Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
^ That's right. I am so sick of this focus on the grandiose around here... when the simple cannot even be completed... take the baby steps first... Also tired of this airport being ridiculed. It can actually be an asset and compliment to the lakefront. There is plenty of room along he river and current lakefront areas to build a great lakefront.. Quit harping on Burke's closing... I wonder how many people who actually want this grand lakefront and all these elements, would actually support the businesses and venues it can offer besides stuffing the face venues and drinking holes.

Rush it? That's a real laugh...on a project that was originally conceived....what? Over 10 years ago...or close to that? Wrong choice of words there Bart!

Cleveland Browns Discussion
So sick of this team losing in the same or similar fashion all the time..beating themselves, not threading the needle when it really counts and getting beat on one or two plays... same mistakes. One of a few things that come to mind. Employ a third down defense that stops the other team when it really counts the most! This offense starts off moving..then sputters.. and what the hell was with that punting on 4th and one!

Thumbs up to that.... I'll never go in a box store. If my local/independent guy does not have it, I probably don't need it.

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
Wow... Caddy Shack didn't last long... and this idea of lack of parking is nauseating talk. Man, unless someone has it handed to them through a window....or if they might have to walk for 60 seconds, they're clueless as to how to utilize a downtown. Is the new interest taking over Zinc another Asian place? We surely lack such food here...

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
Hmmm....At least the parking is in the back... However, I wish we'd implement more underground parking instead of these surface lots...which, anyway, are not....no mater how many spaces reserved, conducive to the needs of the "army of sick" with "obese-abilities!" that will patronize. Nor are they compatible with the weather... Go underground if you must have this kind of parking...not on the surface. Its not as though we do not know how to do this here and have not... Galleria at Erieview is a good example of a well done underground garage. Oh, I know.. I know.. "It would cost too much" Yeah, yeah... always having to settle.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
The building is for sale. (old Ohio Edison?) I have been in contact with the group in New York. We're going to do some window makeovers on it. At least some of it. Stay tuned.

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
Good idea... Just to foot note, however, that if the really extremist types (like big headed Gingrich) in the Republican legislation get their way, there will be NOOO clean water act at all. In fact, they'd be happy if all environmental safeguards will go back to slash and burn days...and they expect that we should just trust that they (polluters who they're in bed with in the corporate dictatorship) will do the right thing voluntarily without any watch dogging whatsoever. These issues, however are largely kept out of the public eye and therefore the public is largely ill-informed, or better yet, dumb and numb to such. Pure insanity.....and such that has bred the need for regulation in the first place. Sadly, they, who will bitch the most about rules and regulations, seldom if ever realize how they are party to creating the bigger problems. I think it is called denial.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Etheostoma Caeruleum replied to blinker12's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentSuch is life when we allow casino king pins to dictate the agenda here. So yeah, be careful what you wish for. If FFB Moves...where would they go? Also, what is a "tilted kilt?" Is this a clone zone chain gang franchise thing?

I hope they plan on repairing the tiles at and near the base of the storefront or thresholds.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Nice plan, but it will probably take years to get the simplest thing off the ground if other project status' are any indicator.... projects like Scofield Bldg. that has not lifted a finger for over a year... Euclid and 9th...dead... I wonder what will be the delay factors for building behind the stadium.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
A good start to make the scene more attractive.. Overlooked basics like litter abatement, window cleaning , planter refreshing, window art..all cost very little, and make a collective big improvement. New strreet-scapes without such stewardship will end up looking like crappy new street retail/business capes. Oh, sorry.. I am being an "Anti-Cleveland" poo pooer. I know such simple ideas are not welcome on this forum because Cleveland is perfect just the way it is.

Cleveland: North Coast Harbor Developments
Looks nice.. There is plenty of room behind the stadium for this sort of development where the blue warehouse docks and buildings are.

Northeast Ohio / Cleveland: General Transit Thread
This is a fantasy, but I would like to see it go as far as Mentor. So many in our region are denied access to transportation.... yet RTA, a regional transpiration entity, hardly reaches areas of the region that could lead to people leaving their cars at home. But getting it to Euclid is like pulling teeth...so back to reality.

CLEVELAND - Columbus Day 2011
Nice thread... I wish that Mayfield Theater would at least get a coat of paint....a facade wash...a semi-sprucing up just to keep appearances. Would be great to restore and show European films.... or also have a small market inside with the theater.
