Cleveland: One University Circle
Let me just add...don't be surprised if the timeline is more along the lines of 1 to 2.5 years out.

Does Dona Brady actually exist? The lady keeps an extremely low profile.

Ohio High School Football: General News & Discussion
Glenville also pulls from outside the City. They've had a number of talented kids transfer in from numerous inner ring east side neighborhoods over the years. They also tend to get a lot of kids who transfer/flunk out of St. Eds after 9th or 10th grade.

Cleveland: Cuyahoga County Gov't properties disposition (non-Ameritrust)
The Foran Group also put a bid on the property, but the County did not choose them for whatever reason. Foran is doing the apartment project at Church Ave & west 25th.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
It is not possible to keep the current design and simply put it above ground. That would increase the construction costs and put it about 50% over budget. At the public meeting, the attendees resoundingly supported the moving the park inland a 100 ft or so and maintaining the original design. This now also allows the metroparks to add green space, continued trail and seating at the river's edge.

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
I was hoping for that we'd get a BIG-designed hotel. They are so frigging cool. Oh well. I wish that Litt would give his opinion on this one instead of just reporting the facts.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
Are caissons unusual for a project this size? I tend to associate them with much larger projects like towers and bridges. I'm not a structural genius, but I wonder if it is because of the soil conditions there. I had always heard that Lake Erie's shoreline used to come up to this point. That's why they call it the "Beach". Supposedly, the soil is much sandier on this side of Euclid Ave. Given that the structure will be 8 stories and the supposed sandy conditions, maybe that's why caissons are necessary??

Dan Gilbert needs it to store all his cash before the Brinks truck can haul it away.

"The other round" in city planning is just to appease Clmn Conwell. CPC will pass this easily and they are annoyed by Conwell. Conwell was trying some grandstanding that did nothing but make him lose respect amongst all that hold any power, big or small, in City Hall.

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
Could you give us some more background on why you feel/think/know it will be demolished? We're level-headed people here and we really dig balanced, well-articulated arguments.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Yes, there are. But they could use some updating (to put it nicely).

Cleveland: Need help finding affordable office rent for tech start-up
I'd contact Graham Veysey. He owns the old firehouse in Ohio City on w.29th & Church (across from CMA's new Transformer Station). He's buying another large mixed-use building at this intersection and has some big plans. If you're interested in getting into something before the rest of the area wakes up to its trajectory..

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
Weird, I wonder if the article was pulled back for some reason. Obviously a huge deal. I hope it gets bought by a developer, and not by Case, but I have no idea who else would be willing to fork out that kind of money. I played with the search terms to see what else would come up. Here's what I found: The Cleveland Institute of Art will sell its East Boulevard site to the ... blog.cleveland.com/.../2013/.../the_cleveland_institute_of_art_1.html13 hours ago - The art institute, which is announcing the sale today, will use the proceeds to ... to ensure they could control its future together rather than compete against one ... By Steven Litt, The Plain Dealer The Plain Dealer ... on East Boulevard to the Cleveland Museum of Art and Case Western Reserve University for $9.2 million Very interesting. It's better than having one outbid the other and therefore potentially ending up with something that is detrimental to the losing institution.

Detroit: Transit News
Is there any vision for extending the rail line into Oakland county so that Ferndale and Royal Oak are better linked to downtown? Seems like that really help make this line relevant.

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
There was been rumblings about this for a couple of years. I don't know the details, but I 've heard enough where I feel this is happening sooner rather than later. Apartments. Tons of other things being proposed on the near west side. Some will happen, some won't. But with the market the way it is, I'd say that we'll see a lot of new small to mid-scale projects happening in the next couple of years. And everyone seems to be hiring Dimit..

It appears that it would be the second phase.

There is also going to be a Dimit-designed townhouse project on the vacant land in front of the W.65th rapid station at W.61st and Lorain. Smells like TOD spirit.

Cleveland: University Circle: Centric Development (formerly Intesa)
I would think that this would be out of the price range for most college students. Knowing the lifestyle that medical residents live and the hours that they work, I can see how a small apartment would be better scaled to their needs.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
No mention of 1010 Euclid. Anyone hear differently? I'm assuming that was part of the rfp.

Nashville's Gigantic New $623 Million Convention Center
have they torn down the "old" mall yet next to Opry Land? That thing didn't last 10 years--of course the flood didn't help.
