I like Gehry's stuff a lot, but I don't want any more. Too much of a unique thing takes away from the effect.

Cleveland: Bob Stark Warehouse District Project
??????????? The only way that downtown retail will have any staying power is if there is a built-in market close by and there are residents to add street life to the area.

Suburban Cleveland: Progressive to add 1000 new jobs??
Progressive to create 'new' jobs By SHAWN A. TURNER The 1,000 jobs Progressive Corp. is planning to add as part of a $161 million expansion of its headquarters will be new positions, and not transfers from other locations, as neighboring town officials had feared, a state spokeswoman confirmed. There had been concern that the auto insurer would siphon jobs from other places, such as the 2,700 workers at Progressive sites in Highland Heights and Mayfield Heights, when the company earlier this month announced its expansion plans. But Progressive, which is in the process of applying for a 15-year, 75% job creation tax credit for the project, recently informed the state that all the jobs would be new, said Melissa Ament, a state public information officer. www.cleveland.com

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
^I think I misread your reaction. I am not that surprised by the lack of interest in the townhomes. I think that CH should have chosen a few homes that were closer to Lee Rd. North of Cedar, many people aren't as interested in the available housing stock.

According to Rubin, its all about rooftop decks that capture views of Lake Erie and downtown. (and he also mentioned the importance of cutting edge toliets!)

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
Some of those Heritage Lane conversions are incredible. They are absolutley beautiful. If they were not surrounded by so much blight, they would have sold out by now.

Cleveland: Dexter Place Townhouses
From the mouth of Peter Rubin...this project is dead. Also, the additional phases of the Ohio City Townhomes are dead. Big blow to Ohio City??? Nope. The Coral Company is going to build 30 townhomes on the land where the two previously mentioned projects were supposed to be built. Look for an announcement soon.

Northeast Ohio / Cleveland: General Transit Thread
While I much prefer rail to bus, I have difficulty justifying the cost of a rail line in the street when it would not provide much of an upgrade in service over a bus. Am I overlooking anything?

Ohioans head for exit
I read this article and then I read that almost all metro areas are experiencing similar trends (except for the suburban south). While I am not saying that we don't have a problem, I am a little sick of how the PD paints it as if this problem only pertains to Ohio and Cleveland. The PD needs to provide a proper perspective in its reporting.
