Cleveland: Richman Bros. Site Re-Development
There's a lot more to this project than what the PD has printed. That's all I can say at this moment. :)

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Save the hyperbole. Of course I'm glad to see more development. And Math is right - that street needs new stuff, so it's especially good. I'm merely surprised, given the almost non-availability of good rental apartments around here, that so much is happening that doesn't involve that. That should not be taken as a criticism of any particular development. If ten more things get added to Ohio City (and they will), that's great. If none of them are apartments, that's a strange omission. People are the best anchor for a neighborhood. The sf cost of renovating existing buildings for apartments is such that the banks won't lend for those types of projects right now. Ohio City Inc is very actively looking for ways to spur further apartment projects and the City is interested in helping out. For many reasons, this is a fantastic project. For one, this building was a hard one to sell and sat on the market for a while. It is only located one block south of Detroit, so it's not like it is hidden away in the neighborhood. The old fire house across the street also recently sold and is filling up with young entrepreneurs and their businesses. There is a lot of opportunity for growth and vibrancy in this corner of OC and we're seeing some strong building blocks come into place. Give it time, but this node will be taking off in a couple of years.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
Along Columbus Road, just about all these buildings are occupied and active. It just doesn't look that way. Lolly the Trolly is in one. A welder/artist is in another. CMA has a building down there will some art stuff going on. etc etc.

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
No, you are not. Others can, because they haven't had a history of dragging some sort of beef with Jackson into every thread that they post on. That's what I thought. Just thought I should ask first. Thank you. Tedoph If someone is to blame Jackson for not keeping a 50-worker firm in Beachwood, shouldn't that someone greatly laud Jackson for helping a biotech company that will grow to 160 workers by next year to move into an important development within the City limits? Just thought I would ask. :)

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
They're working on it. It will take various sources of funding to get this project moving forward and the City has actively been working on it. I believe they already received some sort of brown field grant. My guess is that there's probably a couple more pieces that need to come together, but it's looking very good. I know that ClevelandHeartLab will be doubling their number of employees in the next year have stated that they need new space somewhere in the HealthTech corridor. Ah, but then again this building probably won't be ready for occupany in 12 months.

This won't necessarily compete with Sweet Moses because it is a different concept. The fact that their production facilities and HQ staff will be there make the ice cream sales less important.

Cleveland sports talk radio
I loved Reghi with the Cavs. I hate him on KNR. Munch bugs me, but I like him when he does Buckeye pregrames, etc. Roda is the "um" king of the world. He's painful and annoying. I'm hoping that the new sports station provides some good competition so that KNR has to improve its drive time slot. I actually really like Goldhammer. The station needed someone who is not a homer. I'd like him better if he didn't hate the Buckeyes once. I also have to give credit to Goldhammer for helping open listeners ears and eyes to urban living. The guy first lived downtown and would talk about how great it was to live there and how stupid everyone else was for living so far out in the burbs. (I cringe everything I hear Roda talking up Medina). Goldhammer now leaves in Tremont and talks about the near west side a lot.

Cleveland sports talk radio
I'm not able to listen much in the morning. What I can't stand is the old guarld at KNR. Roda and Reghi are the most painful people to listen to. I much prefer the younger talent on that station.

Fedor is my cousin. That's the way he is either on the air or off the air.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Considering that Minnesota, Boston, the Research Triangle and San Diego (and Cleveland) were also not mentioned, its obvious that this article is pointing out places that people wouldn't normally expect to be biotech players.

Canal Basin Park and Lake Link Trail
The Lake Link Trail is being actively worked on. The first segment of the trail would connect Stonebridge to Wendy Park via a new pedestrian bridge. The engineering and design work for the bridge is underway. Grants are being sought to build this first segment of the trail. Preliminary design work is complete. The trail would also serve to capture a lot of storm water, so the design is a little more complicated than an ordinary trail. The other segment of the trail cannot be worked on until the hillside at Irishtown Bend is fixed.

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
Isn't this going to make them more likely to keep it as a parking lot? If the Gateway garage is specifically for Valet parking (or even if it isn't only valet) it's going to be relatively expensive compared to other options including the parking lot you speak of. Therefore I fear they will get more parking business because the of the casino and have even less incentive to build. Hopefully I am wrong? It might encourage building a garage, which is far from ideal, but better than a surface lot. hey guys, the company that owns that lot wants to build a mixed-use development. They just can't do it because the financing isn't available. NOW BACK ON TOPIC!

Cleveland: Cuyahoga County Gov't properties disposition (non-Ameritrust)
I'm glad that Allegro is handling this. They are an excellent firm. By the way, they just moved in from the suburbs and renovated a two-story building on Euclid across from CSU for their offices. Can't believe that Staubach recommended to the County that they buy the Ameritrust tower. But then again, those were the Dimora days..

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
You don't consider 107.3 "alternative"? If 92.3 is alternative, then I'd say 107.3 is as well. I'm glad there'll be another sports radio station in town, but I wish that it would be replacing something like 95.5. I really hope that they have something better than Rhoda and Reghi. Those guys are painful to listen to.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
Cut your loses and sell to K&D. Or put out a new RFP. I would really like to see some other proposals from other developers. They have to put out a new RFP. They couldn't just sell it without an RFP process.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
It would be $17 million more than the county currently has.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
I was actually looking at an apartment at Reserve Square today, the West building is apartments, and the 14-23 of the East building is apartments. Wouldn't it be incredible to leave through that rotunda every morning were it the lobby? On the other hand, I've always thought the rotunda clashed a lot with the brutalist tower.... Rotunda vs. Tower; Neoclassical vs. Brutalist: Let them fight I say, we're lucky to have such contrasts rubbing shoulders.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
MGB has gotten off to a ridiculous start financially. Fortunately, the demand is not able to be met and the surrounding restaurants are seeing a great uptick in their business as MGB-hopeful customers find other lesser-known establishments in Ohio City. Sam McNulty recently said that his his two-year expansion plan quickly became a 2-month expansion plan as they had run out of beer and their brewery capacity was not able to keep up with business.

Cleveland: Perk Park Renovation
Yeah. I shouldn't have said 'redesign' because I wasn't really talking about the plans, but rather the actual redesign/construction. The shootings did at least appear to kick-start a long stalled project. It seemed to light a fire over there at 601 Lakeside. Hts121, Actually, you are incorrect about the shootings being the impetus for kickstarting the project. Things had been set in motion to get this project going before the shootings occurred. The shootings only served to delay the project because the police mandated that the area had to remain in its original physical state while the related court cases were ongoing.

That comment came from Charles Milsaps. He's a very odd man and reputed to be a pathological liar.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
^outside of b&n and drug store chain, this development will be chain free. I know the developer and I also know some people in the region who operate some chain franchises. They are complaining that MRN won't let them in to Uptown. Ha! All the better for CLE.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
Those are not the correct renderings. I know because my friend was one of the developers who proposed this version and they were not selected by CSU.
