Dublin: Developments and News
aderwent replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionDublin, Daimler plan Frantz Road development "The city, in partnership with Daimler Group, plans to develop about 13.5 acres of city-owned land on the west side of Frantz Road, north of Rings Road. The project is within the Dublin Corporate Area Plan and is intended to encourage new and complementary investment, create open spaces and walkable areas and reposition legacy office sites, said Dublin senior planner Claudia Husak. The Daimler Group’s project concept provides retail and restaurant uses that have been identified as missing amenities in the planning area and creates a “front door” along the Frantz Road frontage with well-landscaped buildings, said Donna Goss, Dublin director of development. Public gathering spaces are proposed adjacent to the Frantz Road sidewalk and a linear walkway feature connects through the site to the adjacent open space, where enhancements to the existing pond will be made to create a destination for respite, she said The proposed design for the collection of buildings is in an urban farm style, which will define the development as a place and not a series of individual buildings, while complementing the adjacent Field of Corn public art installation, Goss said. The proposed development would be a mix of office, restaurant and retail space, along with parks and open space, Husak said. The plan doesn’t include residential space, she said." https://www.thisweeknews.com/news/20191119/dublin-daimler-plan-frantz-road-development You almost had it, Dublin. Why wouldn't you include residential here?

Groveport: Developments and News
Marketing Place to Directors Blvd. you mean? If ever I come that way that's the way I go already. If that is their plan that would help a lot. Just didn't know with Eastland Career Center being right there if they could run that much traffic by it.

I wonder who they'll get to bring food to the set? Fox in the Snow and Ray Ray's?

This is Fox's Big Noon game, too. So both major pre-game shows will be here!

Groveport: Developments and News
Give me two hours and I can come up with a better timing scheme. It just doesn't make any sense at all the way they have it. I don't know if it's ODOT, Columbus, or Groveport, but if someone could give me relevant contact info I'd love to send them my idea. It wouldn't even cost anything more than the programmer's time to implement.

This is complete, and open as of this spring.

Groveport: Developments and News
Technically that warehouse was going to be built anyway on spec. It's already under construction. That is also a fairly old satellite view. To the north of that AEP building is a data center owned by AEP; which can be seen on Streetview. Groveport Madison High School is complete (and already too small...), the temporary/old buildings in front of it are gone, and there are ball fields along Hamilton Rd. On Groveport's 2020 docket are intersection improvements to that intersection where you have the address pin. It doesn't say though what those improvements will be. I wish they'd improve light timing at 33/Hamilton/Williams. I drive that every day, and yeah, it's a bad set up to begin with, but the light timing makes the traffic twice as bad as it should be in all directions.

Hilliard: Developments and News
Didn't grab a picture, but Amazon data centers #s 3, 4, and 5 have broken ground in Hilliard. I wonder if the Dublin and New Albany locations have also started their expansions?

Canal Winchester: Developments and News
I was in downtown Canal this morning. This project has broken ground. Just as nice as anything Clintonville has put up. It's at 18-26 Waterloo Street. So half a block West of High Street (main street in Canal Winchester) just across from Loose Rail Brewing. Good job, Canal! Edit. It's over 6,000 square feet of retail with 18 apartments above. Said it would be open by Summer 2020.

Columbus: Downtown: Arena District Developments and News
aderwent replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionSounds more like a blend of McPherson Commons and Parks Edge. Parks Edge is stone at the base, not brick.

aderwent replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionAlmost nailed it. Ten floors, but only 50 units. Wonder if it'll be brick or steel and glass?

Let's hope one day High Street is lined with 15-22 story buildings to spite German Villagers.

Columbus: General Business & Economic News
Right now Chase has ~2 million square feet in Columbus with ~18,400 jobs. It would take a huge number to make even a dent in 2 million square feet on the Peninsula. As I said in the Capitol Square thread, perhaps Chase is interested in that development like Bank One originally.

Columbus: Scioto Peninsula Developments and News
They're going to increase downtown's total office space by 16% on spec? Who in the world would finance that? Columbus developers can't even get financing for proper sized housing developments in a market woefully undersupplied.

Columbus: Downtown: Highpoint / Columbus Commons
This will almost assuredly be a DGX i.e. basically like the Short North UDF. They're in places like Midtown Nashville, Cleveland's Playhouse Square, and Northern Liberties Philadelphia.

- Grandview Heights: Grandview Yard
aderwent replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI drove by this yesterday. This picture must be no more than a couple days old. Work starts on three new buildings at Grandview Yard "Nationwide Realty Investors has started work on a new office building and two new apartment buildings on the largest remaining vacant parcel at Grandview Yard, Nationwide’s 125-acre development north of Goodale Street and west of Rt. 315. When the two apartment buildings are completed, Grandview Yard will have almost 1,500 residences and more than 5,000 office workers. Nationwide Realty Investors has started work on two apartment buildings and an office building on the largest remaining parcel at the Grandview Yard complex, the 125-acre development north of Goodale Boulevard and west of Rt. 315. The new phase will add a three-story office building and a pair of four-story buildings containing a total of 218 apartments. They will rise on a vacant lot north of Burr Avenue between Rail and Yard streets." https://www.dispatch.com/business/20191017/work-starts-on-three-new-buildings-at-grandview-yard The article is longer than typical announcements. It has info about the future of Grandview Yard as well, saying it will be fully built out, including the new portion south of Goodale, in six to eight years.- Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
If this is such a huge issue unique to Columbus, why is no one talking about it publicly?- Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
Capitol Tower was circa 1991/1992. The glass skyscraper looks like it's from the 90s, but that's from 2011/2012. - Grandview Heights: Grandview Yard
