  1. They own a lot more than that: https://hadler.com/portfolio/
  2. Pickleball-anchored sports and entertainment venue coming to Westerville "Smash Park Entertainment Group, an Iowa-based company with multiple locations in the Midwest, will build its newest facility at the southeast corner of Polaris Parkway and Cleveland Avenue. It will be located within Westerville's Westar Place district, which the city has prioritized for new amenities to serve nearby businesses and activate the area throughout the week. To facilitate its development, Westerville City Council on Tuesday approved a real estate purchase agreement with Smash Park for the 3.3-acre parcel the facility will be built on. The city-owned property will be sold for $560,000 per acre, which equates to nearly $1.85 million. With the purchase agreement in place, the project now heads to the Westerville Planning Commission for approval of a final development plan. Smash Park, which describes itself as an "eatertainment destination," will be a nearly 50,000-square-foot venue with pickleball courts, duckpin bowling, private karaoke suites and axe throwing. It will also have a full-service restaurant, more than 100 TVs for sports, a private event space that can host up to 500 people, and a rooftop bar." https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2024/03/06/smash-park-entertainment-venue-westar-westerville.html Interesting that they didn't mention this is less than 3/4 of a mile from where the Real Dill is being built...
  3. Developer wants to put up 15-story tower at Bier Stube site near Ohio State "Harbor Bay Ventures, a development firm with offices in Cleveland and Chicago, is proposing a 15-story, roughly 200-unit apartment building at 1479 N. High St. This would be the developer's first Columbus project." https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2024/03/06/bier-stube.html
  4. I've never been impressed with Vogt's work, but he's always the local go-to for our development publications.
  5. 'Experimental museum' headed to Whittier Peninsula this spring "The Dublin design company Roto is planning to open an "experimental museum" this spring in a former warehouse on the Whittier Peninsula in the Brewery District. The 20-year-old company, which designs exhibits and attractions for museums and other destinations, has leased 30,000 square feet in the former Lazarus warehouse on the peninsula for the first space of its own open to the public. Roto described the museum as a "new form of interactive engagement" and said it will share more details and renderings before the space opens later this spring. 'The future of museums and attractions is being shaped by creative design technology," Joseph Wisne, Roto’s founding partner, said in a news release. "We are excited to be building something truly original that will only be found here in Columbus.'" https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/local/2024/03/05/what-is-dubiln-design-firm-roto-planning-on-the-whittier-peninsula/72807883007/
  6. Almost seven years later Brad DeHays is finally done with the Standard building at 4th and Long. Looking at the interior photos it'd be hard for me to justify $1,500 for a one bedroom after seeing what $1,585 gets you at the Madison. Interior photos here: https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2024/03/04/apartments-downtown-now-leasing.html
  7. If you're talking about Easton Market that's owned by SITE Centers Corp out of Beachwood. If you're talking about the lots just inside Easton Loop W I'd hardly call them empty. From the end of this recent article with Yaromir Steiner aka Easton's developer: "Moreover, Steiner wants to see Easton Town Center become a true village. “We cannot be solely a commercial project. There must be art galleries. There should be dry cleaners, a childcare center, and senior living homes. We need to think more holistically about how people live their lives – what they want and need.” He concludes, 'We still have 150 unbuilt acres. I don’t know if I’ll be alive to see it, but 20 to 25 years from now, Easton could be transformed from a mall to a village. That’s my idea.'" So I wouldn't expect anything tomorrow unfortunately.
  8. State of Downtown for EoY 2023 is out. Some comparisons I see to 2019: 9,270 residents -> 12,000: +2,730 (+29%) 93.6% occupancy -> 90%: -3.6% 6,888 units -> 9,413: +2,525 (+37%) 12,606,724ft² office -> 13,615,437: +1,008,713 (+8%) 14.0% vacancy -> 21.1%: +7.1% $21.37 lease rate -> $24.01: +$2.64 (+12%) 34,155 students -> 37,264: +3,109 (+9%) 17 hotels -> 20: +3 4,223 rooms -> 5,165: +942 (+22%) 66.5% occupancy -> 54.3%: -12.2% $106.61 rate -> $173.43: +$66.82 (+63%) The only negatives I see are office vacancy and hotel occupancy. Though neither are as bad as it looks: We went from 10,841,783ft² of office space rented to 10,878,734ft². So more office space is rented now than in 2019. We went from 1,025,028 room stays to 1,023,677 room stays. So roughly the same.
  9. I guess the title of this thread should be changed to The Madison.
  10. Elevator cores for the building have been pretty much finished for a week. I would assume Puttshack won't be open until sometime after the apartments.
  11. I think it looks like the Beacon building site, not Diamond Exchange. As for Leveque garage I believe it was once proposed to have a tower built atop it.

    Interestingly, it doesn't appear to matter much as the park furthest from ENE is Atlanta's Truist Park, opened in 2018.

    From the MLB rule book: 2.00 –THE PLAYING FIELD 2.01 Layout of the Field It is desirable that the line from home base through the pitcher’s plate to second base shall run East-Northeast.

    It looks to me to be facing NE. ENE is ideal, but 22 of 30 current ballparks face between N and E. Comiskey is one of the worst offenders of the ideal. The rendering appears to make it one of the closest to ideal.
  15. Some pictures from this Dispatch article.
  16. I thought this was going to be another Rockbridge independent hotel a la the Junto?
