This was the most fun that we've had in a while. This will give the Cavs and the fan base a lot of momentum over the summer and into next season.
  2. Well, if they read it then we sure would like to know when they are going to break ground. It tends to lend a lot of legitimacy to a project. :)

^I thought that you were going to be in Tremont?
  8. I am a little surprised that the Juvi center will cost as much as the county hq. It will be interesting to watch it go up as I believe it will be located on a huge vacant parcel that is adjacent to the redline.

Nope. Nissan will be locating in Williamson county (which is one county south of Davidson--Nashville's county). Its sprawlopolis down there and it aint pretty.

^On that note, my wife's best friend is from Sweden. No trip to Cleveland for her is ever complete without stopping off at Target to load up on socks!

I don't remember the last time I've had this much fun with Cleveland sports. What a wild ride these playoffs have been!

Sure sounds like it will be a huge improvement for the area. I am glad to see two large apartment HUD-supported buildings will be improved in the cbd.

To help fund the land bank, I would put a TIF on all land-banked properties that are developed and sold/leased. This wouldn't fund the land bank, but it would help it grow once it is off the ground.
  15. I am glad that the surface lot at the NW corner of St. Clair and W.3rd is part of the development.
  16. ^because Michigan's layoffs have been worse than Ohio's, I believe.
  17. ^Closing? I was there on Saturday and it was open. With all the outdoor seating that will soon be coming on line, I can see how they would need less indoor space.
  18. Peabody, The beer cellar is open.
  19. We should build a dome over the schools! ;)
  20. I wish that I could have heard it. I have stayed away from this conversation because I feel that there are so many other variables that would make this project either a great idea or a stupid one.

I think that depends on the type of purchase that you are going to make. If he wants a coke, a consumer will be willing to spend an extra 25 cents and shop at the mom & pop. If he is going to buy groceries for the next two weeks, the consumer is more likely to drive a little bit for a cheaper store.
  22. Lebron publicly stated that he will sign the extension? When did that happen?

Again! The photographer was looking north, away from the CBD. This would be akin to someone photographing Ohio City from Lakewood, or following I-71 north from Mt. Adams. We can debate the quality of the photo, but the Columbus bashing just shows some people's defeatism around here. Magyar, You misread my post entirely. I commented on the picture, not the city. The picture is a poor representation of Columbus. That's all.
  24. ^no thanks. Lakewood cops are like flies to honey.
