Cincinnati: Mt. Auburn: Development and News
Maximillian replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionThanks for not tearing it down like some other people 'round these parts would do or would like to do. I like the house before the remodel and after.

The Steps of Cincinnati
Mike, I use those steps, why don't you and your COPS go out and patrol them. Everytime I walk or drive mulberry I see drug use and prostitution in cars. Why don't you just put a gate with a guard booth at both ends of mulberry and every side street. It's funny but all the times I have been on those EVIL steps I have never seen an illegal activity. :x

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Maximillian replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & Construction1619 is a cute house just down the street from findlay market. I almost bought it but it needed a little too much work, over 19 code violations for starters. I have tons of photos of the inside. The garage with 2 tandem spots is what almost sold me, that and the building behind it that came with it. I had big dreams for that little house.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Washington Park
Oh brother here comes the nazis to our hood.. Nazi Group Plans March In Cincinnati Posted By: Richard Chiles A group of self-proclaimed Nazis has scheduled a march through Over-the-Rhine later this month. The same group was implicated in riots in Toledo in 2005. The American National Socialist workers party has been granted a permit for the march April 20 at noon; Adolf Hitler's birthday. The group will march against black crime in Cincinnati, and hold speeches in a local park. Cincinnati police plan to increase patrols for the march.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Why? It's not so bad anymore. I drive that stretch all times day and night. There are cops and sheriffs all over. Heck, Jean Claude van Robert is opening a French Bistro there. The banks to me will always be a big parking lot, kinda like cinergy field was always riverfront stadium. They need to come up with a new name.

Closing the collins ave steps was a bad move!!! Cole and crowley were the only ones to write me back supporting NOT closing the steps. Leslie Jizz sucks!! and I voted for that piece of crap!! :x I can no longer hike the steps which are 2 hikes away in my "Cincinnati steps book" East walnut hills are a bunch of rich snobs, all except riverviewer and a few others here.. Sorry had to vent....

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
Maximillian replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionThe old downtown Mc D's had a huge teen loitering, homeless, truancy crowd. The new location AND being close to govt square is a bad mix. They had better crank up the opera/classical music!

Newport, KY: Ovation
Maximillian replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI don't know, that may be the first roundybout in the state of KY. Can you imagine all the puzzled faces? :-D Edit: http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061226/NEWS0102/612260351/1008/NEWS01 Kentucky doesn't have any true modern roundabouts, though several intersections have similar devices, said Michael Hesse, a project manager with DLZ of Frankfort, which provides architectural, engineering and environmental services

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
I prefer vintage over modern anyday, but I'll take modern over nothing. :-D I forgot to mention in the last post a modern car on display would be nice also but figured it would be much harder to get one. anyway...This is good news about the $$$ for streetcars

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
What is the possibility of having an actual streetcar put on display say in front of music hall etc where people could see what we could have. Somebody here a collector of retired streetcars that would like to donate one for a short time? :-) That would be a great way to keep up the momentum!

Cincinnati Public Schools: Development and News
According to wcpo.com today.. Superintendent Blackwell is recommending that Heberle and Hays Schools be consolidated at the new Hays location in the West End. She also suggests that Washington Park and Rothenberg Elementary Schools be joined together at the current Rothenberg site in the Over-The-Rhine. Washington Park is being redeveloped by 3CDC -- The Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation. Which rothenburg??? vine st elem(rothenburg) is not in OTR so do they mean the rothenurg on mcmicken??

Cincinnati: Mt. Auburn: Development and News
Maximillian replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionYes there are garages right underneath. He doesn't have any buyers yet so you might want to take a peek at the plans they are going to be sold in the 400K range. They have a wonderful view of powerlines at eye level and of the downtown skyline. I was hoping that there would be garages behind the house on corporation alley.

Cincinnati: Mt. Auburn: Development and News
Maximillian replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionSaw the preliminary plans for the new 2 family on liberty hill. It has garages in THE FRONT of the house(on liberty hill) has what looks like pebbles blended in concrete to be in the lower half of the house. Luckily this is just preliminary.
