  1. As some of you may know, I host a radio show on Cleveland State radio (89.3 WCSB) every Monday morning (see the signature if you don't!). This is a great joy to me, in part, because it is a way that I can share the music I love with friends across the country through our live webstream at wcsb.org. Unfortunately, our ability to broadcast in this way is in jeopardy. Please read the summary at www.wcsb.org for more details on this and write your representatives to tell them how you feel! Thanks... Map Boy.. AKA Douglass Hagan
  2. Is that article available on line? I couldn't find it in the Sun section of Cleveland.com...
  3. Wow! I didn't know it would be opened already! Fantastic! How about the veggie options?
  4. I've never seen so many puns in one story... I just hope this guy's business doesn't tank!

Agreed...this is great news! Will the facilities be visible from Wendy Park or from Lakeview or West Bank?
  6. It's gotta be the f*ed up building...rankings have dropped ever since! Maybe they should've spent more money on programs and faculty and less on the heap o' gehry.
  7. ^is this imminent or just the plan? the restaurant idea was the plan from the beginning, so I'd be happy to hear if they found an operator!
  8. This could tie in well with the proposed Upper Chester initiative as well. By the way, the demo and other murmurs about Madonna Hall were discussed on the "Various Demolitions" thread... Thanks for the update Guv!
  9. ^Are you kidding? (if so, i guess i needed an emoticon) 8 shows equal about 8 full months of shows with a total 4 months of down time for set-making, etc. throughout the year. Basically, they'll be making far better use of their venue than the Jake or Cleveland Browns Stadium, for example.
  10. Having a few ground floor retail or office tenants would do wonders for the "eyes on the street" in this growing neighborhood and could help to reduce theft, vandalism, etc. and improve safety over all. If there's no accommodation made for this throughout the development, especially on the Flats level, the situation will be that much more likely to remain the same, regardless of the many hundred residents living upstairs.
  11. That website sucks. What the hell is that woman wearing?

And no mention in this article of the prior "piss on Cleveland" news about jobs going to Indy? What's up?
  13. This certainly validates developing at least 100,000 square feet of cigarette retailers in surrounding counties. Now I can get behind that new interchange in Avon and the big retail development in Boston Heights!
  14. ^Ummm... I think the Colts will win, so I'm rooting for the Bears.

I thought the whole idea of the BRAC was to save money... I would gather that it's a rare day when Dennis is aligning himself with a majority of Republicans on an issue.
  16. wow, bold initiatives indeed! good for Sanders going big and proposing these progressive changes.
  17. It's still listed as a 3-family building, though. I guess it was 3 one-bedroom apartments. I can't imagine it remaining that way.
  18. Sold for $97,500. Jealous?

Whatever the phase or store, that color scheme just makes me wanna buy electronics!
  21. what? you talking about the bedroom? if so, put this in your pipe and smoke it: the door to the bedroom/retail space is RED!
  22. Oooookay! Back to Ohio City... Last night, I was walking around with my lover around 8:30 and was pleased to find that: -Kimo's Sushi had at least 3 tables occupied! -Progress on the neighboring commercial space is proceeding (looks like a salon/barber) -Johnny Mango's was PACKED!!! About 3 parties waiting for tables and two delivery guys from Deliver Me Food waiting for orders from elsewhere. This morning, while walking with my pooch, I noticed that the rehab of the house on the corner of W. 38th & Whitman is finished and is being marketed with its restored 19th Century storefront, which I'm 99% certain is just a bedroom. Also, the house across from Heck's (W. 30th & Bridge) that has been boarded up for quite some time now has a "sold" sign on it.
  23. I'm no roundabouts expert, but my roundabout expert friends have criticized this particular roundabout for being too small. Maybe this will be a working example of how small roundabouts are actually functional!
  24. Sweet! This will probably be the venue I frequent most often... very exciting!
  25. If you're a Tribe fan, you can't help but feel good about this year's starting 5 and the prospects in the pipeline.
