  1. That's a crappy route! The Elm/McMicken/ Race should be the only one mentioned, Enquirer sucks.
  2. It would be nice to have a restored Western Hills Viaduct with Streetcars. I talked with a city engineer and he said it would be at least 10 years before the viaduct would ever get a makeover. The Viaduct was specifically built for streetcars and it could do wonders for Fairmount and queen city area.
  3. Eber did an awesome job with those buildings. Super price for PH living!
  4. Did this guy go on to rehab the Walnut Hills Schoolhouse lofts??? Wow he really killed the Art Deco masterpiece "American Building" in that picture.
  5. "Vintage Club" haha!! Is this where old rich snobs live??
  6. Liberty st needs the same treatment. I like that napkin sketch, I am sure they were drinking Moerlein OTR Ale when they drew it :-D
  7. I don't buy the emergency vehicle bike excuse. I ride my my 2 tiny 10 in wheels at 30 mph on elm past music hall with no problem. Also for those of you who have been to athens there is even a yearly roadrace thru the brick surface hilly streets of downtown called the Ohio University Road Race and Criterium.
  8. I hope the sections of rail thru OTR get the black top removed and expose the pavers underneath, like Elm st in front of Music Hall.
  9. HAHA! West siders are hilarious!
  10. Clowncilmember Leslie Ghiz spearheaded the closing of the Collins ave steps ,you can't walk up to shop in Obryonville AND people that live at the top can no longer walk down. Crowley and Cole were against the closing of collins ave steps and we will let Ghiz know that crap like that doesn't go unnoticed.
  11. Here is the response I got from C3PO-R2D2 about dogs on the square. Blah Blah Blah...I wonder if horse pee has a different chemical balance than dogs? First, we simply follow the rules set by City Ordinance and the City Manager rules. We encourage asking the City Manager's office if this is a rule that could be changed. Second, there are many people who use the Square and are afraid of dogs. Also, even if owners clean up messes, they can't get it all up. Granite is porous and can stain and even hold odors if not cleaned immediately. Finally, even cities like Chicago and NY have public spaces that aren't available to dogs.
  12. I call the cops everytime I see something in my hood. I have 765-1212 on speedial. :-D
  13. Eastgate is the happening place you know, they have go-karts, mini golf and EASTGATE MALL A real shoppers paradise! The food court rocks! Diversity?? you bet! eat at the famed Chinese fast food joint then ride the carousel and barf fried red sweet and sour gooey sauce. I stopped by FS on the way home last night and it was packed. This was after 9 pm.
  14. Oh suburbanites please save us!! Downtown Pins Hopes On New Restaurants CINCINNATI -- City leaders and businesses are pouring big bucks into the downtown area with hopes of revitalizing the city. The goal is to attract suburban families out of the suburbs back to the city. Downtown Cincinnati is refocusing itself to become more of a cutting-edge entertainment district. The goal, said downtown advocate David Ginsburg, is to become a place to go for different kinds of entertainment and different kinds of dining, and a key component to changing the urban core is emphasizing quality restaurants. As another sign of this downtown momentum, a new restaurant will open next week. Cadillac Ranch, on Fifth Street between Vine and Walnut streets, was putting on its finishing touches Friday and will hold its grand opening next Thursday. Following its grand opening, Cadillac Ranch will be open every day for lunch. In addition, right across from Cadillac Ranch, Ocean Air will start serving seafood in February. Sources told News 5 a southwestern-style restaurant will settle into the old Bella space, and a new Starbucks will locate next to the new Fountain Square Graeter’s. The owner of Nicola's said his new Italian bistro, Via Vite, should open on the square in September. Despite the changes, some downtown visitors expressed skepticism. "This area has the potential but I don't know if it'll work out as well,” said Michael Kline of Oakley. As downtown runs more toward restaurant than retail, the hope is more people will make it a regular destination as opposed to just special events. “You come down here, you eat and then it's like, well, it's time to go home," said Beth Miller of Eastgate.
  15. I take my dog to FS all the time. Have never been busted, actually I had no idea there was a ban. There are many dog friendly stores downtown and as long as the leash laws and "pickup after your pet is followed" they should be allowed on the square.
  16. QC should be a tiny bit taller than Carew but not by much.
  17. I am in favor of bringing back the "Horse-Car" That would be sweet! It would cost alot less too.
  18. One of those might have been me!! I wanted to see what was going on down there. I took a few pics.
  19. I love Bluegrass, I go to the comet all the time to get my fix. Pop country sucks and should be at Forest fair mall..
  20. I went to the CAC last monday because I am a freeloader and saw the caddy at the corner. After seeing this I came to the conclusion we need a Ripleys Believe it or Not on the SE corner or some other tacky touristy place thingy. OH GAWD.....! why downtown cincinnati!? Across from the CAC of all places..
  21. They tore out the trees by the blind peoples building??? I hope not!
  22. I cry for this building everytime I drive past....Thanks for ruining this once grand building! It actually looked better vacant with weeds growing around the perimeter.
  23. I also like the greenspace idea. Broadway commons would be the ideal main light rail hub with subway portal just to the west :-) A rehabbed greyhound station and a link to the streetcar line on eggleston.
  24. Keep the sports crap on the river. the area is better handled for parking and big events. I used to live next to PBS for 2 years and it absolutley sucked on gamedays. No parking, area was trashed with litter and urine, people yelling WHO DEY at 5 am etc.
  25. 5 years?????!! Build it now!! Alot of OTR will not survive another 2-3 years
