Some tenants have started moving into the Franklin Lofts (old YMCA building). I don't know how many have sold and there is still a lot of work that needs to be done. Still, good to see new residents in the neighborhood.

^UCI has been working on a plan to renovate the building for a few years now. I don't know what the hold up is. They are not envisioning turning the place into luxury condos or anything like that like. They envision it as a place where grad students could live. Currently, it is not just a senior complex.

I'd really like to see this avoid the shoreway and go down Lake Ave (not the pretty part) and merge onto Detroit just south of Battery Park. This would be of great benefit to the near west side.
