  1. Good to see a decent fill-in...but please....enough Mexican etc. food already. In fact, how about some other kind of venue the neighborhood could use that is non-food.. How about a nice shoe store! No...not Payless or Footlocker, either.
  2. So if I want to join city wheels... which I have been wanting to, but could not for a while because of tickets.... does this mean its not available or did Zipcar buy it out locally?
  3. Did anyone mention The Baseball Heritage Museum in The Colonial Arcade?... Or is it the other one... Well, I know its in one of the smaller arcades. Just wanted to mention it if it has not been. There is also a fantastic radio heritage museum on the lower level.

Guess its better to ave all the drunks on the bus than on the roads. I feel sorry for sober passengers, though. I have to ask if this is the best way to show people "how easy it is to use RTA" than having a DD. I somehow am reminded of 10 cent beer night marketing ideas.
  5. Dear Ferro, moving your HQ out of the central business district to suburbia is a trend that its time has passed. Are you in a time warp?
  6. This crap can take a hike...not what I would want to see promoting Cleveland...No matter how it is sugarcoated.... it is still c-RAP IMO... "the poets of limited vocabulary." (most of what is being presented in the mainstream today, in contrast to yesterday) Same selfish idiot ...in-your-face anti-social..."I'm entitled to do whatever the F*** I want" mentality/behavior that carelessly and often purposely drives by homes at 3:00 AM with their audio terrorist obnoxious noise making machines, robbing people of peace in their own homes. No thanks at 20....and no thanks at 43. Not everything has to be "Hip Hop-ified" Let's get creative and do something different for a change.
  7. I heard where the Hot Wheels Set...parking garage... A.K.A. "Welcome Center" will have some street level retail/business space... Is this true? It would be good to know the show of support for a re-design and exploring other options that were not actually explored... could have had some impact in revamping this terrible design.
  8. Well, that's just the problem... Rhetorically speaking...a lot of Cleveland has an attitude that does not give much of anything a second thought....like things that seem small, but add up to be a lot collectively. Its like a defect in some of the thinking around here that most seem to not be able to admit...and when someone does point out issues or areas for needed improvement, they're often mistaken and labeled "anti-Cleveland" just for holding things to a higher standard that should be expected. Ask some people who have to work in offices on streets with this constant Ca-Clunk... who have hear this and how disruptive it can be like a dripping faucet all day long. In fact, I did not take much note to it either until I had at least 4 people tell me about it who work downtown---and after riding down Euclid. Its tolerable if a couple do this on and off... but it is increasing all over downtown. So, the question still remains unanswered: Who is responsible or alert to the fact that this problem should be corrected?
  9. I heard Fat Fish Blue was closing. Has this been posted? If so, please excuse. If not, too bad...the last thing that horrible looking parking garage needs is emptiness at street level...or just emptiness in that general area.
  10. ^ There is a guy every Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Galleria Market Days...who sells fantastic old restored Cleveland Press photos of the city. You name the scene and he has it...large prints too! They are amazing! Oh, and as for Hornblowers...good to see something in there, but this was a great space with a great view...now off limits to the public. I wish it could have been re-invented as a new restaurant.
  11. Question: I do not know if RTA or the city, or both have some sort of interest/responsibility in this matter, but along the Healthline, (like some other parts of downtown with much older pavement) there are at least a couple dozen manhole covers on sewers between downtown and UC that are totally out of alignment. The constant "CA-CLUNK" sound, continually is really annoying and seems to evoke shoddy work. FFSakes... Is there anyone noticing this? It seems way too new for this sort of thing to be happening already. Its almost as though a slight earthquake hit and knocked these holes out of alignment with their covers all along the H.L. RTA? City? Is there any attention to this and any plan to correct this problem? Its bad enough this is a problem on streets like 9th and Superior where the surface is much older and worn, but on a much newer surface... Woah!
  12. I hope more people support these businesses. Other places besides bars could use support---and I like to see the neighborhoods offer more than bars.
  13. Ok, I am noticing some street level facade activity on this building... Is it "patching" broken windows, or is something happening? It looks as though a new entrance was being built.
  14. Indians: GOING....... GOing............gone!
  15. Too noisy in there... Acoustic sewer.
  16. Restoring natural beachfront intertwined with small boardwalk type development could never hurt...and residences. I am guessing the land under Burke is contaminated. Natural shoreline will never go out of style... Mix it well with residential/natural areas for buffering and cleaning the water naturally.....and that which draws stakeholders and not just fly by nights drinking and trashing the place, and we've finally got the delicate mix in a city I and many my age seek. Melbourne, Australia is a perfect example. Even Chicago, right next door. While were at it, let's clean up all the plastic tip cigars and cigarette butts off the beaches. Aside from the other collective impacts that has, it just looks plain nasty. I know, we're perfect....no room for improvements, though. God forbid we continue to promote high quality shores and water resources. Those environmentalists are just sending the country to hell! :-D
  17. Well, it would be good to detect a pulse again with this one... This is such a fantastic building. Also, does anyone know if the adjacent/connected building (City Club?)will be a part of the renovation or at least get an exterior cleaning?
  18. Exactly what I mean. There is such a thing as "quality sound delivery" but too often such is overlooked by not paying attention to the "quality" components of sound delivery, and instead, the scenario becomes one of "who can yell louder than the other guy?" It is easy to be loud, but takes some planning and thinking to deliver a quality sound experience that neither acoustically assaults you in the foreground, or becomes the jumbled mess that ends up just sounding like a bunch of noise in the background. Movie theaters these days are notorious for this lack of attention to quality, while delivering just quantity. There is a big difference. By the way, does anyone know if there are plans to clean the facade of the May Company Building? It is such a classy facade that could at the very least, use some kind of wash. It is staring to look really dirty and dingy. And, with the CR and Baroom starting to resemble, in my opinion, cheap, unkempt... Flats-like bars, leaving the upper facade left to collect grime and match the former, is so disrespectful to this building and the classy past it represents. It is not as though it is vacant. It has lots of activity, therefore should be kept looking as good as possible.
  19. I have an idea... How about a Super Suburban Style...Sprawl-Mart there...they already have the vast sea of emptiness with the surface parking lot... Surely this will lure droves and make Cleveland totally unique! (It is sad to say that some may actually like this idea!)
  20. Plain and simple...if we want to see other areas revitalize, we have to put the money where the mouth is and go out and support the businesses...in areas besides the the usual gentrified areas.
  21. But as of late... what is happening? It looks deserted 24/7.
  22. I was not saying he did. Some have vaguely suggested it. How you interpret me directing that at McCleveland baffles me as well... Ok, back on topic please.
  23. I know this was a landmark and all..... and I even envisioned it renovated and with huge glass windows in the spaces where the long indention were with the arched tops, and would have loved to see some rendering that shows what this could have been made into.......But seeing it in the neglected condition it was in for so long, I am not all that sad to see this one be laid to rest.
  24. They went to buy drugs, or so it is said....but they probably didn't expect an attempt to murder/getting murdered :shoot: was part of the purchase agreement. :-o I cannot accept the rationale that because they did, somehow excuses a murder or makes the shooter somehow less guilty. Its just Bull SH!!. It is similar to the ideology that suggests that because a woman wears something sexy...she deserves to be.... or it is no wonder she gets raped. Sure, it may attract a rouge or salivating lustful element and situation, but the means does not justify the ends IMO. By the way...the Party in the Park events were great. I also remember the "Celebration Square to Square" Does anyone remember that? It really hoked up P.S. and P.H.S.
