I understand why people wouldn't want Michigan to play again. But, I do believe that they are the second best team in the country.

He didn't choke. Michigan was a much stronger team. His interceptions were very catchable balls that were tipped by the receivers and luckily fell into Wolverine hands. I don't see how the game was hilarious. If you think it was hilarious, its because you wanted to see Brady fail. That shows how biased you are. How do you expect us to take you seriously when you interpret the facts so that they support your pre-designed conclusions?

C-Dawg, You are hilariously biased! Brady Quinn will choke?? First you say that the helmet to helmet penalty was a bad call. Now you say that Quinn will choke. He's one of the coolest cats out there. Good god.

Wow, that looks bad. I agree that the concrete is a significant barrier, but the trees did so much for the street.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
I was able to go to UCI's annual meeting/lunch yesterday. Boy, Chris Ronayne has turned that place 100% around since starting last December. Here is the latest idea: University Circle exploring service assessment Fee could cover police, maintenance Tuesday, November 21, 2006 Tom Breckenridge Plain Dealer Reporter Faced with rapid growth, University Circle leaders will study new ways to fund safety and cleanup efforts in Cleveland's medical, cultural and educational mecca. University Circle Inc. announced at an annual meeting Monday that it will explore creating a special-improvement district, similar to one that uses bike and foot patrols to secure and clean downtown Cleveland. "Whether it makes sense for University Circle, that's what we want to look at in the next few months," said lawyer R. Thomas Stanton, head of the UCI board... more at: http://www.cleveland.com

I'm surprised that Lutheran/Clinic didn't buy the land. I believe that they own all the parking lots that surround this parcel.

That's the thing. Georgia hates Tennessee. But if TN makes it to the national championship, they love TN and hate the non-SEC team. Oh, it was so glorious living in TN when OSU won the national championship. What's funny is that I grew up a Notre Dame fan. Upon lowering myself to the south, I found myself rooting for OSU because of all the randomly-aimed negatively that the SEC fans spewed out towards anything Big Ten. Now I'm 50% ND, 50% OSU. And, I do have a soft spot in my heart for Michigan just because I'd find my self rooting for them when they'd play an SEC team in a bowl game. (Maybe I ought to forward this to my psychoanalyst in prep for my next session. :) )

Lincoln, I'm with you about the SEC. I lived in Memphis and Nashville for a few years. I never understood the strong regional rivalry that exists in the south. Upon moving to Nashville, I kind of cheered for UT because it was the local team. After watching the fans and listening to their hateful comments towards all things not SEC, I began to dislike all things SEC. By far, the most obnoxious fans I've ever come across. Thank God I'm back home.

Bar denied attempt to add dance club Thursday, November 16, 2006 By David Plata West Side Sun News A request by Envy, a controversial restaurant and bar on West 25th Street, to expand by adding a dance club has been denied. The city board of zoning appeals on Monday unanimously turned down the request after a fusillade of opposition from residents, business and community groups. In June, a patron of the establishment was shot and killed in a parking lot across the street after leaving the bar. "My fear is for the safety of my employees," Daniel Sedor, president of Voss Industries Inc., told the board. "It's well known there was a murder in our parking lot." Voss, a metal bindings manufacturer and defense contractor, employs about 260 people working three shifts. Patrons of Envy which has been operating as a dance club Friday and Saturday nights, but without a permit had been using the Voss parking lot across the street. Since the shooting, the lot has been chained off. Envy's variance request was to operate a dance club in a semi-industry district, and within 500 feet of a residential district. Erica McDaniel, representing Envy owners ZMDS Entertainment and Davor Stevanovic, told the board the business, which only has eight parking spots, also requested a variance to allow for parking at two off-lot sites. Joe Mazzola, director of Ohio City Near West Development Corp., the local nonprofit development group, presented the zoning board with a resolution against Envy. The OCNW board is expected to approve the resolution Dec. 6, he said. Opponents also said the residents' group Near West Neighbors in Action complained of residents being assaulted by Envy patrons, and of public urination and drug trafficking by patrons. McDaniel also dismissed comparisons to Club Moda, the notorious West 25th nightspot shut down earlier this year. She said Envy planned to hire three security officers and two off-duty police officers to ensure security. Councilman Joe Santiago, D-14, asked by the zoning board to comment on the variance request in his ward, gave a rambling talk repeating most of the points made during the hearing, then concluded, "I'm not here to oppose or support" the plan.
