emotional problems, staph infections, I think one of the Browns actually got pregnant...it all happened to us this year!
  2. Nope...camera battery was dead and I forgot to charge it! I was kicking myself all day...

They'll likely have at least double that in a week after their open house and reception have done their magic!
  4. I jogged down the Viaduct this morning with my pup and scoped out the Plaza from the bridge for the first time in a while...it's looking amazing! I can't wait for these windows to be all lit up!
  5. Was disappointed to find that bowling was still $35/hour on a Sunday afternoon at Corner Alley...the lanes were still pretty active, despite this, but it was too rich for my blood! My gang went to Flannery's for a round and I scoped out the new windows across E. 4th in the ground floor of the Sincere Building. Much like the ones in the Corner Alley space did at first, these look rather cheaply done. We'll see how they shape up as work progresses! Lots of people walking around and the Exhibit Cleveland storefronts (3 or 4 on E. 4th, plus the May Co. Building) continue to shine at all hours. Kudos!

Great release! I got to tour the building and the model unit today. There were quite a few people, young and old, checking the place out. I was very impressed with the model unit, which was upgraded to the nines. At 1,279 sq ft, the price for this second floor corner unit would've been well over $300k. As they're currently listed, there's only one under $200k and that's a 556 sq ft one bedroom on the third floor. The bay windows are amazing and the sound of the street is effectively blocked out. On the upper floors, which are still cut up into offices with gross carpet and paneled walls, you can still hear the street below. Some of the glass office doors on the upper floors were still intact. AIA and the Audubon Society were amongst the past tenants whose names were visible. Swetland Investments still looks to have an office on the 9th floor...curious. The potential for this building is amazing and I have no doubt that it will sell quite quickly. The views and location are clearly its best assets. I'm still a little confused about the garage space in the Southworth Building. From the floor plans, it looks like parking will be on one subterranean level and one above ground level. The main vehicular entry will be from 1st street, just east of the building, but there appears to be a garage entry on Ontario as well, while storefronts are still marked out in the plans. I'm not sure if these will just be facades or if the actual retail spaces will be retained. I would think that getting a curb cut on this part of Ontario would be a difficult proposition. The realtor in the model unit didn't know. Anyone else figure this one out? Congrats to Howells! She's a beauty!
  7. Spent a few hours at Gypsy today...they did a great job with that space and it needed a TON of work! It is spacious, yet cozy, with great windows on Detroit that I just couldn't stop gazing out of. Like Ewoops said, you can see the Capitol Theater, the Gordon Square Arcade, and the buildings across the street, east of 65th. I overheard another customer talking about leasing the vacant space across the street and others coming in and congratulating the owner, asking about the neighborhood. I had some great organic green tea and delicious mac n' cheese. The baked stuff looked great...everything from cookies to baguettes to take home. What a great vibe and a fantastic addition to the neighborhood! Congrats to Ms. Gillota!
  8. Nice work X! You nailed 'em both! Rumor has it that an old Euc' owner has either repurchased the bar or is thinking about it... Someone was going in and out of it while I was taking pics! Not a bad idea, if you ask me. Especially considering the lack of bar options in the neighborhood and the prospects of having 500+ new residents living a couple blocks away. Add to that the recent addition of the dorms Village at 115, just down E. 116th from the bar, which is predominantly upperclassmen. That's a drinking demographic if I've ever heard of one!
  9. Glad to hear AIA is actually asserting itself a little bit!

They've got interior photos up on PURE's website...very nice!
  11. We had a number of disabled, wheelchair-bound residents who attended an ECTP meeting we had over in University Circle in September. They voiced concerns, and rightly so, over accessibility during construction. If it's hard for those of us who have two good legs, imagine trying to navigate Euclid right now if you didn't!

wow, fantastic shots! thanks for sharing!
  13. ^Oh, right! I knew I knew that!
  14. Kudos to University Circle and everyone who played a part in seeing this through! Thursday, January 04, 2007 City Council creates design review district for University Circle 5:50 p.m. By Steven Litt Plain Dealer Architecture Critic The public will soon have a say over architectural plans in University Circle. In one of the last pieces of legislation passed in 2006, City Council created a public design review district for University Circle, Cleveland’s fastest-growing area. The legislation means that for the first time, institutions and developers in the city’s cultural and educational hub, will be required to share construction plans with the public and respond to critiques before obtaining a building permit. The district becomes effective Jan. 20... more at: http://www.cleveland.com
  15. Which one is that? As exciting as a high rise in the Flats is, it won't have the views that a high rise up the hill in Downtown would have. Then again, some of the feature views in the Flats (river, bridges, etc.) would not be available to someone living in a high rise around E. 12th.
  16. You tease! You'd better give us more details in the Stonebridge section!
  17. That's the word. Our source said he was actively trying to find another restaurateur to occupy the space...Melt II?
  18. I hear Mulder wouldn't be ready until June, so we'd have a few months to see who was pitching well and who needs an adjustment. If all goes well, we'll have TOO MANY good starters! I'd love to have that problem!
  19. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I heard that Parker's (W. 28th & Bridge) is either closing or has already closed. Don't know anything about the future of the space, but apparently the owner wanted to do something more along the lines of a farmer's market or something like that. Bummer, too. It was a great spot and if I could've afforded it, I would've gone more often!
  20. side note: I overheard Lola's Michael Symon about a week ago saying that their first few months have done far better than anticipated, giving them a comfy cushion heading into the slow winter months. Kudos to Symon, Lola, MRN, and Cleveland!
  21. I got my information from an UO poster, so I'll let him correct me if I mis-spoke. My impression, though, was that this three-penthouse combo was part of the pre-sales numbers that we are already familiar with.
  22. you totally photoshopped that...
  23. A "little birdie" told me that three of the penthouse sales in the first loft building went to a single buyer for well over $3 million! Chew on that!
