Calvin and Hobbes: Ohioans?
Watterson is from Chagrin and went to Kenyon College. He painted this huge mural of Calvin in his dorm room during his senior year. The school painted over it. Sure would have been cool if they had let it remain.

I heard tonight that the liquor store on W.25 is dead in the water. They may be working on it, but they are not going to get the permit.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I hope that this puts an end to the liquor store on 25th. Businessman Abboud jailed 11:50 a.m. Local businessman Elie Abboud is in jail today after a fed up federal judge revoked his bond. Abboud, 53, and his brother, Michel, owned eight area grocery stores and were convicted of bank fraud in what prosecutors called a check-kiting scheme. They were initially sentenced to eight years in prison. Elie Abboud has been free on bond for four years as the case was appealed, while his 50-year-old brother was imprisoned on unrelated state charges. The appellate court upheld the federal conviction ordered that they be re-sentenced. more at: http://www.cleveland.com

Cleveland Browns Discussion
But I don't think that the Browns would risk such a multi-million dollar investment by running Edwards out there before he's ready. Its too risky and it would be psychologically-catastrophic if BE were to re-injure his knee in camp. I think that the brain trust is too smart to run the risk.

Cleveland: Bob Stark Warehouse District Project
As in "Buddah Pesht", I believe Isn't that the entire point? Pesht is the new city and Buddah is the old. Stark would be building the new one. By the way, its spelled every which way according to google. The point is that we don't need to be reminded why things can't happen. Take the energy and figure out ways to make it happen. I haven't worked very long in the city planning circles of Cleveland, but I definitely see a dichotomy between those who spend a lot of energy figuring out reasons why things can't be done and those who spend a lot of energy figuring out ways that things can get done. Luckily, its the younger and more influential ones who are the latter.

I'm with Peabody on this one. WSM needs to maintain its parking or else it will lose a significant portion of its business. However, the land between the market and the flats should be better utilized. I wouldn't want a hulking parking garage to tower over the market, but the land's use has to maximized. TOD seems like a no-brainer. I need to look up and check out who all owns those lots. That is one large neighborhood waiting to happen. So what am I really saying??

They were talking about how he was making some pretty sharp cuts on the field. I cringe as well, but I'm sure that he wouldn't be doing that unless his knee felt good enough.- Chicago sends Rover back to Cleveland
Triv is by far the worst. The guy is an idiot. I cringe whenever he plays up the to the suburbs and bashes the city. My favorite radio was in Detroit. Great local talkshows and sportstalk. I would get satellite, but my 5 minute commute doesn't justify it.- Cleveland: Bob Stark Warehouse District Project
Isn't that stretching the analogy a bit? Many other cities have over-built their residential units in the past couple of years. Cleveland never experienced that bubble. I wouldn' throw Pesht in the trash can so prematurely.- Cleveland Browns Discussion
I would believe you if you had some legitimate source. Considering your strong choice of words, I guess that you must have a source. Otherwise, I'd have to go with the word of the doctor who gave him the ok.- Ohio Smoking Ban
Nice tactics. :drunk: Petitioners blowing smoke 4:09 p.m. The group pushing for a statewide public smoking ban says petitioners for a counter issue are misrepresenting themselves and the smoking ban proposal in order to collect signatures. Petition circulators for the pro-tobacco group are making deceptive statements that the anti-smoking issue would prohibit smoking in homes, according to representatives from SmokeFree Ohio and the American Cancer Society. Pro-tobacco canvassers are also accused of claiming they represent SmokeFree Ohio and the cancer society as they scramble for 323,000 signatures by Aug. 9 in order to reach the November ballot. The accusations are contained in a letter from a lawyer representing SmokeFree Ohio to parties on the other side. A spokesman for the pro-tobacco group that calls itself SmokeLess Ohio said the group has told circulators to represent the issues accurately.- cleveland: antiques district
