  1. It's actually in one of the Triangle apartment buildings and yes, it was expedited in anticipation of the Triangle office building's demolition, scheduled to begin this month!
  2. I have an idea: stop changing the timetable for the #26 every three months and you'll save a load of money on printing! Honestly, I'd hate to know what they spend on all these quarterly updates. It's not like they run on a schedule anyways... Yes, I'm grumpy about my bus service lately.
  3. If it's anything like last time, they'll post it on their website. I was on an email list, though. They are looking for a development team to develop the first 6.8 acres of the North Campus neighborhood project.
  4. Revised RFP issued today... scaled down into phases. Phase 1 is concentrated on Chester, between E. 21 and E. 24, including the Theater Arts building. Unfortunately, the Doan building is now available for demo if need be.
  5. The Reference Lab was planned for the NE corner of Cedar/E.105 and is now up in the air. For all I know, the EE building location at the SW corner of Carnegie/E.105 is the new spot. The OCPM/Carnegie Medical Building was not under consideration to my knowledge. Keep in mind, as well, that the Opportunity Corridor will be hitting the Circle here and the landscape could change somewhat significantly as a result.
  6. I was disappointed to see the old sign go as well. MTS, you seem to have a "how hot is hot" thing going on here!
  7. Indeed. It's like they replaced the old, square bunker with a new, round bunker!
  8. Uh oh... Runway Battle!
  9. ^This is exactly what my reaction was when I read about the lack of auditorium space in the "dungeon." Yet, no mention of John Hay, the $33 million renovation that was completed in 2006, or the unified campus. How come this doesn't suffice for their needs? I am VERY disappointed that they've already arrived at this conclusion.
  10. Wasn't the Runway in Tower City before?
  11. Whatever happens here will have to go through design review and they're nowhere near that yet. If they want to put in surface parking, I'm assuming they'll need a zoning variance, which requires support from the City, CDC, etc.
  12. where is this in the overall plan?
  13. damnit! I must've had my nose in the newspaper when I went by this morning. That stretch of Superior, while being entirely too wide, has some really nice urban form. The north side of the street is a little patchy, but it sounds like it's only getting worse!
  14. Just one additional note from me, as I'm not really that familiar with the details of this restoration - I know that the National Park Service, who administers the Federal Historic Tax Credit Program, is a real sticker for details. I would imagine that K&D had to demonstrate that what they were doing would be the most beneficial to the historic character, integrity & durability of this structure. So, it may not be what we would prescribe, but it was highly scrutinized and it would be unfair to call it "cutting corners." I give massive props to K&D for their work on this project!
  15. Glad to hear about Club Isabella; it had eluded my radar thus far. I hope that 32nd & Lorain demo is just the warehouse. Does anyone know what ever happened to the form-based zoning that was being explored for Lorain & Detroit in Ohio City? I've gone past the 6601 buildings a couple times in the past week and I'm not sure if the front building is being demoed. Anyone have any more info on that?
  16. Progress! And somehow, even with all that extra pavement, and far fewer buildings, it's still a hellacious intersection for vehicular traffic. And pedestrians? Yikes...
  17. I was walking the district last night and did not see said camera. Where did you see this?

great post... and agreed with most everything written after the photos!
  19. what in the sam hell is up with all those AMC Pacers???
  20. I was wondering what that little "coming soon" card was in my gift bag!
  21. Great set... very classy. Is that the Cozad-Bates House I see with the crooked roof line?
  22. went last night. the crowd, the vibe, the movies... all fabulous!
  23. I do the walk up 65th from the rapid multiple times each week and I like it. It's got lots of promise, but it's not dicey and has a number of nice buildings on it. Decent amount of traffic and "eyes on the street." I concur that it's about a 10-minute walk to Gordon Square. And yes, the 65th street tunnel to edgewater is a delight!
  24. Ok, in honor of tonight's big opening: The Capitol Theatre marquee from the day it was installed (?)
  25. My camera's busted. I took pictures last weekend, but I can't get them off the memory card! (if anyone has any ideas, please PM me). As for Toast, they were putting up a banner this evening on the side of the building. I dropped the ball, though, and didn't even ask them when they were opening!
