Cleveland-Lakewood: Enhance Clifton Transit Project
I agree that route would help maximize the number of riders it serves, but it would likely result in a longer commute time. Unless they're able to make up significant time with the bus only lanes along the remainder of the route. Don't get me wrong... I'm all for it!

Cleveland-Lakewood: Enhance Clifton Transit Project
It sounds like there's volume to warrant this today, but it could also work well with the West Shoreway rehab if that ever brings the kind of density it has the potential for. I'd like to see this considered along Detroit Ave or W. 25/Pearl, but I'm not sure what routes are in the discussion for the new buses. Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
Oh, I'm bummed! Not that I would've done a film, but I would've loved to go to the screening. Several friends of mine in Philly, Brooklyn & Cincinnati have done this over the past few years and their stuff has been amazing! I'll keep an eye out for the videos online. Hope they get the word out more next year!

who needs commercial real estate brokers when you've got craigslist? find a drummer, a used couch or 32,000 square feet of class-a office space!

Cleveland: Jewish Community Federation
It's certainly not unheard of. Hallinan & Hillel already share a facility in University Circle and hope to expand to include additional faith groups. ... though it occurs to me that you were probably just being cheeky!

wow, I used to live right on the corner of Dekalb & South Oxford... what a trip! It's amazing that the WSB tower is now nearly lost among the tall trees... Nice to see Elly's hasn't "gentrified" their beautiful new storefront at all!

where's the 24-story, 64,000 car parking garage going to go?

Cleveland: The Residences at 668 Euclid Avenue
there are ways to design around this... to discourage or prevent this, but I presume they'll just have to be tacked on at the end once something horrible happens. But that's a topic for another thread! Viva la 668!

Cleveland: The Residences at 668 Euclid Avenue
The peds in that picture are becoming more and more of a regular scene along the corridor... Thanks for all the pics guys! I wish I still worked downtown with all this action!

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
yeah, it's surprising that a contender would risk burning a guy out like that. Is their bullpen that bad?

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
^scary stuff... and Sabathia is 8-0 with a 1.60 ERA in 9 starts with the Brew Crew. 5 complete games... and he's hitting!

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
FYI, September 10 will be the groundbreaking date for the Detroit Avenue streetscape project. A ceremony will be held at 4:00 with assorted dignitaries, etc. In the evening, there will be a meeting at the Gordon Square Arcade to discuss a proposed D-S dog park. Not sure of the exact time of that meeting, but it's probably around 6:00.

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
City Planning was kind on Friday, but was clear in their assertion that this is not good enough for Public Square. They've asked CR to work with City Planning staff and Gateway to refine the design further. This may be a discussion best carried on elsewhere, but is anyone else frustrated by how much PUBLIC sidewalk space some of our new patios are taking up?

thanks, I thought I'd checked that!

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
And I reported that it was removed from the CPC agenda on the 15th. This may mean that it wasn't well received on the 14th or that they pulled it from both agendas.

Where's this very thorough report? Did I miss it?

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
I'm with B12 and others here. This looks like it's just a standard issue "dorm" design template that yes, fits within the urban landscape, but still falls short on a number of levels. This is the same company that did such a fine job on the restoration and reuse of Fenn Tower... I was hoping for something better. The materials, though we don't know much about them, look cheap & monotonous. The "backside" nature of the Prospect facade is a huge slight IMO. And being that this is a privately developed, university supported project that includes rental rates above and beyond the market and almost guaranteed occupancy rates, I would suspect that they can afford to reach a higher level of design quality with this project. FYI, this was lifted from last week's CPC agenda. Let's hope they're doing some redesign. Anyone know if it went to Citywide Design Review on Thursday?

seen it all yet? how's about a vinyl-sided new apt tower?
but I bet the views are amazing!

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Was on Market Ave. myself last night and there was such a great vibe. I was at the Wine Bar and am very relieved to find out that they will be staying on the block and hopefully creating a unique new space across the street. I'll probably never go to the new Garage Bar location, but I'm glad to hear there's a new business coming to that end of the strip. Good for Zen finally moving over and good for W. 25th. Any ideas about their old space? Lastly, has anyone heard another word about the Alternative Press proposal for the old Moda space?

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
Same here. The guy was good with service and I give him kudos for keeping a lively storefront over all these dark years on Euclid. He also made sure I had a beer in my hand as I was trying on suits last year (pre-bar). Unfortunately, nothing fit me the way I wanted to, so I had to pass. Maybe next time, though!

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
it is substantial, but it won't be more than 4 or 5 stories. The big detail to me is how it will address both Euclid & Prospect Avenues (will it better connect Walker Weeks to campus?) and this new E. 24th street. I have high hopes!
-
Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
Hmmm... 900 beds (which sounds high for the Euclid/E. 24th site) is probably more like 300 units. I don't think they're planning anything with real height there. Probably more in the 4-5 story range. Sorry to be a stick in the mud!

Cleveland: Demolition Watch
re: Frangos demo... total bummer... there's a very cool feel on those old brick streets bordering the cemetery. Re: old warehouses south of Cedar... there are quite a few beautiful old brick ones down there that are empty as could be. There's a massive one that's being devoured by ivy on Quincy, just west of Woodhill. Amazing stuff.
