Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I can imagine Lebron leaving. I just can't imagine him creating a national stage (tomorrow night's one-hour special) where he rips out Cleveland's heart for all to see. Does he realize what he might be doing?

^ versus ^^
I love using the ^s. They are a subtle alternative to the quote option.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
That's not how it works. Applications were due long ago. The board comes in and approves what the staff has recommended. The foundations are very deliberate in the process. Whether PBL gave money or not, I bet it didn't influence either of the two foundations. Additionally, these foundations give a lot of "guidance" to their applicants.

Northeast Ohio: Regionalism News & Discussion
The same thing is happening in Nashville. It surprises me, but people area already moving out of the county due to the schools. If you move out of Davidson County, where do you go? Once you get outside Nashville, there isn't anything... For example, Brentwood is already so big now that they have 2 public high schools. Lots of cul-de-sacs and strip malls.

The same thing is happening in Nashville. It surprises me, but people area already moving out of the county due to the schools. If you move out of Davidson County, where do you go? Once you get outside Nashville, there isn't anything... Williamson County is where its at now. That's where all the money is going. It is quickly becoming very developed. Brentwood and Franklin are both in Williamson.

Cleveland: Downtown: Mall Development and News
I find this whole process to be a major step for the mayor. Bringing big powerful (business) minds together into one room has not been his style in the past. This is an exciting moment for Cleveland. This is the exact sort of thinking that was not present during our 90s building boom (gateway, RRHF, CBS). While those projects were in no means failures (well, CBS..), imagine if we had thought about how to create better linkages between those projects. Don't think that this is just about getting a better Mall built. This is just as much about linking the casino, FEB, Canal Basin, PS, NCH, etc.

Shoot, I was seriously hoping for some goal posts and an on-deck circle.

The best small park in Cleveland (imho) is the reading garden next to the library downtown. If OCNW is successful in getting its BID off of the ground, the new park would be well taken care of. 327, You need to understand funding sources better before you throw an entire thread off topic. Asking the mayor to divert capital budget monies to the school system is as possible as asking the governor of Indiana to divert money to CMSD.

2010 World Cup
I enjoy the World Cup, but US soccer largely disappears between WC events. Until it can have a more prevalent presence, it will be difficult to make substantial gains in popularity in this country.

Cleveland: Best Kept Secrets!
I agree about Hessler St. I don't agree about Hessler St's leadership. They are a very egotistical and selfish group.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
So now you're calling Mayor Jackson strong? He has brought these groups together. Actually, there is an 8:30am meeting tomorrow morning where these groups are gathering to begin serious discussions.

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
^I'm very interested in watching the change. My second and third floor look right onto Cargill's operations. I love watching the Manistee, the Cuyahoga and the McKee Son's, load up with salt and ship out to the various Great Lakes' ports on a daily basis.

Has anyone tried the Lake Erie Monster by Great Lakes? It is very strong and very delicious. It might be my new favorite GLBC beer.
