Hey, they're working hard over there (seriously). There were a lot of staff changes (for the better) in April, May and June. The Marketing staff is completely different and working on the website changes. Be patient, they're fighting the good fight over there.

^I think that UCI is working to upgrade and improve their website.
  3. ^there's a lot of 'two guys watching one guy doing the work' all along the corridor. During my lunch, I make it 'three guys watching one guy..'
  4. Maybe it was moved to University Circle? I wouldn't think that there would be enough of a market near the Tower Press building to support a CityWheels car.

To me, Battery Park and the new art theater are the most promising thing about Detroit-Shoreway. There are some other nice things going on, but not so much that it would lead me to put them near the top of the list. -There are three townhome projects on Bridge. Bridge Court, I believe, is in Ohio City and sold all three of its units this summer. The other project (Bridge Square) is close to about W.60th and appears that none have sold. Courtland Court, which was supposed to start this summer, has not broken ground. -I've been reading about this next phase of EcoVillage for almost three years now. Is this really a project? -The 100 or so apartments above the storefronts near W.65th are nice, but aren't they subsidized? Aren't these just renovations and not new units on the market (besides Lou's)? -I believe that Battery Park is closer to 300 units than 400.
  6. Spartan got it. La Paz is such a cool city. Interesting facts about La Paz: -highest world capital -highest airport (runway is two miles long because lack of air friction requires more length for landings -population is about 2 million

From the Onion.. LeBron James Amazed At 21-Year-Old's Ability To Stay Up All Night Studying For Physics Exam September 14, 2006 | Onion Sports CLEVELAND—21-year-old LeBron James, who skipped college to make millions of dollars in the National Basketball Association, was amazed to find out that someone his very own age, Case Western Reserve University junior Michael Washington, had the ability to stay up all night studying for a physics exam, which he later aced. "This kid's natural study skills are unbelievable," said James, who learned later that Washington is the youngest person in his family to attend college. "What he can do in the academic arena at his age is something that I could only dream of." James was equally impressed with Washington's ability to live in his 12-foot-by-19-foot dorm room, saying that he couldn't even imagine living like that at this point in his life. PURE is sending out invitations to next week's announcement via their newsletter subscriber list.
  9. Shouldn't this be in the "What Columbus needs" thread? :)

Huh? It appears that the push did nothing to change his momentum or trajectory.

^Of course he does. He wants the lights out because according to some posters, he's afraid of his own shadow!
  12. I'm all for interesting architecture, but those things are ugly. Putting bright colors on a structure that appears as if its a phase two building at Crocker Park is not what University Circle needs.

    Citirama is happening.

Besides Battery Park and a few storefront renovations at W.65th, where is all the "booming" going on in Detroit Shoreway? I know that there are some townhomes for sale around 58th and Bridge, but those seem to have gone nowhere.
  15. Zaremba, Lindazzo.. maybe its his mother's maiden name. Here's a suggestion: Jacob's Folley
  16. This study is interesting and a very good thing. I wonder how much influence it will have. Considering the past year at UCI, I wonder how seriously people will take this. The study started back in the Terry Hamilton-Brown era (did a rising political career ever dissipate so quickly in Cleveland?), lived through the interim days and concluded with Ronayne. I fully trust Ronayne, but I also know that individual developers all have their own ideas.
  17. The Clinic used to get tons of business from wealthy Middle Easterners who'd fly to Cleveland for medical care. The crown prince/emperor of Kuwait spent two months at the Clinic last summer. After 9/11 and the ensuing crack down on middle eastern visas, the Clinic lost a lot of business. This move is meant to get that business back.
  18. They were really progressing yesterday. I've never seen that many workers on site and all of them were working!
  19. Congrats to Zaremba!!
  20. How about these (all the same city--one of my favorites):

DCA is really taking an active role in regards to downtown. I am not surprised that they would be making that request. By the way, Musky, are you talking about the Public Square initiative?
  22. I'm curious as to how the connector will affect access to the board/cement walk. I wouldn't want it to keep folks away from the water. It could potentially be quite frustrating.
  23. Drive behind the tower and take a look at the fenced-off area. That will give you a great idea of the park's location. Also, imagine the view from the eastern edge of the park if many of the trees are cut down or trimmed back.
  24. sure looks Italian. Is it Genoa?
