Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
And for many construction projects they could use representation. The bid process might not be inherently different but that doesn't mean they can't improve a ton. Years ago, GSA finally figured out that that their people were awful at building buildings and negotiating leases so they engaged outside representation and they get better deals and better leases. (they keep expanding though and that is an issue).

Yep, but we are talking about politicians who are not experts. Bringing in experts, who represent your best interests, from day 1 makes too much sense.

Cincinnati: Cincinnati Police Facilities
Enquirer has an article about the City planning to build a new police station. Article suggests a potential cost of 23 Million, which boggles my mind. Dan Neyer just bought Holiday Office Park for 2.6 Million, or $7.5 a sq. ft. (Older class B, 350,000 sq. ft.). Jedson Engineering bought Centennial Plaza 1 for 1.2 Million, or $16 per sq. ft (Mid 80's Class A - B +, 75,000 sq. ft.). I know these buildings are not "west" side, but why do you have to build new? There has to be existing buildings the city can acquire and renovate for so much more less than 23 Million, could be office, a former Medical building, or a struggling strip center which is ideal for parking an inexpensive retrofit. Article mentions the need to triple the current district space of 13,400 sq. ft, so that would be at least 40,000 Sq. Ft. A cost of 23 Million is $575 per sq. ft. This is an outrageous cost.

Both of the Centennial Plaza buildings were bought at auction in December. Jedson Engineering is moving their HQ to Centennial Plaza 1 from Milford. They picked that building up for next to nothing.

Miamisburg / Springboro: Austin Landing
February 1, 2013 - BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse will open a new location this year at Austin Landing. "We are pleased to be able to welcome BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse to Austin Landing," said RG President Randy Gunlock. "BJ's is a great restaurant and provides a memorable atmosphere. Personally, my family and I've eaten there many times, and I think the restaurant will be a great addition to the community here at Austin Landing."

Would imagine the City pushed the 5th & Race site over the Plum st lot. The City owns the 5th & Race Site? correct?

First and foremost this building is for dunhumby so they are going to get the floorplates they want. It isn't hard or expensive to off set another bank of elevators to service residential, but it seems that component was axed early on, as to why not sure. Carew Tower is not going to be converted to Residential. Office leases there run for years, doing a conversion it would take years to get a ROI, and the building is 85% leased. Qualls looks like an idiot for running her mouth.

OK good questions. Keep them coming. I know that the Durst Organization is very well thought of will probably give me their best answers. They also built BOA Tower, One Bryant Park which is an amazing building.

Heading up to NYC next week. We will have a small and very exclusive tour of the soon to be completed One WTC building. Luckily the interior elevators are working. Interior photography might still be banned. Are there any questions that you would like me to ask of the Representative/Durst Organization?

Funny Stuff, Marshall Henderson Ole Miss
http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketba...-the-ways- It's of Ole Miss guard Marshall Henderson taunting the Auburn student section, shortly after hitting two game-winning free throws in the final seconds. Watch it about 30 times, then you can truly dive into the analysis. Here are several observations, cycling through all the MVPs of the GIF:

Governor John Kasich
As they probably would against most of the current Big Ten schools. Would be nice to see OSU play in Cincinnati every other year though. OSU was supposed to come back to Cincy but they bought out of that game and moved to CBus, as allowed per the contract. UC football and BBall has probably accomplished more with less than any other D1 program. Even OSU fans would probably agree to that. I just want UC to end up at the big boy table, ACC or Big 12 would be fine.
