Support for the status quo? Support for changing the plan? What kind of support do you speak of?[

That's ok. You graduate in about three weeks. I wish I was. I'm part time.

I absolutely agree. Its as if architects have found a new toy that one guy did well and now we've got a bunch of copycats who incorporate them poorly.

Cleveland: Marketing the City
The font that they use for "Cleveland+" is pretty stale and very Cleveland Magazine-ish.

Russia Plans World's Longest Tunnel, a Link to Alaska
Is Haliburton involved in this at all? If so, the project is probably a go ;)

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
I agree, Fernando is sweet. Borowski does have 8 saves, but I almost have less faith in him than I did with Wickman. Also, I've never been a fan of Blake, Delucci or Michaels. I'm glad to see Garko getting a shot. Its too early to tell with Barfield and Marte.

Cincy-rise, Doesn't PG also own Murphy's Oil Soap? Murphy sold it back in the early 90s. He's donated over $50 million to my alma mater because of it (St Ignatius).

If BH and Eaton teamed up for single building, I'm sure that we could see something significant on Public Square. Still, I'd rather see this make Stark's idea possible.

Cincinnati: A city of contradictions (Espn)
Cincy looks for virtue amid the Bengals' vices By Pat Forde www.ESPN.com CINCINNATI -- There is no easy explanation for this place. Cincinnati is a cocktail of contradictions, a town too conflicted for easy labeling. Its outside doesn't readily match its inside, making this a real-life Wisteria Lane: What looks like quintessentially normal America seems to have a ragingly weird undercurrent sluicing through it. It is famously conservative and proudly prudish, yet it launched the porn career of Larry Flynt and once elected Jerry Springer as its mayor. (Springer later ran for governor, and part of his campaign was a TV ad wherein he admitted paying for a hooker -- with a check.) It counts among its most famous women residents both Harriet Beecher Stowe, who wrote "Uncle Tom's Cabin," and Marge Schott, who once referred to two African-American Cincinnati Reds as "my million-dollar n------." Ohio venture capital investment
^but still, we had a lot more than just $19million worth of VC in biotech alone last year. I'm pretty sure that Indianapolis did a lot better than is reported as well. Obviously, this data must be considering only a subset of VC.

I didn't like it when it first came out. I still don't love the design, but I do like it in context with the other three towers.

Cleveland Public Schools: News and Discussion
My grade school (a West Park catholic grade school) did that with a catholic school in Glenville when we were in 5th grade. Its really a great idea, especially if you do it with younger kids in Bay and inner city Cleveland. While I'm all for a metro school system, I'd rather keep make it all neighborhood-based with a good number of strong magnet schools. Nashville does this very well. My wife lived in suburban Nashville (metro gov.) and went to a great magnet school downtown. If they didn't have this school, her family would have moved to the next county. I hope that John Hay can become a strong magnet school for the city.

Yet another one moving to Cleveland! I need advice.
i don't think so. Speaking of Battery Park, I just drove by. They have the first floor of all the gateway townhomes up. Saw a couple taking pictures of each other in the doorway of a particular unit--must be theirs.

a wild guess here: Is #3 one of the stones in the facade of a building on Detroit between W.25th & W.26th?

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
of course we care, this is Urbanohio.com for gosh sakes! by the way, i don't see anything going on with the exterior ( I can see the facade from my office window). any word on when that will start?
-
Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway: Battery Park
Any word on what will go up next at Battery Park? I see that they've put down the foundation for the gateway townhomes. I'd assume that they'd build more than one type of unit to improve the available stock for potential buyers.

Moving to Cleveland- Working at Cle Clinic
I was thinking about the same thing this weekend. Once University Circle has a good supply of modern and stylish condo options in the proximity of retail/entertainment/arts and the Hospitals, these residents won't be looking all over Cleveland for housing. The Uptown development will sell very well, imho.

Cleveland: The Park Building
Sounds like the developer needs to speed things up a bit. He needs to secure those reservations before they become smitten with someother project.

Cleveland: The Park Building
That's great news. Thanks.

Moving to Cleveland- Working at Cle Clinic
www.progressiveurban.com is a great place to look for housing if you haven't already looked at it. I agree with what you say about Lakewood, there are a lot of Clevland projects that offer great tax abatement and reduce financing that make 300K units cost like 200k units. Without really understanding your tasts...you might want to take a look at Franklin Lofts, Clinton Courts and Battery Park. These neighborhoods are fairly safe and offer a lot in terms of dining and parks.
