  1. The Ohio book store on main st downtown has a great selection of old and reissue cincinnati books.
  2. I heard satan bought it
  3. I am a proud Mt auburn homeowner and I agree with that! Inwood village is a great idea. There is nothing cooler than standing at the top or bottom of Glencoe and soaking in the beautiful stairstep architecture. The neighborhood is one of the most unique in cincinnati.
  4. When 13th st was blocked crime plummeted :-o I too would not like the gated aspect but hey I don't drive a car much around here. I am an urban walker and the gate wouldn't bother me a bit.(As long as you can get in by walking) without any problems. It might make suburbanites who are considering moving to the city feel safer like the new houses that are being built around mt auburn that you just drive in your garage and shut out the world. but whatever gets people to move into this area I am with it!! For some reason I think that in the early plans there would be no access at the bottom. Don't mess with the steps though or maximillian will become angry :x
  5. Why don't they put a remote control access Gate at the bottom and leave the top gateless. That would solve most of the problems.
  6. Dam! I had my hopes up I could actually breathe in a bar for once. Guess I can wait till May save some $ by not going until it's in full effect.
  7. I should have waited one more day. I smell like a ashtray thanks to the comet!
  8. 442-444 Milton St two-townhouse development has started. The stone wall and land is being leveled. Lets hope this one doesnt end up looking like the new house that was built on milton with the blank concrete foundation totally exposed on 2 sides.
  9. I don't smoke and don't go to bars much because of the smoke. On thursday be sure to support your bar. It is going to be interesting to see what happens in the upcoming months. I will go out to the bars alot more because of the ban though.
  10. Moonpoop Well let's see... New construction in OTR: Shell station, KFC, Crossroads health center, The fugly kroger garage etc. I'm glad there isn't much new construction because so far it is all crap, including the proposed new glass "parking garage" in between 2 gems. I care alot about OTR and look at it as sacred ground so of course I get a little upset when suburbanites want to come into OTR and change it. If I want to see glass buildings I go downtown. :-D When I want to see vinyl siding I go to Mt healthy
  11. Why don't we just make it vinyl siding? Historic Districts have guidelines so that shite doesn't happen.
  12. Am I the only one that is happy the bars have left or are leaving main? :-D I like kaldis still though and support them 100%
  13. The ascent of all places! 32 Busted In N Ky Immigration Raid Reported by: Tom McKee Web produced by: Laura Hornsby Photographed by: 9News First posted: 11/29/2006 10:58:47 AM Last updated: 11/29/2006 12:12:37 PM Update @ 11/29/2006 12:12:37 PM: It appears the people who were arrested at the Home Depot store in Florence, were headed to work at either The Ascent at Roebling or the Northern Kentucky Convention Center, said Tom Sheben with the Boone County Sheriff's Department. "Home Depot was a pickup location where they all got in a van and went to covington," Scheben said. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Original story posted @ 11/29/2006 10:58:47 AM: More than 30 suspected illegal immigrants were rounded up Wednesday morning and arrested at two Northern Kentucky construction sites. Gail Montenegro of ICE, Immigration Control and Enforcement, confirms that the bust is ongoing, with those arrested being taken to the Boone County jail. Tom Sheben with the Boone County Sheriff's Department says the 32 were in Covington and the Home Depot store in Florence. This is the first major immigration-related law enforcement activity in the Tri-state since May, when more than 80 illegal immigrants were arrested. The people arrested in May were working for subcontractors at Fischer Homes construction sites.
  14. I have been to the top of the Tokyo Tower a few years ago. AMAZING views! It was around New Years so visabilty was at it's best. The basin all lit up at night is a sight to see.

I live just north of OTR, and have a dog. I am all for a dog park. Most dog owners I know use The SCPA grass field on Sycamore or drive out to Otto Armledder park near lunken on wooster. I am all for another one though, public or private. Keep us posted! I know many downtowners with dogs.
  16. WTF~! :x This is bad for the entire city of cincinnati and region. I am going to refrain from saying anything else Just when things are looking up for downtown OTR and the city this shite happens.
  17. I agree we have some fantastic new Modern Architecture in OTR. This gem is one of my favorites.
  18. Cramer, A christmas tree melted in the lobby. Smoked Spruce anyone??

I almost got run over by one of those Sidewalk SUV's !! :x
  20. I like glass and steel but it has no right in OTR~! :x I want to see a brick and stone parking garage. Samuel Hannaford is rolling in his grave right now..
  21. 3cdc are the same brand of nuts that decided to locate the new washington park school in the middle of OTR and destroy 22 historic buildings.
  22. I went down to the (waterless fountain) at lunch today, the TV screen was on though and it looks great!
  23. I went down to the square earlier for the first time. There is potential but I really don't like the wasted space over by the 5th3rd tower. landscaping at ground level is not a good idea for when the square is filled with people. My dog enjoyed peeing in the fresh mulch though. Why was the screen turned off? Did it break already? I give it a 7 out of 10 for my first impression.
  24. This is going to be a nightmare during octoberfest... Too many low steps. Trip hazard lawsuits here we come!
