Cleveland Design Competition
So I guess this then connects with what former Wimwar is saying with local developers paying attention to the ideas created from this and take advantage of the research. Who is Wimwar? :)

I'd like to thank the pedestrians for be the lead blockers today. As we were trying to go east on Prospect and cross Ontario, the crossing pedestrians stopped the Ontario traffic long enough so that we could cross. Thanks Pope!

There will be 13 townhomes that face onto Chester. There will be an access drive behind these townhomes. On the northernly side of the site, there will be a 19- unit loft building. From the designs that I saw, the townhomes will have a modern look to them.

Cleveland: Grays Green
Well obviously you're not going to be able to do that. It will be a place to stroll or even sit and have a picnic. The retaining walls make nice benches. Its also sort of like a little museum--there are a lot of interesting tombstones. My favorite is Chief Joc-O-Sot.

What, they couldn't find a suitable 30 sf location for their operations??

I don't think so. I do agree that some people have that notion, but the Erie St. cemetery is more of a park than anything else. No one's being buried there. People eat lunch there all the time. I also know of people who take their dogs there. I also think that the cemetery is small enough where you still feel like you're in the city and not completely in a cemetery. This takes away some of the spookiness feel, imho.

I think that the cemetery is a huge asset. Its a beautiful park with mature trees and interesting stone sculpture. With the walls and fencing, its also a great place to let your dog run free.

I'd rather have 4 10-story residential buildings than one 40-story tower.

I'd assume that the Salvation Army building would remain. Other than that, the rest of the block is nothing to write home about.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
No. That was meant to showcase small start ups. They weren't supposed to spend more than six months each in that space. The Hanna plan allows for more permanent leasing. This is a good thing and maybe it will help fill in some of the retail vacancies on Hanna's first floor.
