Cleveland: Cuyahoga County Gov't properties disposition (non-Ameritrust)
Very good points, Musky. As you all know by now, I want the thing saved...glass casing or not! I would like to see more of the architects' renderings, though. I know they're all just conceptual, but they would help me envision several different options more adeptly.

Cleveland: Downtown: Technology Center
Wow, that rendering is beautiful! Reminiscent of the new Cavs practice center in Independence! Seriously, though, this is great news. It sounds like they've got a pretty solid plan ahead for redeveloping the space, but it is contingent on a lot of public investment. Keep in mind that this massive set of buildings is directly adjacent to the Avenue District. Softening and upgrading the surrounding blocks would allay some of my concerns over the contrast between new townhomes, big old warehouses, wide avenues, and parking lots. In particular, on the block along Superior, east of 13th Street.

I ended up not making this event because I was bogged down in work for my real estate investment course...oh the irony! So, sorry, but no pictures from me...

Cleveland - National PARK(ing) Day by Rebar
All Points Bulletin!!! They landed in town around noon. I just missed the one on W. 6th, north of St. Clair, didn't make it over to E. 9th & Prospect, but got to have a sit (and eat a free lunch!) on W. 25th in front of the Fries & Schuele! Fantastic! I'll post pictures soon...

Thanks for all the information Ryan! Much success going forward!

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
We'll know more at the end of the day, but I'll say that I've been a tad concerned about the focus on Main Ave when the glut of surface parking is closer to the river and Powerhouse. This could be a strategic move, leaving those spots for potential casino construction, but either way, there's no doubt in my mind that if this project continues to be successful, that it will spawn more development surrounding whatever footprint they've already laid out.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
Fantastic news! Kudos to Zaremba and the development and sales teams! It looks like I'll miss the groundbreaking, but I'll be by there frequently to see this project move! Do you love it B12?

Word on the streets is that there was machinery outside over the weekend. I didn't make it by, but I believe my source knows the difference between a garbage truck and a construction vehicle!

Cleveland: Retail News
I grew up in Shaker and to me, this sounds like it's somewhere near the Pennsylvania border. Now I live on the Near West Side and I wouldn't venture this far even if it was to buy something I couldn't find anywhere else in Northeast Ohio. I keep wondering what all of Stark's positioning and recruiting with his exurban developments will do to his chances in the city. I mean, if sprawl in Beachwood is leaving for sprawl in Woodmere, what's next? I need to hear more REAL stuff about Pesht because the only time I hear anything concrete about Bob Stark and retail it's about Crocker or Eton!

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Work continues on the burned out Market Square building on W. 25th. There was a moving truck in front of the West Side Community House on Tuesday morning. (I passed by their new location last week and it looked pretty close to being done.) More debris has been removed from the Jay Ave. Lofts site, a big hole has been dug immediately adjacent to the Jay Hotel building and the majority of the work is still taking place inside the existing structure.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
Some of the same, plus some new details and questions. I was hoping someone was looking into a TIF district with all this development going on and it sounds like they're on top of it! Big plans for west bank of Flats Henry J. Gomez Plain Dealer Reporter The developers behind Stonebridge — already an unlikely success story on the west bank of the Flats — want to add about 1,500 homes and 935,000 square feet of office and retail space to their growing neighborhood. Doug Price, chief executive of K&D Group Inc., and partner Bob Corna will announce the expansion this afternoon at a ribbon-cutting for the next two phases of their project. “I know this sounds a little Disneyland-ish,” said Corna, who envisions glass elevators and a series of walkways that connect the west and east banks with Whiskey Island. Then again, Corna said, the mere idea of the neighborhood seemed Disneyland-ish when he first proposed it more than 10 years ago. With about 500 housing units already built or under construction, Stonebridge has surprised its original skeptics. Prices on the existing Stonebridge units, almost all of which have been sold or leased, range from $140,000 for a one-bedroom plan to more than $1 million for a penthouse suite.... http://search.cleveland.com/Big+plans+for+west+bank+of+Flats?date_range=all

Good stuff. He gets it. He also microwaves his lunch. He even touches on a few hot button political issues...gambling & tax abatement. I wonder what his residents...current & future...would think about placing a casino at the fore of future phases for the West Bank.

Best Ice Cream in Ohio
Man, Aglamesi's is good... love that shop too! What about Malley's in Cleveland? Do they make their own ice cream? I just had Honey Hut for the first time... people are crazy about that stuff! East Coast Custard is good. Are they just at Shaker Square? What about Strickland's? The other place that used to be on Coventry? I always loved Graeter's too, but I lived across the street from it on Ludlow, so how could I resist?!
