  1. We're regressing. Simply amazing in the most ugly way.
  2. You have to ask? Then there is your answer.. DUH.
  3. His hairdo piece will always be a winner!
  4. Couldn't agree more. But, the GOP has a lot of rural lower income people duped into thinking they (GOP) represent their best economic/moral ethics values, when the opposite is really true. All they have to do is banter the same old rhetoric headliners with the echos of "baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, Chevrolet and the Bible" and they got 'em hooked!
  5. Great video!.....Now for step two....let's get away from the screen and let's make the city look just as good in person as it does in the videos by doing the simple things. I have mentioned them and have taken initiative on them to the point of vomiting so no need to list. But, we all can make a difference collectively.
  6. Anything in store for the soon to be vacant Bodies exhibit? Some functional retail would be nice and needed.
  7. While we amaze the world with this piece.... smaller parks as on the banks of the Flats are denied the attention they need. As much as I favor a connected square and a re-route of traffic around it, etc..and all the grandiose visions, I still have the concern about other areas being ignored, or this one becoming a great space that is still smeared with stains of existing issues I had mentioned earlier in this thread. So, again, until we get the "smaller stuff" right first...such as perhaps even a resurfaced E.9th Street with new and/or spruced up planters and a better pedestrian feel...better maintained Flats parks and lighting.. Correction of some of the current square issues I mentioned in earlier posts... I would take all that simple routine stuff FIRST..... before touching the square or mall with any major overhauls... as they'll do for now eventhough they're not perfect. (Add an event or two, clean it up...a bit more security, and that would make an instant improvement.) Then, when we get that right, let's graduate to what I do actually support (a grand square makover), but "not until." I don't want to place the cart before the horse and all too often we have these grandiose plans but ignore the smaller things that add up to be a lot...so one place looks great while other things continue to fall apart. And yes, I know about investments like this being a stimulus for other good things, but that is really speculative.
  8. Anyone know what is going on with the little market on MH Road? When I go by there, it looks like something has started, but then stopped. MH...any info on this?

That says nothing about business failing. It says loads about taste and preference. At the same time, I don't want a desperate..."we'll take anything we can get...development at any cost" approach either. In some areas, such an approach leads to nothing but check cashing outlets and boom car outfitters for audio terrorists. Ok, I won't go there. I just don't like Starbucks and prefer to not support them when I have plenty of local choices. I reserve the personal right.
  10. I am checking into that today, actually.... I will post soon.

^^ From a rather fun experience of mine in the last year....Many Australian die hard coffee fans of the real and original independents sternly shun and boycott Starbucks on a daily basis.... (not the the restroom thing, but to express their loyalty to the local/independents) It was funny to see them walk by the shop and hold up their cup of the local jo as a salute!
  12. Just found this and noticed Randall made the cut... Don't know if it was ever posted but worth a look. http://notifbutwhen.com/projects/copia/dark-stores/#i51

In my opinion, we have so many fantastic independent....locally owned and original coffee places. Nothing unique about Starbucks anymore when they're as common as Sprawl-Mart or those ABC stores in Honolulu. It is conveniently forgotten that opposite of what many may perceive...They've rode piggy back from the original and local coffee shop theme started by independents. In other words...trend copying, not trend setting. Kind of like how Mc Crapold's did with the "Mc Cafe" thing.
  14. ^ I think it can operate this way...if more here would understand how a round-a-bout really works...why they're more often much more efficient. We're so used to having "intersections" hence so much opposition to such an idea by many.
  15. Also looks like the contemporary hotel at Disney World! What blows my mind about these places is their choice to use inorganic lawn chemicals on the properties...which contain many chemicals blatantly linked to cancer...and are banned in several places. I really don't understand the disconnect. Sure, I trust my health with those who do stupid things like that.
  16. Hey..this is fantastic.
  17. Yep....its as tacky as having a radio playing in a restaurant.
  18. ^ It certainly does feel that way. Football is a game of rhythm too and it becomes frustrating for players sometimes to wait for all these commercials. In the past, the game did not wait for the advertising so much as it does today. If they didn't get back to the action in time..oh well, you missed a bit.
  19. I agree. It has been delayed due to, first....and this was a while back...review approval...then its now a matter of the company making it. The place is not even complete on the decor and ambiance which is supposed to come soon. Let's hold out a bit longer... the owners are really frustrated with how long it has taken too. Meanwhile, if anyone has not tried it, check it out. And, if you can, check out their Youngstown (Boardman) location too where there is a great retail component.
  20. Will look fabulous! Can't wait to see this when finished!
  21. ^^ Any renderings/illustrations on how it would look?
  22. ^^ And enjoy trying to breathe. Anyway, glad to see this going on. This area, once the busiest part of Euclid, now the dead zone. Hopefully we can get some art near there in the meanwhile in some other places to make it look a lot better. Curious... About how long would it take to renovate this building?
  23. I agree! And btw...LBJ...give some of your NIKE endorsement money back to the exploited sweatshop slaves who made the shoes or they'll dust the insides of them with itching powder!

Glad you enjoyed it... Just wondering though...and this is just a trivial peeve, but doesn't anyplace remind anyone of Cleveland... or is it Cleveland reminding them of everywhere else? Let's enjoy the particular city we're in for the given day and delve into it for its own unique offerings. I would not go to Rome and say to the locals. "It reminds me of "x" I'd just experience it as the individual place it is. I know, I know, I am nit picking...this is nothing personal... Great thorough review and seems like a nice time.
