  1. I forgave her the last election only due to her support of the streetcar. This is the same lady who led the closure of the Collins Ave steps.
  2. The Zoo has a train and a rubber tire shuttle. Look at the line for the train and how many people get on it each time. The train goes in a flat circle and it comes back to the same spot without any other stops. Then look for the rubber tire shuttle. It has many drop off points and hills and serves as transportation from one part of the park to the other. I guarantee the train will be packed or very full and the shuttle (if you can find it or the route) will be nearly empty or "out of service" due to low #'s of riders. This same scenario applies to a streetcar vs a rubber tire trolley. PLUS our streetcar will have many stops to world class destinations, unlike the train at the Zoo.
  3. I have seen the "paint crew" painting over unpainted brick in OTR..."a historical district sin". Crossroads is the same church bringing CITYLINK to the west end. I had church members flick me off as they headed to service at crossroads. I held the sign "Not near our schools". A group of us mainly from Brighton and Klotter picketed for a few weeks about 3 years ago. Glad I didn't go to washington park this weekend!
  4. Thanks Michael! I wonder how many of those $5. SCPA Japanese maples he has snagged in the last week. Another idea floating around is to buy him a bus ticket back to Cleveland.
  5. We have been dealing with R* for the last 4 years. I followed him around a couple of weeks ago for an hour and 15 minutes, waiting for the cops to show up (they never did). I ended up following him from Highland Ave all the way to Race and Green . I am getting sick of calling dispatch and being laughed at. Unfortunately he is a habitual offender that will never stop.
  6. This is the most wanted criminal in Prospect Hill. If you see his sorry ass, call shadowhare since the CPD never does anything about him. Thank you wlwt!!!! http://www.wlwt.com/video/19434801/?taf=cin
  7. Sherman, yup. Is there another good vegan place around here that isn't owned by a cult???
  8. Went to the Loving Cafe in pleasant ridge the other day. good vegan dishes but the Restraunts, Supreme Master Ching Hai, artwork, ideolology and video was hard to swallow.
  9. OTR is a fantastic neighborhood. Hope you can experience it.
  10. http://www.wcpo.com/news/local/story/Homicide-Detectives-Investigating-13th-Street/MD0Pd4Wxa0utHHkL5X6Bbg.cspx 13th and broadway is Pendleton NOT OTR. Dumbass media reports again... Still was a bad day for 13th st. though. Clay St shooting was OTR
  11. I think it's time we call Shadowhare!
  12. Yea, knocking over hotdog and newspaper stands is a "very serious riot" Sure there were a few fires and store windows broken but it was mostly just hoodlums running around. The media totally blew the whole thing out of proportion and OTR suffered for a couple of years. If you guys are afraid to cross central pkwy, I will hold your hand and walk you across. It's not that scary.. geez. You know what scares me?? DOWNTOWN west chester, sharonville
  13. Nope! Guess again. Here is shadowhores lair "Cincinnati premium outlets"
  14. Totally agree! they really screwed the pooch on this one (and every other new school in CPS)
  15. It's hilarious how many OTR, downtowners and prospecthillians I bump into when I'm there. I feel bad about all the C02 I am emitting to get to that darned place. They need to move closer to DT!
  16. Right on! It's unbelievable how much it's changed around the gateway Q. The police need to concentrate on E mcmicken now, that area is screwing up OTR's stats.
  17. The only cool thing about this area is trader joes. period.
  18. Ya, I was totally into Skinny puppy and kmfdm. I was more of a metalhead though, minus the mullet. I vaguely remember going to the Rocky horrow picture show at the fountain square theatre and then finishing off the night at the warehouse. Downtown had it going on! It was much cooler than hanging out at forest fair mall $1. theatre.
  19. The Elm st side is very dissapointing... It's even worse than the whole north side on 12th.
  20. I spent many nights at 1313 vine in the late 80's :evil:There was also a very cool industrial music scene at a (now demolished) building on ruth lyons way where unos is.
  21. http://publictransportation.org/pdf/reports/how_transit_benefits.pdf
  22. Some Coast members were in Oakley the other night trying to get signatures from drunk patrons at 2 am at the Tavern. My buddy called him out in front of other patrons and got some new streetcar supporters as a result. The tactics these anti transit activists use are disgusting.
  23. Even better. "A group of business executives is floating the idea of burying all of Tokyo's elevated highways 60 meters underground. The megaproject also includes a sweeping greening of the space they will leave behind and large-scale redevelopment at key highway ramps". http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nb20080331a1.html Last time I was in Japan I finally got to travel by car on the expressway from Tokyo to Odawara. The Tomei Expressway is the busiest stretch of expressway in Japan. The cool thing about it is that it's 2 lanes wide on each side. Super high tolls keep the vehicles to a minimum.
  24. Happy Earth Day Streetcar Supporters!! Keep up the great work! :-)
  25. Same news as posted by uncle Rando but you got to love the photo that wcpo used for the story... Come on channel 9! you have a better photo than that! :x http://www.wcpo.com/news/local/story/Findlay-Market-To-Have-New-Hours/vQOORUC1zEGX9tjywKTFYw.cspx
