OTR is starting to look like a prison or shudder, a gated community?? mike, whats up with rothenburg school? renovation has stopped. I know CPS spends like drunken sailors or shore leave but..

Crime stats for Michaels "downtown" living 2006:16 murders, 57 Rapes, 528 robberies ,395 auto thefts. Mt auburn was not included in these #'s but it should be since prospect hill is also considered "downtown" etc. :roll: :-D

Michael, ok so the next time there is a murder or serious crime in OTR, West end you would agree the news media should say that it happened downtown? No wonder the suburbanites are afraid to come to fountain square. Downtown=CBD

Oh no, here we go again on what is "downtown"....I know people percieve the whole basin as downtown..but do you say you live downtown?? Downtown is the CBD not OTR, Mt auburn, mt adams, west end etc.

I'm glad somebody agrees with me. :-D Dear Board Members: Cincinnati Preservation Association (CPA) would like to comment on the design of the proposed Music Hall Garage. We appreciate the difficulty involved in designing an infill building to harmonize with two architectural landmarks of strikingly dissimilar styles and materials. We also are pleased to see that the Odeon/Pipefitters’ Building will be preserved. Nonetheless, we believe the proposed garage design needs more refinement to help it better fit into the surrounding context. The proposed garage is both too bulky and too tall, towering over Music and Memorial halls when it should defer to its neighbors instead. The design is also uninspired and lacking in creativity. Moreover, with the materials available so far, it is difficult to visualize the building’s impact on the streetscape. A more detailed plan, a three-dimensional view and, if possible, an actual building model would be helpful. Before committing to build a garage on this prime site, the City must determine that this is the best way to meet the parking needs of Music Hall, Memorial Hall and the new SCPA. A more creative programming process, with more consultation with stakeholders, would be greatly beneficial. This site is too important to expend without additional study. It deserves the most careful consideration. Sincerely,

For phase #1 I was thinking 2nd st PBS->Freedom cent->GABP->USbank->left on broadway>Lt on 4th->rt on vine->FountainS-> left on liberty->rt on elm->Findlay Mkt->rt on Mcmicken-> Brewery Dist->(Vine-phase 2 station to uptown) ****return trip. Mcmicken-> rt on walnut-Emery theatre >Aronoff-> CAC ->rt on 4th st->left on plum->rt on 3rd left on central->PBS Remember everything ina 1-2 block radius of the line will be helped this covers alot of battleground in OTR

There is room on the east side of the purple people bridge for a streetcar wouldn't this be nice.. My thoughts exactly Cramer. This topic has got me all pumped up about the riverfront, downtown, OTR, uptown and the city in general more than any other project that may happen.
