  1. I'll be there tommorow. Sounding Sessions # 1 - The Streetcar Proposal When: Monday, February 02, 2009 Time: 6:00:00 PM - 8:00:00 PM Location: Music Hall - Cincinnati Opera Garrett Board Room Description: Recently, the local Green Party, local chapter of the NAACP, and Green Township officials have come out against the streetcar proposal. On the other hand, the City Council and Mayor Mallory have endorsed it. Other cities are doing it, why can't we? Who's right? Who's wrong? Decide for yourself when Give Back Cincinnati gives you the opportunity to meet and pose your questions to city leaders familiar with the project. We'll provide two opportunities for you to learn more about the streetcar proposal: February 2nd and February 3rd. Both sessions will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Cincinnati Opera Garrett Board Room at Music Hall. http://www.givebackcincinnati.org/v3/events_details.asp?EventID=1296
  2. Hopping on the Obama Train The Obamas and Bidens Will Make a Symbolic Journey by Train From Philadelphia to Washington The incoming president and vice president of the United States won't be arriving at the nation's capital in a private jet or fancy limousine. President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden will arrive in Washington, D.C., via train, making a symbolic "whistle-stop tour" that is reminiscent of past presidents. President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden have chosen a more traditional form of transportation -- the train. 3. Good shots! It was too cold for me, instead I accidentally watched the dropping of the Peach in atlanta online instead of the ball in NYC.... Which gave me this killer idea.... WE NEED A Flying Pig Drop! or Turkey drop?? Somebody take my idea and run with it. I would go down for sure to see that no matter how cold.

  5. They were are all in the same bed together on the jail tax issue. The groups opposing Issue 27 included the Cincinnati NAACP, the Southwestern Ohio Green Party, Cincinnati Progressive Action, C.O.A.S.T., the Libertarian Party and some courageous Democrats and Republicans who took positions contrary to their party establishment http://www.nojailtax.org/
  6. Stopped by today and I am very impressed with the speed of the drilling.
  7. The local AND National Green Party needs a major overhaul or else they should change their name.

  11. (12/18/08): Cincinnati NAACP will Vote on Trolley At General Membership Meeting Tonight (12/18/08) Media Release Cincinnati NAACP The Cincinnati NAACP will vote tonight(12/18/08) at its General Membership Meeting on whether it supports a $200 million trolley. The Cincinnati NAACP is prepared to roll out its first petition for the November 2009 election if the membership approves. The Cincinnati Branch thanks Attorney Christopher Finney <--http://citybeat.wordpress.com/2006/10/03/heimlich%E2%80%99s-mentor-has-cussing-fit/for his legal work on this project. Smitherman says, " The Trolley is just not the financial priority for Cincinnati when most of our 52 neighborhoods struggle to get our streets repaired, to get speed bumps, and economically viable business districts." Yesterday City Council voted to cut funding to fight the Bed Bug epidemic in Cincinnati. This is one example of many public policy decisions yesterday that will hurt children living in the urban core. Yet, City Council sold our gas lights to Duke Energy for $7 million with the intent to use proceeds to build a "Choo Choo" train downtown. The sell of the Gas Lights gave Duke Energy the green light to raise all of our heating rates. The Cincinnati NAACP is confident if passed tonight it will get the needed signatures to place the "Choo Choo" train issue on the ballot. " When you have conflicts of interest like Councilman Bortz serving as Chair of Economic Development and as the legal council for his families development company city council will pass public policy that serves a few interest on the backs of the taxpayer . http://www.naacpcincinnati.org/
  12. OTR Kroger is great, I go there often. Good luck getting a krogers plus card there though, I have been asking about once a month for around a year and they always say they should get some "This Friday" LOL Also, be VERY careful about the advertised savings, I was charged full price on a few items that were supposed to be on sale.(I did use somebody elses kroger plus card). One more thing, check the date on dairy. I bought a 1/2 gallon of Horizon organic 2% milk and got home after realizing it was expired 1 week past the sell-by date. Other than that you should be fine. Would make a great place for a trader joes if Krogers ever goes out of business.

Burrito lovers we need your help. Please contact Chipotle and let them know that their 8 pm closing at the new fountain place location in downtown cincinnati sucks. Everywhere else in the city they close at 10. Here is a reply I got from them about why they close early..... :x http://www.chipotle.com/#flash/speak_comment <---comment here Hello there, and we appreciate you contacting us! I don’t know about all of the other places in the area, but often our restaurants in downtown areas close earlier, because everyone typically leaves the downtown areas after work ends and night falls. But we will consider this for the future, since most definitely we aren’t saying we’d never change this, especially if it seemed to make good, sound fiscal sense to stay open later. We thank you for letting us know your thoughts, and we appreciate your patience with us while we grow to learn the ebbs and flows of proper operating hours for our first downtown Cincinnati location. Sincerely, Joe Stupe Chipotle

  20. A trolley... Holiday Trolley Now Running Downtown Holly Jolly Downtown Trolley (Phyllis Ho, 9News) These days cars and buses are the preferred mode of transportation, but at one time, Cincinnati had trolleys. Today you can take a ride back in time. One passenger 9News met with brought her twin girls along for the ride on the Holly Jolly Downtown Trolley. Nancy Streckfuss of Cincinnati said, "Just riding around to see the different things around Cincinnati. The girls love coming downtown." You can ride the Holly Jolly Downtown Trolley on weekends through Sunday, December 21. Riders board at the Westin Hotel across the street from Fountain Square for a 10 minute loop around downtown Cincinnati with stops at various holiday attractions. Visit the related link for more information and a map of the trolley's route

  23. Only strange now, because of the the surgical demolitions of their former neighbors over the years. They have plenty of room to the west for a new gynasium even though the original intact one is much cooler.
  24. I still vote for it to go east on Mcmicken to Liberty then up Liberty Hill.
  25. Maybe adriaticos will open a new pizza shop there?
