I was raised catholic but I no longer consider myself spiritual or religious. So, I'm not reacting to this on an emotional level. I personally agree with Starbucks' message here, but I don't agree with the procedure.
  2. How can our vacancies be so low if we're bleeding so many industrial jobs?

I don't see how that has any relevance to this discussion. The point is that Starbucks's message was an insult, not a compliment.
  4. Tremont is odd that way. It is very isolated from the rest of the city by highways and river valleys. West 14th is the thoroughfare, but most of the food/drink/art gallery action revolves around Professor. West 7th won't have that much traffic.
  5. ^I think its just Cleveland's way of trying to be more like Phoenix
  6. ^well said.
  7. if its on the sidewalk, then its the base for brick. Otherwise, I can't really picture it. Maybe they're trying to create the Euclid Beach feel?
  8. I'll chime in..You are correct with your characterization of Tremont. In regards to the rent, I'm not quite sure.

I'm too lazy to read the above posts, but have you looked into the Clifton area of Cleveland?

I think that its a pretty stupid move on Starbucks part. It will alienate more people than it will win over.
  11. Kuri is building a green townhome in little italy.
  12. ^I saw that as well. But I heard that Vega had moved out to Kirtland after his wife got spooked by all the shootings in DS last summer. I'm very curious as to what would go there.
  13. Over the past two years, the Cultural Garden Federation has been replacing some of the busts that have been stolen over the past few decades. They've been using a composite material that looks like bronze, but its worthless if you melt it down. Its also much cheaper to make. Check out the German garden for some examples of this.
  14. tbone, I feel very safe in Ohio City. The "south of Detroit" reference was made to the area south of Battery Park. I live one block south of Detroit in Ohio City and the area is quite safe. Now if I leave my wallet in the front seat over night and I park on the street, then I might be asking for some trouble.
  15. ^well, I'd love to see someone here do what Dan is doing in Detroit.
  16. ^DDR would be great. But DDR is corporate where Stark is private. Its a bit more complicated with the corporate structure.

Well if they are waiting for presales, they might have to wait awhile. Many other developers in the OC are building without presales. Buyers are going for something that they can see and touch.
  18. ^I thought that they both were holdouts. Maybe Stark has since bought them. I doubt he would choose to be a tenant in the building of a hold out landowner.
  19. they got that little building? i remember hearing that the owners wouldn't sell to Stark. So is he renting or did he buy it? If that is in fact the building, that raises some interesting questions.

If you average in the home opener (which was lost), then we should have a higher average. I also think that we averaged less than 17k for our three home games in Milwaukee. Overall, its the weather.

Good lord, I have never heard urbanists ever complain so much about that circle. I think its pretty cool and quite easy to manuever. You would think that you guys were talking about the E105/MLK circle.
  23. His offices aren't that big. I doubt it would require new construction.

Does anyone have a total price tag for this project?
