Cleveland: Biotech Business News & Info
While its great to see $10 million dollars coming from out of state investors, I'm a little nervous about the details. Are they forming a new company so the the investors can move it to Utah? Arteriocyte joins in forming new company By CHUCK SODER 10:23 am, October 25, 2007 Cleveland stem cell company Arteriocyte Inc. and private equity firm DW Healthcare Partners of Salt Lake City are forming a medical device company called Arteriocyte Medical Systems Inc. DW Healthcare provided a $10 million investment that the new company will use to develop and acquire technologies to deliver biological products into patients following cardiac, orthopedic and vascular surgeries. The new company eventually will have its own employees, but Arteriocyte Inc. CEO Don Brown, who also will be CEO of the new company, said he is unsure how many people it would employ. For the time being it will be located at BioEnterprise Corp., a nonprofit in Cleveland that assists health care companies, but Mr. Brown declined to reveal future plans regarding its location. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20071025/FREE/71025018

When did you first start posting on message boards?
I remember posting in February 1996 to find out if a certain Dominican team had won the Caribbean Series. In 1999, I started checking the Ohio high school football message boards.

anybody and their mother knows that Troy > Independence Beachwood/Mayfield is more of Cleveland's version of Troy.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
^The United Way has been renovating its building. They sent the windows away to get a tune up. They seem to be putting them back in.

Cleveland: The Park Building
^I hear that is what they want to do, but I've heard that they are going to have some difficulty. Supposedly the Dollar Bank has a beautiful facade underneath that 60s addition. Its going to take a lot of political will (not sure that it exists) to tear down that building.

edit: Blinker already beat me to it. The project now has some greater height to it than the skyscraper site's rendering.

Ooh, you sound like you know some stuff. Cool. While we always like new additions to UO, we especially like the ones that know a thing or two. Welcome!

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
They are beautiful. Too beautiful to sell quickly. They were going for about $500k. Phase I sold out in about 18 months. The reason why phase II isn't going forward: an inexperienced developer who wanted to cash in rather than wait for a few pre-sales. Down the street, hopefully the first of the 5 Clinton Courts townhomes is about to be sold. On that block of Clinton, two other homes are currently undergoing renovation.

I like the images that Musky posted much better than the image that was in the print edition. I'm very curious to see what the space in front of the building's entrance will look like.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I hate the fact that I have to watch a game in a dome tomorrow. Domes are so depressing. No energy. Anyways, Go Browns!!

Cleveland - Where to live for $150,000?
I would think that the no-maintenance, secured-parking, quality, and close to W.25th/Lorain would sell very well. Carol, what do you say?

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
i understand your fears about Dimora and Hagan, but it would be a huge mistake if we put this in Midtown. We would have yet another island of development whose growth is stunted because it is disconnected from the rest of town.

^there was some big news last week. The project is moving along quite nicely behind the scenes.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
They have a massive parking shortage. They are building 6,000 structured spaces this year alone. yeah, and are they still having their own employees park at the Muni Lot downtown and take a shuttle? yep. They've also got people parking in East Cleveland, next to the Cle School of the Arts and next to BioEnterprise. Those shuttles are all over the place. There is always a CCF police car patroling the muni lot.

Additionally, NEOUCOM has a medical program where you can get your MD straight out of high school. Its a 6 year program. I think that it would be a much better experience if the 18-22 year olds had the opportunity to go to a school that offered better amenities. I can't imagine that Rootstown offers much of a collegiate experience.
