Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
too bad it's so rainy out! I went by last night and didn't see anything on the E. 12th & St. Clair block, but saw a trailer on the Superior block...

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
as some of the previous posts allude to, this is a temporary plan for a highly developable piece of land. with the pending decision by the RTA about where to locate/rebuild the rapid station, this land could be needed or could become an even more marketable development possibility. trust me, no one in my camp wants this to stay a parking lot!

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I live a few blocks away near 30th & Jay and I choose to walk over in this direction most days and nights when my girl & I take our puppy for walks. It's attractive at present and is very close to the recently rebuilt Fairview Park, but it's also just exciting to see all the new stuff happening (mentioned above). And you can see the lake from most of the cross streets! It's still within walking distance from the West Side Market & Dave's, has good transit options on Detroit or further down on Bridge & Lorain & W. 25th, and is very convenient to the lake and the growing Gordon Square. And I've never once felt threatened over there...or anywhere in the OC for that matter. Sure, I'd recommend accompanying your ladyfriend on night-time walks, but that's the same anywhere...suburb or city.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
This may be the result of the ADA audits that are ongoing as the project proceeds. According to Mike Schipper at RTA, this is the only spot thus far that has needed a rebuild. They missed compliance by like an inch or something. And yes, it's important that they get it right! We just had a meeting over here in University Circle about project updates and it appears that we're going to see construction from E. 107th to the bridge at E. 120th starting in February and finished by December 2007.

Great punch at the end KJP! And a great article all around!

Cleveland: Bob Stark Warehouse District Project
I'd love to believe it too, but the likelihood of all of these projects being inhabited in 3 years, let alone off the ground, is not great. I like that Cimperman is optimistic and thinking big, but he can't be completely serious... Did he just say this to you or to an audience?

Cleveland Cultural Gardens adding Indian Garden
This is fantastic! I can't wait to see this completed. Both are moving along steadily! And yes, we're waiting for the African American garden to get back on track. Materials are ready and waiting to be brought to the site!

Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
Well, if Euclid Avenue could pass for NYC, it should be able to pass for Cleveland, right? Seriously, though, a lot of the locations depicted in the graphic novel (which is superb, by the way) still exist. The arcades, for one. City Hall, the County Courthouse. Does the original coroner's office still exist? I don't think so. What about the police precinct on Payne? Anyway, I think they can work some of it. If they really want to, that is.

I'm sure it's all delicious, but come on, not a single entree for us veggies?

Cleveland: Downtown: Technology Center
I hear you both...truly, I do! But I can't see the PD developing their parking lot (this is all very hypothetical anyway) without accommodating for the lost spaces on site. If they can do that in a tight little garage with offices on top, I'd be tickled! More likely, they'd demo something significant nearby instead. Perhaps Payne Ave...old chinatown would be better suited as surface parking?

Cleveland: Innerbelt News
and it has to be able to hold up the roadway. that's kind of the idea of the support structure, after all!

Cleveland: Downtown: Technology Center
But where will the PD folks park? I'm talking about building on their parking lot, after all!

wow, fantastic! thanks for that 8SoG!

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
Pardon me, as I am not a real estate developer, but for a master plan of this magnitude to still leave all that surface parking right in the heart of things just seems a little off to me. Perhaps they lack site control (I thought they owned these, though), or perhaps they really do see these as surface parking lots down the road. Either way, I'd be happier to see all the development concentrated south of the Main Avenue Bridge, rather than spreading in a linear fashion up Center Street alone.

That's what I thought for #28 as well, but which building? Then I started to doubt myself... Could #29 be Walker & Weeks?

Cleveland: Chinatown old and new (with some live-work)
So, do we want to brand this neighborhood? Do we want to market it more as a whole? Or do we like the way it's going just fine? So, I guess it's a question of organic growth versus planned growth...

Cleveland: Downtown: Technology Center
You're so right about old Chinatown. You'd think with all the action going on around there (PD, Tower Press, other lofts, CSU, that the revival would've already begun. This could really help push that forward. And maybe someday the PD would be compelled to build a garage with more offices (or housing) on top!
