Ohio Designated Outdoor Refreshment Areas (DORA / Open Container)
Did they mention F-8 permits? If not that would be a problem for Fountain Square, Findlay Market and Washington Park. (also Krohn Conservatory, but that's not going to happen up there) UC might look at this for football games over on Calhoun.

University of Cincinnati Bearcats Football Discussion
Memphis has to be kicking themselves. They would have an avenue to the Peach Bowl if they would have beat UCLA, they lost 42-35. FWIW if UC and Memphis wins out it is a split title. Both UC and Memphis look really good right now. Memphis coach is going to get offers....maybe Kansas. I would stay put for now.

Same group owns and renovated the nice building at 224 E. 8th st. Cincy. So if it is in NKY it has to be bad, LOL. South Shore is a great building.

Frau Zimpher was told by some of the BOT, get rid of Huggs. The DUI helped, how she handled it was awful. An Irony about Zimpher, when she was President at UWM she had a basketball coach that had a 7% grad rate for players that she didn't fire, Bruce Pearl.

Just party at both, I say. I think you have more students living closer to U Square. You have some Dorms, the 2 larger apartment developments on Calhoun, all the students living in house rentals down the hill from McMillan. Most of the Greek housing is west of Clifton Ave also. I think you can access the U Square garage from another street besides Calhoun. The street closing would only be for a few hours on a Saturday. I like the idea. Have Vendors put up some beer tents, and fire up the grills. Cheers

I disagree, anyone who went to UC after Bub Huggins was fired is typically a fan of the football team. UC was only a basketball school until Huggins was forced out, and UC joined the Big East and had a string of great football coaches. Granted, the typical older alumni might not think much of football, but recent grads do and the number of recent grads is constantly growing. As a more recent grad, I look down upon anyone who graduated from UC but considers themselves an OSU football fan - they just haven't yet realized what they have in town. God bless you younger Alums, you guys have been awesome attending game and the student section at Nippert has been great in recent years. Can't wait to get back to Nippert next season.

UC usually averages 2 non saturday games. They never play on Saturday, lol. PAC 12, Big Ten, SEC, ACC, Big 12 all play non saturday games.

The suites and club area are going to be top shelf. Lots of Glass, club area very open. I bought club seats at PBS for ECU. Have 2 free tickets, regular season tixs for ECU game, free, if anyone wants them. I would gladly use them, send you a PM Very sorry I missed your post. That was a heart attack game last night. Along the football discussion Campus stuff, Well, they were new details to me and I haven't heard them mentioned on this board yet. My friend and I were taking a break from the cold in the club area last night and were watching the broadcast when they showed the renderings for the new stadium. A young woman heard us talking about the new stadium and walked up. She introduced herself, but I forget her name and said she was in development or something and was heavily involved with the new stadium. She had a very official looking ID on a lanyard. So, we talked to her for a few minutes. *I asked her about the east side. I first asked her if there were any renderings/pictures of the East side because I've sure as heck not seen them. She reacted to the question in a way that made me feel like she would like to see them released, but there is something holding that up. So, there are renderings, but obviously they haven't been released. *Since the stairs are gone, I asked how people would get to the upper level on the east side. She said that there will be a skywalk that will connect the Sheakley lawn level with that upper level. *Sheakley lawn is going away and that area will be a big gate for the new Nippert *They're working with Kroger on the South-East of campus to set up tailgating there. They are well aware of the lack of prime tailgating space and are working it. *Here's big news. She said that they are working hard on getting permission to close down Calhoun on game days. They want to turn that stretch into something like a Beale or Bourbon St. before games. Fans could hang out in the street and bounce from bar to bar. That's all I can remember for now. If I think of anything else, I'll post it. http://www.csnbbs.com/thread-712631.html

1) OSU has a trap game next week, a nooner @Minny. 2) What happens of Baylor and/or TCU win out with both at 11-1? Can 12-1 OSU jump them?

Governor John Kasich
Anti sodomy laws, LOL. I am sure GOP types are huddling in dark corners trying to pass those laws on a wholesale level. Is it really asking much too have ID to vote? Although, I guess you can be like the Dem Hamilton County poll worker who voted ??? 18 times in 1 election via absentee. And on to Racial Profiling, are you talking about uber liberal NYC? Do they still have stop and frisk aimed 100% at blacks and hispanics?

Governor John Kasich
Yawn. BS. You distrust government which is not forwarding your ultra conservative agenda. When government says someone can't engage in sexual activity you don't agree with, you're all for it. When government imposes burdens on voting which disproportionately affects segments of the society you don't want voting, you are all for it. When government profiles ethnicities you would prefer not be here in the country, you say go ahead. When the government tells people what they can and can't do or put in their body (as long as it is not a soda or a cigarette), you cheer it on. Save the BS propaganda talking points for a crowd who can't see straight through it. Very mean spirited HTS. Do you have any evidence to support your claims or just throwing bombs at E Rocc?

Cincinnati: Uptown: UC Athletic Facilities
The upper level mid court seats are fine. The reason for the poor design is that UC needed state money to build the place and Ohio required UC to build a multi purpose facility, not a dedicated "Arena". Even the lower level seats are wood and the entire sections fold up like a high school gym. Common areas, concessions, concourses are awful. Looking forward to seeing some plans for the renovation ASAP.

Meeting dating a girl from the gym is similar to the workplace. If it does not end well you still have to see them 3-5 times a week. I dated a girl I met at a gym and she was a total control freak. Luckily when I met her she was in the process of buying a condo that was far enough away from the gym that she would have to find another gym. Then I dumped her, and 15 minutes later she showed up at my house.

Panhandling/Scamming stories
John, the bro homeless dude is kinda of funny, but I read that he might have stolen phones, i pads etc. This guy is a massive east coast name dropper, started with seeking out people who went to his HS and where they go to college, pretty much DC down to Charleston. First thing he does when he gets into someone's apartment is open the fridge and grab a beer. LOL.

Panhandling/Scamming stories
I ignore them. Some are homeless some are professionals and make money doing it. On this topic there is a now famous young homeless guy (due to being a drunk) due to his expertise in being a freeloader. So I was not familiar with this guy until I received an email alert from University of Richmond Police stating " On Feb. 5, 2014 Eric Lannon was reported to have been seen on the campus of the University of Richmond. He has a history of theft and swindling. He manipulates his victims into providing shelter, food, money, and transportation under false pretenses. The University of Richmond Police Department would like to caution community members not to interact with this person, and if he is seen on campus to contact URPD immediately." After a little research Ihttp://www.phantasytour.com/bands/wsp/threads/3500106/any-eric-lannon-updates found this thread: http://phantasytour.com/bands/1/posts?page=1&topic_id=3262895 It is a list of crazy stories about this guy. They all revolve around the same idea of this guy pretending he has lost his phone/wallet then he asks for a ride to your house. He then sleeps on your couch for a week, drinks all your beer, sleeps with your girlfriend, then steals a bunch of stuff before he leaves. It sounds like this guy is from Richmond, so wanted to see what other stories people might have on Eric Lannon http://www.thecollegianur.com/article/2014/02/eric-lannon-regional-scam-artist-hits-richmond http://rvamag.com/articles/full/22948/meet-the-hippy-frat-douche-whos-scamming-1er-east-coast-jam-bros

I don't want to do anything. Facebook likes really? That is the scientific data being used here, lol. Ask any OSU fan where they have the smallest base of fans in the state and they will tell SW Ohio, and then secondly NW Ohio around Toledo where there is a base of Michigan fans.

Varosha, Cyprus abandoned 1974
The few who have managed to sneak in to Varosha in the years after invasion, as well as Turkish Cypriots who did military service there, say they witnessed a place that felt like a Hollywood set. Okan Dagli, a Turkish Cypriot from Famagusta who saw the area when he served in the army, said it felt like a dystopia. “Everything was looted and crumbling,” Mr. Dagli said. “It was as if time had stopped. It was both very sad and very disturbing.” http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/03/world/europe/cyprus-resort-varosha-remains-sealed-off-to-visitors.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
