The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
I don't really think that TX was overrated. They stopped OSU's running attack. This game just shows how good OSU really is. The interesting thing will be to see how much the defense improves over the season. Last year, OSU's offense was much much better at the end of the season than they were at the beginning.

ACBJ: Browns #1 in fan loyalty, Bengals #20
Well, I'm 25 and I'm not a big football fan, but it seems like the Bengals team from last year and this year is way better than the Browns have ever been during my lifetime. Someone go do the 05 Bengals vs the 86 Browns on Madden. I'd say the Browns pull it out. Bernie Bernie,oh-oh, how you can throw!

Living Car Free
I just had a visitor in from Nashville this weekend. Its pretty amazing to see a person react to Cleveland after they have never been out of Nashville. My father-in-law used to run MTA's bus system. Boy is he every the pessimist about that thing. He said that it'd be better to buy every one cars instead of wasting money on sustaining that fleet.

I'm more of an ND fan, but I'm pretty excited about the Buckeyes.

Living Car Free
I would listen to Dave Ramsey a bit when I lived in Nashville. His advice seems more for those who don't have much self control with their spending. Also, driving the cars to the death often times leaves you with some huge repair bills in the last two years of the car's life. I am not surprised at all about Nashville's numbers. The city has three times the congestion of Cleveland with half the population. Also, it is never practical to walk to a bus stop due to the cul-de-sac world that Nashville is. There are a couple of neighborhoods that are close to transit, but they amount to one small sector of the city.

Its up to 24 lofts and a total of 30 presales.

If the Grog shop were to be replaced by another Winking Lizard, then I would see your point. This is at worst a lateral move for Coventry. IMO, it adds a store that improves the walkability of the neighborhood and reduces the need to get in a car and drive somewhere for your basic necessities.

Cleveland: Prospect Place, Joshua Hall, & Mueller Lofts
^I believe that that the Convention bureau is moving into the old Higbee space. Vulpster?

^its replacing that filthy Medic Drugstore. How is that an example of Coventry 'losing its edge'?

Cleveland: Prospect Place, Joshua Hall, & Mueller Lofts
^we've talked about this on another thread. Supposedly, the Marons have recently been cited for not complying with code. There needs to be a fence and some landscaping that separate the lot from the sidewalk.

Does Aldi's carry non-food products? Marc's isn't the classiest place around, but it sure is cheap and convenient. Its a good store to have in a neighborhood setting (especially one with loads of students and young professionals like Coventry).

hell yeah its worthy of a topic. Ohio hasn't received this much national press since the last election. Its a huge win for the buckeyes and 40 fires were set in Columbus!

Lakewood: Development and News
Interesting. I had heard in the past year that FCE had threatened to pull out. Now they are taking over the entire project. Good, maybe now Rysar can concentrate on builing those Clinton Courts across the street from my house. Forest City takes over all of Rockport Square project By Henry Gomez September 11, 2006 Forest City Enterprises Inc. (NYSE: FCE-A) has taken full ownership of Rockport Square, a $40 million Lakewood mixed-use residential/retail project it was developing with Rysar Properties. Bill Sanderson, vice president of joint ventures for Forest City Land Group, described the split as "amenable." He said Forest City and Rysar continue to work together elsewhere. Financial terms were not disclosed, but there will be some trade-offs on those other projects...

Cleveland: UH may consolidate 600 workers at Atrium building
The 271 corridor will take the biggest hit with this move. UH has a lot of workers in Mayfield and Pepper Pike that will be transferred to the OfficeMax location.

well that sure was a nice read.

Cleveland: UH may consolidate 600 workers at Atrium building
Sad. I heard that the UH bigwigs got scared when the Atrium article was leaked in Crains and that the Atrium might have won out had the story not been leaked.

Cleveland: Retail News
I was very happy to see the Marc's sign in the window yesterday on Coventry. Its great to put a local retailer in a spot that will do very well. Coventry needs that type of store.

ACBJ: Browns #1 in fan loyalty, Bengals #20
It was one of the two. I think it was 93. Besides Model moving the team, nothing has ever riled up the browns fans like when they released Kosar.

ACBJ: Browns #1 in fan loyalty, Bengals #20
1994--no explanation 1995--they announced that they were moving to Baltimore halfway thru the season. That definitely had an effect on the attendance figures. The new stadium opened in 1999. Capacity is listed at 73,000.

Did the Bengals sell out during the 90s?
