  1. ^let me add that I believe that the view from upper Edgewater Park is better than the view from Pier W. But, seeing that portion of Lakewood is interesting. Actually, once you leave the park and walk west along Edgewater, there is an interesting loop street that provides another great view. It would be the first street on your right.
  2. ^yes. Go directly north on W.65th. When it dead-ends into the tracks, you'll see a very pretty tunnel that will take you into the park. The best views in the park are on the upper portion. This view will give you a great perspective on downtown.
  3. In Tremont, check out St. Theodosius on Starkweather. It is a beautiful onion-skinned dome church.
  4. The top two houses sit side by side on Edgewater between Lakewood Park and the Gold Coast. I don't recognize the large white house.
  5. Grand Lake is a nice little town. I've been there 3 or 4 times. My wife's aunt and uncle have operated the summer rep theater there for a while. David Hasselhoff got his start there. They're weren't really that proud of that fact.
  6. Ahh, I don't like the 5 million dollar cap. We need to be much more proactive with this. We need to adopt Virginia's model and not cap the credits.. This will be a boon for us in the end if we do so.
  7. Pete, Thanks for the rumor info. It would be great to hear that this project has its leases lined up soon.
  8. If I remember correctly, it is being torn down to be used as temporary parking while the new parking garage is built across the street on the Z lot. In a few years, they foresee building student residences on the entire surface lot.
  9. ^^I think it is the most easterly of the 4 buildings.
  10. First Energy had a small army out there today (Sunday) doing some utility work. From what I could see, it looks like they were removing power lines so that the last buildings along the river could be demolished.
  11. ^ I just saw that today. It is encouraging to see.
  12. Four Ohio teams in the top 11. DIII is very strong in Ohio.
  13. Are the CSO musicians full-time or do they have to supplement their salaries by taking other jobs? ---edit--- I see that they are full-time positions.
  14. The sketchiest part of Detroit begins around W.80th and continues to about West Blvd. Between West Blvd and W.112th, it is more of a no-man's land than any thing else. After W.112, Detroit appears to be preparing to become Lakewood.
  15. There is a large grad student population in this part of Cleveland. Some of these buildings see a lot of people leave at the end of May. Things will pick up come August when new med, law and other grad students start moving in.
  16. I've heard that RTA's asking price for facade-less building is way too high.
  17. ^My office is on the south side of Euclid. We have an even numbered address.

Really? Because my cousin went there and was in a fraternity.. Frats do exist, but are not as much of the culture of the school as in other schools. There is one sorority, no greek housing, etc.
  19. Great Lakes Brewery means a lot more than just great beer and a pretty place to drink. In many ways, it pioneered a comeback for Ohio City. Sure some people could point to Heck's and other establishments that have had success for decades, but GLBC has done so many things on so many levels: -redevelopment of Market Street -great beer with loyalists all over the midwest -helped mainstream the green movement in cleveland -anchored the redevelopment of W.25th and Lorain -invested in an area of Cleveland that many had left for dead
  20. Eaton is far from certain and that may not be a good thing for the city. Wolstein has his ducks in a row. It is nice to hear that a project is being fast-tracked (somewhat). I've also heard some promising things regarding design and open spaces. At least I can gather that some thought is being put into things.

Nope. My college shunned the greek culture (Kenyon).
  22. My first thought is that this is a short-sighted project. I wish that someone with big thoughts and big follow-through could get their hands on this property. Best case scenario: the owner fills up the ground floor with some decent tenants. Once Eli Mann and K&D develop their projects for Euclid, Jacobs puts up a tower on PS, and Stark puts some shovels in the ground--then I'd like to see something happen in the May Co. Building. Maybe a department store would go against the grain? Maybe some sort of mixed-use.. We have a gorgeous building on our hands and no real plans for it. Cadillac Ranch?--If it is still around in three years, I'll be surprised.
  23. ^the project is a go.
  24. It looks like they are storing a lot of the appliances that are being installed in the apartments above corner alley.
  25. http://www.cadillacranchcincinnati.com/ What a horrible, horrible place! Any website that has a diagonally-oriented "good friends" label is not a place that I want to visit.
