^baseball only. It would be lined with dorms to creat the Varsity Village concept. I'm sure that you've already seen the renderings. They are a few years old.

Architrance, good first post. Welcome to UO. Fortunately for Cleveland, there are some good groups that are taking a look at how to improve the Flats and how to connect all the various existing and future projects. Check out http://www.buildingcleveland.org/

They said that CC made 130 pitches last night. I've been following his starts and he's routinely throwing over 110 pitches each time out. I remember the playoffs last year--some speculated that CC's poor performance was due to the fact that his arm was overworked during the season. CC is setting himself up very nicely for a huge contract next year.

It's been awhile since brothers Patrick and Daniel Conway made the rounds to area retailers in an old Chevy station wagon, amber bottles of their craft beer clanging like bells every time they hit a chuckhole in the road. In those days, their fledgling Great Lakes Brewing Co. bottled its beer by hand, a slow process that resulted in only 30 cases a day. More at cleveland.com http://www.cleveland.com

China: Developments and News
It will be interesting to see what an older city with a less authoritarian govt will do with the next Olympics (London). Beijing is growing like crazy, the govt can build whatever they want without hassle from the populace. London is huge, old and established. Will they have to build their olympic facilities out in the burbs? Is there existing infrastruce that will suffice?

^I agree. It is very interesting that Cimperman is the one who has to fight this fight and not Mr. Ward 14. Anyone know where the old Moda statues are located?? ;) The block club leader summed it up well. Once a liquor license is issued for this location, anything can happen. The influence of the Jay/Bridge block club is a great example for other neighborhoods of Cleveland to follow.

But this does have a "wow" factor. Wow, it is really bad.

Math, I must run by your home each morning. I agree, those townhomes up the hill are the worst. Ever take a look inside? They look like they were designed by someone who lives in a cul-de-sac.

^if our offensive coordinator had not have been so pass happy in that road loss to Cincinnati last year, maybe that would change some opinions of Anderson. With that wind, it was not the best idea to pass so much.

I'd say these are a far cry from the new case dorms. I think the Prospect bridge thing is horrible.

CSU is going to City Planning this week to seek approval for the new dorms. Take a look at the designs. Pretty boring and bland. The worst part, in my opinion, is the bridge/walkway/dorm that will go over the new E.24st extension between Euclid and Prospect. Take a look: http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/designreview/drcagenda/2008/081408/index.php CSU has hired some corporation out of Austin to build and manage these buildings. Is the corporation in charge of the design? If so, I guess that they don't care too much about good architecture.

I used to think that at times. But c'mon, it was his first year as a starter. QBs take time to develop.

The Sabathia trade? We really have no clue if that was a good trade. Looks like we have one of the best, if the not the best, minor league power hitters now in our system. Would we have resigned CC, everyone thinks that we would not have been able to do that. Sure does s**k to lose him, but let's be realistic. The Bartolo Colon trade was a fantastic trade for the Indians, but everyone hated it in 2002.

It is tough for me to figure out what is different in that picture. Has scaffolding been removed?

^They were great last year. In the offseason, they picked up another guy who will might beat out one of last year's starters. They also get back a previous starter who had been lost to an injury. This is the deepest the line has been in decades.

Columbus hosting the Olympics? Is it possible?
I completely agree. It is no knock on Cincy, but the effort is doomed to fail. Birmingham, AL is also trying to get the Olympics. Are they serious?

I am coming this weekend to look at apartments and really need help (Cleveland)
I just started with a dentist who has his office downtown in Playhouse Square. He's pretty good and has never suggested anything but cleaning and x-rays (a big departure from my past dental experience in other cities). He's not very talkative, but is a nice guy. PM me if you have any other questions or if you want his contact info.

I wonder how long it will take before Dubai puts forth a bid. That would be an interesting venue. I wonder if they could actually hold events outdoors with that heat. Ahh what am I thinking? The Dubai AC bubble will probably be in place by then ;)
