Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I saw a nice article about the Ohio City Home Tour in Friday's PD. Good to see the positive press. With the Ohio City Run & Crawl following in mid June, there are a lot of fun and interesting events bringing people into the neighborhood.

Flags, seals, etc.
Ohio City is a neighborhood of Cleveland that is adjacent to downtown. Ohio City used to be a separate municipality until sometime in the mid 1800s. It had its own flag. Many people who live in this neighborhood hang the flag out side their homes. (wish I could find a better picture)

Get rid of zoning? Euclid Ave v Peachtree (Atlanta)
You wanna know why Peachtree St in Atlanta has seen more development than Euclid Ave in Cleveland? Simply put, it has to do with the fruit reference. People like peaches. People don't like math classes. Next question please.

No, it is actually embedded into the concrete. Think Billie Jean video. --but just not as big.

^Perk Park will also have some thin rectangular light bars embedded in the concrete.

^I read the article. From all that I've heard, a combo skate park/bmx park is not a good idea. If you put both together, you end up with a park that is sub-par for both.

Cleveland: North Coast Harbor Developments
^I don't see Hooples crowd being a problem. Additionally, it is a little bit too removed from the skate park location to entice too many drunkards. I like the location as long as the rowing association's plans come to fruition. I could see the rowing association's project creating some nice spin off development in the immediate area. Additionally, the Lake Link trail will be on the other side of the river and will link the area to Wendy Park and the Tow Path.

Cleveland Trivia
Ding ding ding, we have a winner! The reservoir was located where the kentucky gardens currently sit. Surprisingly, this was the highest point on the near west side (therefore a good location to store water). It was said that you had a "fair view" of the City from adopt the reservoir. 'Fair' meaning 'really nice' back in those days.

Cleveland Trivia
I'm hoping to turn this thread into something akin to the world skyscaper thread where people post random questions about Cleveland. If you get the answer, then you have to come up with a random and difficult question of your own. I'll start off with a question: How did Fairview Park (the city park in Ohio City) get its name?

Cleveland newbie "dumb" questions
Bah. I certainly never had it growing up. I hate it. Yellow mustard all the way! Now, if we could just get Jones' chips in the grocery stores here, I'd be happy! And I thought you were a foodie. Bah, yellow mustard is the Yugo of condiments.
