Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Not sure--but the credits are transferable. It would make sense either way for the current owner to get the credits. I've also think that there are some people who would like to get CMSD out of their building and convert it to a boutique hotel and condos. I have no idea if that's just an idea or something that people are actually looking into.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
I've heard that one is dead. But I heard that a certain young local developer has some plans for that building...

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
I don't really think with the Mall selection that Tower City would see enough new business to make a huge difference. After hearing so much from both sides of the argument, I became pretty indifferent to the site selection. There are definite potential benefits to the City with each location. To think that one site was SO much better than the other is short-sited. I do think that TC would have attracted more conventions, but the current location is somewhat better from an urban planning standpoint (what would we have done with that white elephant ??). I have become rather bored with the anti-Forest City bent and the conspiracy theorists on this board--in the end I'd much rather have a site that is best for the City. If that site would have benefitted FCE as well, then so be it.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
^if my info is correct, the "3 parcels" refers to the land where the non-descript office building on St. Clair is. This is the generic building to the immediate north of the Marriot Hotel. It might also include the Sportsman's Grille. MMPI wants to put the medical mart at that location. I don't know if they wanted to tear down that building and build anew or if they would just retrofit it. I'd guess that they'd rather build a new structure that conforms to their specific needs. I haven't heard anything about MMPI needing to use the land where the County currently has its offices recently, but that idea was thrown around awhile back.

nouvel's copenhagen concert hall
I'd liked the interior at first glance. The longer that I looked at it, the more it started to bore me.

he was my dentist as when I was a kid. He does a very good job, but i didn't care for his political opinions.

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
The increased traffic on the shoreway is due to the merging that occurs due to the lane closures. If you don't have merging, then flow should be fine. The plan maintains the same amount of lanes as currently exists. The reconfiguration will not produce traffic tie ups like you currently see.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
We have a very tough schedule ahead of us. The first half of our schedule has been chock full of the league's cupcakes. While we are a very very good team, we are bound to experience many more hiccups during the next few months.

Cleveland No. 15 among magazine's fittest cities
Obama needs to institute some sort of mental stimulus package that bans all these stupid and generally merit-less city ranking lists.

Ohio Cities CY 2008 Murder Stats
Cleveland had about 133 in 2007. We came in at about 100 in 2008.

Ohio City (not the parts you would expect to see)
There must be a job assistance on the first floor and apartments above. I'm positive that the sign said so. Unless its inaccuarate. That's possible. I know the upper stories are apts, and nice ones at that. Nope. It is all apartments. The building to the immediate west has Recovery Resources inside it. That might be what you are talking about. I've been inside the larger brick warehouse--there are no offices at all.

Career Networking / Job Posting Thread
^I'd assume that it is not great at the moment. No one is building anything in this country. I'm sure some of the architects on UO could paint you a more accurate picture.

90's "The Blunder Years"
Exactly. When I was in college, all the girls were wearing grunge. After college, I was out of the country for a few years. I came back and everyone was wearing tight black stuff and toting around cell phones.

Cleveland State University Vikings Athletics Discussion
I love it. They played it during the Browns-Eagles game last night. There wasn't many other sporting events last night, so it got a lot of attention. Go Vikings!

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
I'm guessing that most Cleveland UOans don't listen to the Wave or to 105.7. You're not a freak, you just have a different taste in music.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Too bad it is on a back to back night. Still, doesn't feel anything can stop these guys. This week's schedule is ridiculous: Tuesday in Cleveland, fly to Phil after the game. Wed in Phil, fly to CLE after the game. Thursday off. Friday in CLE, fly to ATL after the game. Sure wish they would have had the ATL game on Friday. Those boys are going to be tired. Glad to see the starters getting so much rest this season.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
If this project goes forward (as well as Circle 118), East 118th St will be a radically different street. Just two years ago, there wasn't much hope for 118. Considering that it is sort of an gateway area, this is real progress.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
I think it is much better than the Battery Park designs. Still, I think that it looks too choppy--it looks like a bunch of different shapes that have been put together without any logical sequencing.

Cleveland: Demolition Watch
^don't worry, I'm not trying to stir things up. I'm just trying to add to the body of evidence wherever possible (but hearsay is not valid evidence...). I have no problem if someone proves me wrong or calls me out. I have no emotional stake in the matter and probably won't post again regarding this house as I have nothing more to add.

Cleveland: Demolition Watch
I hate to see good brick get thrown into a dump.

Cleveland: Demolition Watch
There are two more demolitions on the Landmarks agenda this week. Both of them are on Franklin Blvd. I am familiar with one of the demos and I think it is a good thing (a developer wants to build his own house on the site). I'm not exactly sure about the other demo, but I'm guessing that it is a house that is in the backyard of an existing house.
-
Cleveland: Demolition Watch
Not that I want this house to be demoed, but I've heard some pretty bad things about this guy and how he's let this house go while he was very much in the position to keep it up. It is hearsay, but I did it hear it from a good source.
