  1. The National Veterans Memorial and Museum raised $82 million in donations. The Timashev family donated $17 million for OSU's new art school, and $110 million for OSU's software innovation center. His company, Veeam, donated $5 million for OSU arts scholarships and teaching/research. The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum got $7 million from the Ireland family, and another $3.5 million from Jean Shulz. All the right people are connected to this to meet that funding goal. Columbus is capable of getting this done. Let's hope they pull through!
  2. River & Rich developers share new renderings of Franklinton project's next phase "Bob Bitzenhofer, vice president for planning and development at CMHA, said the the next phase will consist of two U-shaped buildings, which will have their own parking and amenities separate from the first phase. This development will also include 8,000 square feet of commercial space. The site is L-shaped, he said, which leaves a possibility for a third phase. Casto Communities President Brent Sobczak told us in December the firm hoped to break ground this quarter. Bitzenhofer said with this bond now issued, financing could close in this quarter and construction will start soon after. CMHA's participation in the deal allows the developers to hold 20% of the units at 80% of the area median income and 100% of the area median income, Bitzenhofer said." https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2024/02/07/franklinton-apartments-river-rich-renderings-phase.html
  3. They have a website now: https://cmhnext.com/
  4. SMH, Columbus Underground. You looked up that 34 South Third Ltd. has controlled the site since 2015, but didn't notice that it "transferred" for $0? It's clearly still owned by the Wolfe family.
  5. Notice zero mention of the city occupying the top spot.
  6. What project are you talking about? Two massive, single-use parking garages? There's not a single single-use parking garage. Phase I is just one garage. A smattering of suburban walkups a half mile away? Connected to the parking garage: 290 units in a six story building. Across a small street: an additional 136 units in a five story apartment building. Also connected to the garage/six story is a 23,000sqft Putt Shack and a 14,000sqft restaurant space. Per the site plan you can't even walk from Ikea Way into the development? Demonstrably false. No paths provided? Demonstrably false. All this is under construction. Anything else is preliminary and subject to change.
  7. Galaxy at Polaris is just a garage? Huh? It's 30 acres of development i.e. larger than the entirety of the Peninsula. The Peninsula entry was just for the tower. How is a 3/4 scoring well on walkability? Not to mention it's not an application for the entire area of Polaris. The Merchant Building got $34 million last round. Convention (adjacent) projects will surely win these large payouts more easily.
  8. This is now called Assembly. It was the only Columbus project to win TMUD funding this round. https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2024/01/29/kroger-bakery-redevelopment-ohio-tax-credit.html
  9. Looks like Oscar's is closing. Hopefully this means the boutique hotel is a go! https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2024/01/29/oscars-in-dublin-closes-auctioning-monday.html
  10. It's already approved to be extended all the way to 3rd as part of the Galleria project. It may even be under construction. I haven't been over there lately.
  11. I believe that lot is owned by ValStone; the firm that bought and renovated the 5/3 building.
  12. That slopes down to the river so highly doubt it. Also, there's trees lining the walkways to the building. I don't think it's an outdoor amphitheater. Also, they're removing the majority of the street parking but maintaining the vehicular access. It looks like the other side of Washington will be large steps down to the river similar to what's behind COSI.
  13. We've known about this since the March 2023 announcement, but it's nice to see a timeline.
  14. Speaking of the DoubleTree I noticed yesterday that it's for sale.
  15. They don't support it; that doesn't mean it's not approved. They are requiring a traffic study be done, and identifying any impacts with the State Street pedestrian improvements, the Broad Street streetscpaing, and the Broad Street BRT project. edit: Considering they're just moving the eastern-most curb cut and eliminating the western-most curb cut, I don't see how it wouldn't be approved.
  16. When it's available the far left column will become a downloadable link.
