  1. Kay's shoulder was dinged up, so Munchie was starting. Our 2 deep at Defensive end had never played or started a game (until Purdue) and they got beat on so many end arounds of various schemes it was laughable. McClung was also hurt early in the season. Defense is so much better later in the season. D Coordinator moved the ends out more and these are smoking hot right now. I don't even know who the DB coach is but UC has 2 true freshman walk ons playing corner at times, a freshman safety getting snaps, and juco transfer Wilder playing back there also. That coach has done a great job. Some teams are the same throughout the season, some get worse, some get better. UC has gotten better.
  2. Never write off Michigan when it comes to OSU, especially at the Big House. They've had imperfect teams that still ruined perfect seasons for us before. Heck, John Cooper practically turned it into an art form. It's FSU. If it were OSU, the charges would have already been brought and they'd have done a perp walk just to make a media spectacle. At FSU, they'll probably charge the accuser with heresy and attempted sabotage. This isn't a Lloyd Carr Michigan team with NFL locks, higher round draft picks. It seemed that Michigan always had future NFL QB, WRs, RBs during the Carr era. Michigan is averaging about 3.5 yards per rush, OSU is probably closer to 8. Gardner with 11 picks, Miller only 4. Lewan and Schofeld's draft stock is dropping. Their run game is bad. OSU by double digits.
  3. And the Bearcats crack into the Coaches Poll at #25. Harris Poll out soon, should be ranked in the BCS......likely. 1. Alabama (11-0) (1544 points) (56 first-place votes) 2. 4. So when roads are priced at market rates, few want to use them? SHOCKER That isn't what I read in the article. Drivers did not avoid the toll, they didn't take that road (as much as investors hoped for) because of real estate developments that never got off of the ground or failed completely. Driving went down due to a really bad economy.
  5. http://fredandreaseasterneurope2013.wordpress.com/2013/08/30/odessas-sustainable-design-speaking-a-different-language/ Thanks for the link. More importantly, what do you ladies look like over there? LOL
  6. Formerly a women's gymnasium for the university, the Dieterle Vocal Arts Center (DVAC) opened in January 1995 and is home to the Voice, Opera, Choral and Accompanying departments. Facilities include: 19 faculty studios 3 private coaching rooms 2 warm-up rooms 100-seat choral rehearsal room Choral library Nippert Rehearsal Studio Italo Tajo Archive Room The Nippert Rehearsal Studio is a grand opera-scale rehearsal space with dressing rooms and technical support. It doubles as a performance venue for workshops and concerts. DVAC is the result of the gifts of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nippert.
  7. The leasing people for NAP told me construction would start in early 2014, should be a very nice building.
  8. I think thats going to happen. The apartments in the Reserve are very nice and the larger condo building at 4th and Central is pretty cool.
  9. Same here, no expert. I think it might a little costly building-renovating in tight quarters such as Nippert and TUC directly behind. The updated photos don't highlight the interior of individual finished Suites, new restrooms, concessions. All of the suites have been sold, and most of the club seats also. So that is good.
  10. Odessa/Ukrain., was dominated by a communist power for close to a century. When the giant nipple pulls back some neglect is evident. What does this have to do with should the states of feds collect a gas tax in the usa. Tea Party came to be with Obama's crazy stimulus spending and the passing of the train wreck obamacare. I hear that Odessa is a wonderful place to visit.

  12. No the joke would be Fresno who barely beat Rutgers in Fresno. UC and Houston destroyed Rutgers. Up until last season the ACC was 3-13 in BCS Bowl Games. That was the biggest joke ever. I kind of want OSU to sneak in the title game. The Big Ten needs some street cred in the worse way. That conference has 1 outright football Title in the last 43 years, OSU in 2002-03. I don't disagree with you. I meant that the AQ for UC's conference this year is a joke. It isn't that strong, but if UC wins on Saturday the AAC will have 3 ranked teams. Whoever gets the bid is going to be close to #16 BCS ranking. I don't think it is a major injustice.
  13. Anyone volunteer to go out on those balconies that are 500, 1,000' feet up, in the Chicago condo skyscraper building?
  14. Tom Groeschen ‏@TomGroeschen 2m Hearing that #UC football will play the Miami Hurricanes in 2014 in Miami, and at Nippert in 2015 #BEARCATS Tom Groeschen ‏@TomGroeschen 13m UPDATE, Also heard: #UC-Miami Hurricanes game of 2015 (at UC) will NOT be the opener in renovated Nippert. #BEARCATS Going to be interesting to see who UC opens with at Nippert after the renovation. Very glad to see the Hurricanes back on the schedule.
  15. Alabama still has to play @Auburn and then either Mizzou or S. Carolina in the SEC CCG. 2 difficult games. FSU will win out. Baylor has 3 games left @Okie St, @TCU and Texas. Computers will like 2/3 of those games. OSU has Indiana, @Michigan and probably MSU in the Big Ten CCG. Computers will have that about the same as what Baylor has left. Wild stuff.

  17. If UC can beat Houston and Louisville, and if SMU can upset UCF in Dallas then it is possible to probable that UC gets the BCS bowl bid. UCF hosts Rutgers and USF the next 2 weeks, and they should win those.
  18. Loved the domination of Rutgers. When Nova got pressure and threw a pass with his left hand I was laughing so hard dam near had beer running out of my nose.
  19. OK, no need to be silly. Quimbob is the one trolling me. Not silly to want the wasted 500 Million that Solyndra got that would have paid for all of the Downtown and Uptown Streetcar route.
  20. Same deal in Afghanistan, still there, and the grand stimulus spending. Was 1 shovel ready project ever completed? Out comes the WLW voice. Just the opposite, I think the route should be larger. Nice try though.

  22. Too bad there isn't any Solyndra money lying around, that would take care of Uptown route.

UC in the news with interesting items of note. APLU Announces Four Winners of Inaugural Economic Prosperity University Awards Honors Recognize Northern Illinois University, The State University of New York, the University of Cincinnati, and the University of Michigan for their Economic Engagement Efforts. The “Overall” category award, which recognizes an institution that is making connections between all of these university-engaged economic development areas, went to the University of Cincinnati http://www.aplu.org/2013ProsperityAwards The University of Cincinnati is teaming up with the state of Ohio to help fill an estimated 17,000 empty insurance jobs over the next five years. UC officials joined Ohio Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor and Great American Insurance Co. co-president and co-CEO Carl Lindner III to announce the opening of the Carl H. Lindner III Center for Insurance and Risk Management. The university will be offering a new major and minor in insurance and risk management through the center. http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2013/11/13/heres-how-uc-and-great-american-are.html?page=all
  24. The lease is littered with improvements the county is responsible for, if a certain amount of other stadiums get upgrades.
  25. I was at some sort of economic development meeting in mid to late 90's, I forget the name of the woman who worked for the City at that time, and she did a presentation on the banks. The Bengals would have gotten a new stadium with or without Bedinghaus, seemingly every team got a new stadium. Some exceptions are Green Bay and KC. If PDoc wants to give credit to Bedinghaus then he deserves blame for negotiating an awful lease and not building a retractable roof stadium. We could have hosted NCAA Tourney games, Superbowl, Big Ten Championship games, or AAC Championship games etc. Zero income from naming rights also.
