  5. ^I had heard that downtown planners had envisioned a giant 'cigarette mart' that would have been attached to a new convention center. Now with this tax, forget about it.
  6. I could see if you're buying in bulk, it would be worth it. UO smokers, what are your purchasing habits?

Its a bad habit that I picked up from my years in Tennessee. My wife always would say: Let's go to Krogers. Let's get a Dairy Queen, etc.
  8. ^wow. I wonder what it looked like inside. Its not really that large of a house. I wonder when we'll hear about the West Side Community House. Haven't heard about that one in a while. Also, its good to hear that A Place for Us is moving forward.

Ah man, that really cuts down the field. I know that Hulk Hogan really inspired me as a kid, but I don't know how many inspiring future pro wrestlers are out there. Good luck.

You're preaching to the choir. We've been waiting with parched throats for this one.
  17. Here's an update: Rentals for the Painters Union Building will soon be on the market ($600-$800). They want to put some sort of wellness center on the first floor. They want to break ground this summer on the new construction portion of the project and finish in 2008. (how likely is the break ground date?? I don't know)
  18. Rainbows coming! The last time that I was in NYC, I remembered seeing these stores on just about every corner of New York.

Cleveland and Cincy are very similar in this regard. I remember hearing that the leaders of the Design District wanted to keep it quiet because they were afraid that Cincy would try to implement a similar idea first. (I haven't seen any rankings that put UC in the top 3. Where did you see that?)
  20. ARTS&LIFE: Menswear shopping scene alive downtown By Roxanne Washington Plain Dealer Reporter So our downtown department stores are lost to legend, and Tower City Center and the Galleria at Erieview are not what they used to be. Does that mean the words “Cleveland” and “retail haven” no longer belong in the same sentence? That’s just the skeptics talking. More at cleveland.com http://www.cleveland.com
  21. I've heard that the construction workers on site will have world class port-a-potties. I think that was mentioned in the last Avenue District email blast.
  22. I just realized that I can see the entire facade from my office window. Cool. This is the building at CSU that amazes me the most. C'mon, a 3 story brick wall that faces Euclid?? What were they thinking??
