Nashville September 2016 -- low-rise infill & SoBro towers
I lived there a while back and visit about every 2 years. Because the city was so small before the 1960s, there is very little in the ways of pre-war housing neighborhoods. Not a very walkable city. The development is coming at a fast pace and density is increasing in the area between downtown and Vanderbilt. That said, it lacks character. Not much thought is given to streetscapes and sidewalks.

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
Anyone know about a hotel going in at 6975 Euclid Ave? The design review database shows the Krill Construction just submitted plans for this empty parcel. I know nothing else.

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
^Sounds as if you probably know more about the govt highway world than I do. But I do know that the ramp closing and the 25th/Main Ave changes were initially added on to the original shoreway project due to some sort of additional safety funding. Also, i believe the speed limit in the area of the ramp is being lowered and that reduces the "need" to remove the ramp.

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
^also, the items that they were proposing at the sept 2015 meeting have been scrapped due to some vocal (and very logical imho) neighborhood feedback.

Canal Basin Park and Lake Link Trail
With phase 2 of the lake link trail set to break ground within a month, this is huge news for this and other inter-related trail projects by Metroparks and LAND studio. Congrats to LAND, Metroparks and TPL on winning the highly competitive TIGER grant: http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2016/07/cleveland_metroparks_gets_near.html#incart_m-rpt-1

I've heard it won't be blank when it opens. Not sure what will be up there though.

Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
I'm all for density, but this sort of design sets a bad precedent for demo+new construction in Little Italy. I'd like to see the footprint configured so that the front unit has more street frontage. As is, you look into a big concrete parking lot/driveway. I'm very surprised that such a plan would make it this far.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
I think it is better to keep it as it. Painting it green would really make the entire building stand out within the context of the entire square. The light gray roof and mechanicals blend in fairly well from in the this picture.

re the furniture store: if the prospective tenant finalizes the lease, I think all will be very pleasantly surprised with this new retail use.

Cleveland City Council
Not to stick up for Dow, but does anyone else suspect Naymik goes on vendettas, possibly for personal reasons? Naymik is exposing some very negative and unexcusable things about Dow, but I'm almost beginning to feel sympathetic towards Dow given Naymik's repeated targeting. Not that I was impressed with Naymik to begin with, but it makes me take all of his articles now with an ever-growing grain of salt. I thought his article on Metroparks $500 expenditure on a consulting firm to be ridiculous.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
That's a big hit for a city like Lakewood. I usually love this sort of news, but this does more damage to an important inner ring suburb than it does to help downtown.

Cleveland City Council
I second this. I'd also add that he is very emotionally mature. He's a great choice.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
Depending on how far along SW is, I would assume that they'd still be playing different locations/developer-owners against each other in order to extract the best deal out of the preferred location (assuming they have a preferred location.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
This is always fun. I would hope that it is MM. That would mean that they'd be bringing a lot of workers from different suburban locations into downtown (though they obviously have a lot downtown). I assume SW has most of their local office staff already downtown. Regarding location--it just has to be the public square property. please o please.

Coming back to Cleveland - Detroit Shoreway, OC, Tremont - good for families?
Ohio City and and the non Battery Park portion of Detroit Shoreway has become very family friendly. Something happened around 2008 as a lot of families in the neighborhood who normally would have moved out of the City as their first child approached kindergarten decided to put down roots, have more kids, and stay. Examples of things that have proliferated due to the increase in young families: Ohio City Babysitting Coop, Near West Family Network, Near West Recreation League, Near West Intergenerational School, Campus International School, etc.

You're mixing up two different towers. Riverview is on 25th and adjacent to the Market District. Lakeview Tower is next to the Lakeview Estates--that one is just north of the Shoreway. Either way, I would not want to see Riverview go away for many reasons. The people who live there are part of the neighborhood.

Nope. It's moving forward. Demo should begin in the spring.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway: Battery Park
^I follow you. I say it is tacky. Marous is just trying to keep up with the joneses. Both Snavely and the large apt development between 58th and 65th will have swimming pools. 10 years ago, the people who will fill these places may have been just as likely to have chosen a place in Westlake.

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
A while ago in this thread, people had confused this site with another that Geis was supposedly pursuing. My response was referencing that. So is it possible that he'd also be partnering with PSF on this project? Sure, but I have no info that would confirm or deny that. Sounds like you may know more about this? You sure?
