I missed that one. Its hard to keep track of this. Is this mainly due to on-going negotiations? Why else would they be delaying this so often?

How do you clear a baseball stadium after a blizzard? Cleveland crew has its hands full Extra workers help in clearing foot of snow from Jacobs Field By David Briggs / MLB.com CLEVELAND -- Seven independent contractors. More than 150 extra temporary hands. And a grounds crew that shoveled, plowed and swept from 6 a.m. to well past dusk. By Monday's end, Jacobs Field was green once again after an improbable confluence of workers somehow managed to entirely clear more than a foot of snow from the park's surface. More at www.mlb.com

Any Cleveland Relocation Advice for an Akronite?
Now that's what I call urban! :-D One thing that I forgot to mention above is that most of the houses in the Edgewater area are duplexes, just for your friend's information. Most? Have you driven up W.103, 104, etc? The majority are single family homes.

Cleveland: Cuyahoga County Gov't properties disposition (non-Ameritrust)
I agree. The problem with the Litt argument is that this issue is painted as an architectural issue (of course, that's his job so I'm not faulting him). While the architectural aspect is very important, I feel that the economic issue is more so. We have a much much better chance of swaying both public and commissioner opinion if we emphasize the economic idiocy of this project rather than the very subjective architectural side. The architectural side almost comes off as snobbish.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
The fact that this was Toby Cosgrove's idea should speak volumes against the naysayers. I think that people are reacting against this because of "old" reasons.

Cleveland housing tax abatement
If your project has approval by the city, then it can still qualify for the !00% abatement even if it breaks ground after the legislation expires this summer. The abatement policy very well may remain the same, but that is uncertain.

Did I miss something? When did they stop the abatement program?? I thought that it expires this summer and that Council was discussing in what form they would continue it.

Any Cleveland Relocation Advice for an Akronite?
$150 won't buy you anything in Battery Park. I think that there are 1 bedroom loft units that cost around $175k. But then again, the tax abatement might bring down the monthly payment so that he could afford it. I'm assuming that all units in BP are going to have monthly fees.

its around 35 degrees with a light snow/rain. they really shouldn't play today.

Unless its new work, they stopped mid-project last summer. I really looked like they had just walked off the job midday.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I believe that Cooperstown got switched sometime last fall. Phantasy One is no longer going to happen. That's been dead since last summer. I did notice some work going on at the Bar One site on Superion near the Arcade. Maybe that one will finally open its doors soon.

LEED=green, environmentally-friendly buildings If you incorporate green elements in your project, you can apply for LEED certification. I am aware of LEED silver, gold and platiunum categories.

Cleveland: NCAA Women's Basketball
From the letters to the editor section of the PD today: "Clevelanders were excep tionally hospitable during the Women's Final Four. We decided at the last minute to come to your city. Everyone from the cab drivers to the hotel workers treated us with a great deal of respect and kindness. The city was impressive, with plenty of places to dine and plenty to do. We were especially impressed with Tower City. Hats off to the organizers for the weekend. The buses were a blessing and relieved a lot of stress for everyone, I am sure. We definitely will return to Cleveland to see the Indians play this summer. Thank you for a great four days." Karen Rose, Knoxville, Tenn

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
how about tie-dyed? Or make them like change color with the temperature. Strap, good point. We need some more color around here. God, I'm too ready for this thing to be done. I can't believe that we still have nearly two years to do. I won't know what to do once Euclid is open again. I'm hearing that the Clinic's portion is going to be something to see. Whether or not that's true.. But I saw a third traffic circle on some drawings.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
i think that the Statler will be greatly helped if and when the area of Euclid between E.9th and E.12 sees more residential units added on the north side and a well-designed county office building on the south side. Currently, that is the worst stretch of Euclid in downtown. However, I love how that building anchors the southern spine of residential along E.12. With Perk Plaza most likely slated for demo and rebirth as a dynamic little park and the Avenue District taking off, this can be a very nice residential portion of downtown. see http://www.parkworks.org/images/dgreen/Perk2large.jpg

This is not office space, but I thought it would be appropriate here: Statler Arms not as wide open anymore Posted by Henry J. Gomez April 06, 2007 10:34AM Categories: Breaking News, Economic development A flurry of leasing activity in March boosted occupancy at the Statler Arms, a 294-unit downtown Cleveland apartment building at 1127 Euclid Ave. Coral Co. of University Heights took over management of the complex last fall, when it was about 40 percent vacant, said Scott Phillips Jr., founder of Cleveland City Living, a civic booster group. After leasing more than 50 units last month, the Statler is now 81 percent occupied. Phillips said he encouraged Coral to hire a new leasing agent. New amenities include free wireless Internet, an on-site restaurant open two nights a week and a more pet-friendly policy.

Good points. I totally agree. Good thing that the Silver line doesn't pass through the new Avenue District project. The Avenue District district would sound really weird.
