Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
I really hope that the look of the plaza as well as the public art pieces will not look like what the images suggest. The piece in the PD had these torch-like entrance pieces with flames at the top. The RF site has some different, yet just as tacky, public art. I've never liked his work--to put it mildly. Still, this is a good project for the district. I sure hope that they're also raising money for an endowment to make sure they can afford general maintenance and utilities. I assume they would as that's pretty common practice now and Roller and CPT are pretty smart in how they go about doing things. I wonder how much use this building will get. Do they put on plays year-round?

Ohio High School Football: General News & Discussion
Make that triple overtime. That game was ridiculous. Hats off to Mentor from this Ignatius grad. They deserved that game 100%. Took a lot of ***** to go for 2. What an incredible game by both teams.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
What bothers me the most is the loud speaker from the drive-thru window. This would really bother me if I lived within a few homes of this thing. Per the zoning, it would have to be built up to the sidewalk.

Lyndhurst: Acacia Country Club
Metroparks has been studying and studying and studying the financial side of all this expansion for a long time now. They know what they'd be getting into and they won't get into it without a solid financial outlook. Notice how they are considered a "potential" grantee of the land. The same goes for the lakefront parks and the deferred maintenance issue and the state's involvement.

I used to dream of constructed a home on Fairview Ave--great views from the upper floors, a wooded hillside in your backyard and a great urban neighborhood.

This street vacation deals with a different housing development (and not-yet-announced) than the one provided in the link.

FYI that is no longer the plan. The favored plan may/probably be seen as an upgrade on the plan you mentioned.

Orange Blossom is very much open. I saw what you saw and was hoping that it is a precursor to a storefront renovation. Alaturka was bought out by a neighboring future tenant that wants to double the size of a new bar that currently is being built out.

Cleveland: Eaton Corporation News & Info
Well, maybe we can get a Cleveland-Dublin flight out of this :) Given that Cooper does 60% of its sales within the US, I would assume they have some employees in the US. Maybe they would shift some of their US offices/workers to NE Ohio.

Ohio Cities' Downtown Population
I don't either. I'm curious what people would say about Stonebridge--would you consider that part of downtown's population? Officially, I'm pretty sure that it belongs to Ohio City.

Not if you're a pedestrian... Hey BelievelandD1, don't you know everyone on this board is an expert at urban design??? ;-) Has Waverly Station started yet? It's been a few weeks since I went by. If they started building tomorrow, they'd be hard pressed to have someone moved in by Jan 1 2013. Anyone know if they have any presales yet? Waverly Station is going for a zoning variance on May 28th, so it is not surprising that construction hasn't occurred yet.

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
It is actually a pretty crazy and disturbing story. Let me just say that Pace's development had all the letters of intent that it needed and that Dunham Tavern, or someone associated with it, was able to secure at the last moment the RTA-owned facility thru a technicality (for lack of a better term).

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
The first bus kept on taking on more people at each stop and therefore it was slowed down as people filed in at each station. The other buses caught up because they didn't have to spend much time boarding passengers.

Cleveland: Retail News
Actually, DU has far exceed the owners' expectations. Financially, they are pretty well ahead of schedule and have had some difficulty keeping up with demand.

Cleveland: Downtown's resurgance to be discussed on NPR Tuesday, March 20 2012
I agree. If you know where to look, it's not hard to find a free spot. You'll probably have to walk 2+ blocks to get where you want to go, but it would be ridiculous to say that is too burdensome.

Cleveland sports talk radio
I think Goldhammer is refreshing. I like a lot. There is absolutely no Indians talk. I can't say that I like any of the 92 personalities. I'm also very very glad that Roda and Reghi have been banished to late night. I like 3 Deep. A nice change of pace.

There have a been a number of eco-cottages built over the past couple of years in this area. To put that more accurately, a number of small homes have been renovated into eco cottages. The original eco village townhomes were pretty frumpy looking imho. West Clinton should also get some attention. That street has seen so many renovations over the past 2-3 years. It is a gorgeous street with perhaps the best intact housing stock of any street on the near west side. Another home just got the ok at landmarks yesterday.
