go to the pay window and wait in line with the crazy people. The only good thing is that the owner has told us he will not sell mini test tube flower vases like you can pick up at the short stop market at sycamore and liberty.( also used for smoking crack).
  21. The Shell gas station is going to have a walk-in store built. The new owner is supposedly going to invest over a million dollars in it. I wish the dang thing had never been there in the first place.
  22. I really wish the old Dons crankshaft building hadn't been razed, I don't like to see surface lots. The other biggest eyesores around there are the freestore, crossroads clinic old KFC and the Shell gas station. Those are the only buildings in OTR I wouldn't mind seeing demolished
  23. Are you talking about a swimming pool??
  24. They tore down a really sweet house right by the walker st pathway 1-2 years ago. It had rookwood fireplaces and was in great shape.
  25. I have a kid and a dog and I walk thru OTR everyday with them. The kids I walk past love my dog and it gets me a chance to interact with the locals moreso. I used to take my dog to scpa to run free but won't be able to do that much longer. People who live in the West end , OTR, Prospect Hill, Downtown, would all use the dog park. besides the pools are only open in summer anf half the time the city is trying to shut them down because of the costs involved with running the pools. I think more woman with dogs would walk in OTR alone and later in the day with a dog park. Who is going to mess with a girl with a rottweiler anyway?
