  1. Wow, screw Trash to Treasure... you should host your own show!
  2. well, we already knew that, now didn't we?
  3. Hmmm...can't say I'm surprised. This just means more market share for Fantasy One!
  4. Ha! You may be right, but come on, no impact whatsoever?
  5. It was brought to my attention a couple days ago that the port relocation has a rather large tie-in to the Lakefront West plans and investment. No one's really talking about this...how will the massive shift in port & industrial traffic be acommodated west of the river? This may be a different thread. I'm sorry to have missed most of the forum (I got to listen to some of it online), but I knew I could count on you lot to keep me up-to-date!
  6. Wow! Go Bapez & Moshe!
  7. frickin awesome...thanks Musky!
  8. Voila! No one else is as dedicated to this thread as we are... [sniff sniff]
  9. I was a little concerned when Schipper said at a recent meeting that they'd be doing the other three quadrants next year. I really hope they can pull it off, but I have a right to be skeptical! Oh, right, Pesht... Ummm...well, a West Side Transit Center could affect the project. Anyone hearing any murmurs about this lately? Someone mentioned the southeast corner of Prospect & Superior (on top of FC's garage) as an option, but this was just speculation. I really doubt Stark wants the transit center located in his project...
  10. sheesh! it's about time! were you holding out?
  11. sweet! that one had been bugging me for some time! still, no one's gotten my #1 from above... I thought it'd be a cinch! any takers?

So sad. They're still saving the park on Houston, though, right? With the big evergreen?
  13. MayDay's #31: is it Calvary on Euclid, just west of the Clinic?
  14. Sweet! When and where and why? Cleveland or NYC?
  15. Very nice B12! Any word on progress with the rest of the site? I remember last year that developers at CitiRama were concerned that there was a lack of developable parcels in good clusters near the festical site. Not a problem over here!
  16. I've RSVP'd, but may not be able to make it. I'm glad to hear that others will be there to cover for UO, though!
  17. More cranes in the air, but again nothing about a sidewalk level presence...
  18. I've got an article I've been meaning to post on this... they're doing the parking structure first and will use the Lee Road site for temporary parking until the structure is complete. Once the parking garage is operational, they'll be starting on the mixed-use building.
  19. WOW! WRL needs to get more commissions in this town. That's groundbreaking stuff! I love it!
  20. I'm happy to say that I knew a lot of those places in NYC. It must've been quite the task to pick the top ten, though! I lived on the other side of the block (South Oxford) from #1 for 3 years. They were always filming on our streets...the ideal Brooklyn brownstone blocks. For Cleveland, Jay Avenue, between W. 28th & W. 30th has been one of my faves since high school days. Sure enough, that's where I moved after Brooklyn! Others include Hessler Road, off of Ford Drive and E. 36th, north of Superior, which runs through Tyler Village. There are many more!
  21. Good point Shades. We shall see!
  22. CMHA 'green' building to save energy, money Grant Segall, Plain Dealer Reporter Braving the lakefront wind atop a high-rise, officials announced plans to turn the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority green. Green as in conservation, and green as in money. On the roof of a 19-story building at Lakeview Terrace, CMHA Executive Director George A. Phillips said a 12-year contract for energy conservation would save about $4 million per year for the authority and additional money for the tenants, who pay for their utilities on a sliding scale. more at: http://www.cleveland.com
  23. Oooh, got 'em! Love the Lexis-Nexis! Both from the October 11th PD: Basketball court, golf center The Ohio City community gained an outdoor basketball court and golf-learning center through a cooperative effort by Saint Ignatius High School, the Arrupe Neighborhood Partnership and Trinity Lutheran Church. The recreation area on West 29th Street off of Lorain Avenue includes an $18,000 golf center, with a three-station driving range, and the $30,000 full-size basketball court. Cement Masons Local 404; Laborers Local 310; local construction, design and supply companies; and the Browns made the area possible.
  24. In regard to coordinating retail developments, I'd leave Zaremba out of the conversation. The Avenue District is a different neighborhood and will be shooting for neighborhood retail, not big anchors like Wolstein & Stark. Although, if Borders said they wanted to open a store over there, I get the feeling that Zaremba wouldn't push 'em away! And yes, I hope they're communicating, but in the end, what retailers will see is that there are several major Downtown developments that they can choose to be a part of. The number of housing units being built will encourage them to choose one, where they may not have even been considering Downtown Cleveland previously. This Shaia news is surprising. I figured they had the best shot in the trial. And there's was the only one that I really had any mixed feelings about. I hope they worked something out too, because I would hate to see Wolstein's vision of a parking lot there. Again, the question of why the development agreement must be set in stone with matters like this is one I don't understand.
  25. Anyone see the two news blurbs in yesterday's PD that pertain to the OC? One was about St. Ignatius building a community park with a driving range and basketball court and the other was about CMHA installing green roofs on top of Riverview Towers, which will save them millions each year. Nice!
