Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I stopped by the Phoenix coffee shop on W.9th today and noticed their new hours. On Fridays and Saturdays, they'll be open till 3am. Great to see some non-alcoholic options that are open so late downtown.

Cleveland: The Residences at 668 Euclid Avenue
Could it be the google effect? What will come up more often--tremont lofts or gospel press lofts? I understand their choice, but I hate that we end up with some very generic names.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
This is from Wednesday--just after Wolstein got some money to do some remediation work. If there was some substantial news, I'd assume that Crains and the PD would have picked up on it and reported it. I'd think that this is just more posturing on Wolstein's part.

I must say that I just don't believe it. It would be nice to be incorrect.

Cleveland subway tours. Worth the drive?
The old streetcars descended below street level so that they could cross into downtown over the Cuyahoga on the lower level of the Detroit-Superior bridge. The "subway" is not very long, but there is one old subway station.

Cleveland subway tours. Worth the drive?
Ditto. i wouldn't make the drive just for the tour. There are some other cool things to do that would make it an overall fun day.

The owner of the Garage Bar was going to run a sushi restaurant (something like that) in the old CB space.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Well I hope not. I do think that it becomes difficult to maintain a mental edge when you have such a long lay off.

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
Very soon. I was told that they will be putting the flowers back in very soon (next week or so). They've been growing them from seed at a local nursery. You don't want to put them in too early or the frost can wipe out thousands of dollars worth of plants.

NBA: Playoffs News & Discussion
^They've been hurt since the last week of the regular season. They thought Hickson would return, but he keeps getting back spasms each time he tries to play. Wright got hurt during the last regular season game.

Michael Symon, Iron Chef
It would be great if he could extend his brand with GLBC as they extend their brand. But that's wishful thinking..

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Vanderbilt is a good hospital, but its not anything special. I guess that they are banking on the presence of HCA (largest operator of hospitals in the country) as the draw. Other than that, Nashville is nothing special medically. HCA is not about the medicine or cutting edge therapies, it is about operating run-of-the-mill hospitals and clinics around the country. Nashville is looking to build a new convention center downtown. This is where the 1.5 million sq ft number comes from in their proposal. They're proposing a similar medmart/convention facility tie-in like MMPI is envisioning for Cleveland. One problem with Nashville's proposal is the presence of Opryland. All the large conventions go to this isolated facility. If Nashville had built Opryland on the river where the Titans' stadium is located, then they'd have a much more vibrant downtown.

1:48 half marathon. Considering that I didn't train too well, I'm very happy with this time.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I really don't think that we are that bad. I'd put us around #20. We still have some good talent. I think that Romeo just wasn't cut out for the job and didn't manage the team well. Additionally, we play in a very difficult division and we had the NFL's most difficult schedule last year (by opponent's winning percentage). By comparison, we had one of the NFL's easiest schedules in 2007.

NBA: Playoffs News & Discussion
Back to the playoffs: I really doubt that Houston will take game 7 in LA. I just hope they put up a fight. I'm sick of these one-sided (non-Cavs) playoff games that go deep into the series. The Miami-Atlanta series was the worst, but Houston-LA is pretty bad as well.

NBA: Playoffs News & Discussion
The Houston/LA series is pretty boring--each team takes turns blowing out the other. I'm starting to think that Denver will be the western conference representative.

Favorite Music At The Moment?
Don't judge a book by its cover..Don't make your mind up too soon.. Things aren't necessarily..Always what they appear to be!! Don't judge a book by its cover..Don't make your mind up too soon... Never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never....Never judge a book by its cover! Next parent, 2nd verse! Thomas passed Terrence the Tractor plowing in the fields one day. He said, "my oh my, you do look funny. Where are your wheels, are your wheels, are your wheels? However do you move along? You really do look funny." "Don't be so rude!" said Terrence the Tractor. "I don't have wheels like you because my catepillar tracks are so much better. I can go anywhere anywhere anywhere, I don't need rails like you. One day I will prove it. Show you how I do it. Then you will understand." Chorus (as provided by M2S) Sure enough one winter's day when the snow lay deep and tall, Thomas got stuck he was in trouble. Who do you think came along came along and rescued him that day? The snow didn't matter, to Terrence the Tractor. Now Thomas understands..

Daugherty has been all sour grapes about the Lebron years. He has kept his distance from the organization ever since retiring. I'm not a fan of this guy.

Interesting. Maybe it draws a lot more contestants. I'm running in the half marathon and my wife is registered for the 10k. The course runs through Ohio City this year.

Probably because you can get a much better selection from the West Side Market. I see a lot of people walking over the bridge on saturday mornings to WSM.
