  1. That's great news! Great to see that Wolstein saw the value in merging the projects.

It amazes me how mild the first part of January was here in Cleveland! ;)
  3. yes, you did post it already.
  4. Good question. I'm pretty sure that you can take it over to Common Pleas, but is it an appeal as of right? I'm assuming that they'd need an injunction to stop the demo. I glanced throught civ pro rules, but its hard to pick out the rules for administrative courts.
  5. now that the appeal has been denied, any word on when demo would begin?

It would be very cool if they could establish a first floor retail/entertainment presence all along Centre Street as they build out their plan. I'd be great to see a lot of pedestrian traffic along that important gateway street. Add some good pedestrian lighting, street furniture, etc.

I don't know, but she was really, really upset! and yes I've read all about stonebridge... it's just exciting to see new things happening every day. She has a right to be angry. Those bland cinderblock boxes that block off views of the river are very, um, beautiful.

^well, it already has in a way. I assume you've read about Stonebridge's master plan. How can the lady complain about the cookie cutter designs when the architectural renderings haven't been released or finalized yet?
  9. ^are you sure. I read it the opposite way. In December, Wolstein applied for and was granted permission to start demo. These 13 land owners banded together, appealed that decision and lost the appeal yesterday.
  10. the best source of pictures would be Urban Ohio. On the front page, click on NE Ohio, then Cleveland, then Neighborhoods, then Ohio City.

the lake has begun to freeze..
  12. I really disagree on some of your coaster evaluations: examples: Mantis: that is one of the greatest coasters I've ever been on. Incredible Raptor: I like it, but I'm not crazy about it. One thing that really adds to Cedar Point's appeal is its location on the water. Its so cool to look out and see the islands when you're at the top of the coasters. Also, the transient marinas and beaches add to the cool factor.
  13. I rode my bike through Buffalo (Cleveland to NYC bike trip) and must have found the skid row route. The neighborhoods closest to downtown looked like Hough and downtown felt a little bigger than Akron. I did see a very interesting old glasshouse/botanical garden. Know anything about that? One other thing about Buffalo: its cool to see how Lake Erie has a definite current that feeds into the Niagara River. Near the mouth/source of the river, it looks like a lake but acts like a strong river.
  14. How the hell do you know that? You don't even live in Cleveland and you know when the local crappy news is on.
  15. I was thinking the same thing. As much as people lament the distance that Woodhaven is set back from Chester, I think it would be odd if the new townhomes are right up on the street with just a sidewalk between them. I'd be very interested to see the site plan. I wonder how well these will sell. They will be out there on sort of an island. Woodhaven and Beacon Place succeed because they back up to the Clinic. I don't see the same thing happening here. I'm very interested to see what the price points will be.
  16. Even though I am responding, I don't know how to respond to that one.
  17. Where is Great Adventure?
  18. i'm pretty certain that New England, San Diego and Baltimore all could have beaten the Bears.
  19. Another boring Super Bowl. I wish that the NFC could send a real team to play sometime soon.
  20. that's basically the point. but girls would be allowed as long as they don't ask irrelevant questions during the game. :drunk:
  21. ^it would be for Mister Good Day and me so that we could watch football, baseball and basketball and drink great lakes beers. that's all. our ladies are two of the NE Ohio's finest!
  22. I think that is the future plan. Nice front windows, but I wonder what the noise would be like at like. Maybe it can be my bachelor pad in the city (after some more $ appears in my bank account).
  23. in all fairness, MRN is not the developer for the building where the jazz club will go. I believe its the only property not owned by the Maron's on E4.
