Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
^Design review is not comprehensive and is sometimes elusive. When you have a large building, some of the smaller details don't always get noticed. Then there are instances like the new townhomes across the street from my house. Design review approved a certain style of brick. Some guy who orders the materials for the developer punched in the wrong number for the brick order. The bricklayers didn't give a second thought to it and simply put up the brick that was dropped off by the supplier. I called landmarks and told them that the bricks that were being put up were not the bricks that were approved. A meeting ensued. The developer had to apply a stain to the bricks so that the color would match the approved design (the staining process is pretty cool and very effective, yet expensive).

Suburban Sprawl News & Discussion
Comparing the growth of the 200 years ago to current day sprawl is an apples to watermelons comparison.

oh, but that glass kills me. That stuff looks so suburban cheap to me. McMansions wouldn't even have those types of doors.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
I'd love to see the GCIC on Euclid to the east of the campus (or in front of the Cole Eye Center). I'd love to see this CSI thing just to the immediate east of E.55.

Living in Downtown Cleveland
not sure where to put this, so I'll give it its own thread. http://www.cleveland.com/printer/printer.ssf?/base/living-0/1208334642154400.xml&coll=2 Journey to the center Growing number of residents making the move downtown, with more housing units coming Thursday, April 17, 2008 Melissa Hebert and Brenda Junkin Plain Dealer Reporters Downtown Cleveland was magic when Jea nette and Ed Shemo were kids. For the over-40 crowd, it was where department stores made you dizzy with their wares and holiday window displays. It was where you'd go to see Mr. Jingeling. It was where Dad took Mom out to dinner for their anniversary. It was where the city came together to work, play and shop. Or maybe they went under. CDCs don't have guaranteed funding sources.

Historic Power Center District?? Sounds like a lot of areas within Phoenix will be competing for that moniker. The future-day arts-district.

Cleveland- Does the weather influence your location?
Well you came on one of the ugliest weekends (weather-wise). Since Sunday night, the we've had blue skies and the temperatures have been climbing into the low 70s. Thank god spring is here. Glad you had a good time. In what city is your apartment?

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
I hope that you are correct. Don't forget that K & D are the largest landlord in the region. They own a lot of suburban apartment complexes. Only a small portion of their portfolio has to do with condos. With the mortgage crisis, apartments are doing very well at the moment. I think that is what is allowing them to take on projects of this size.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
I wonder if they'll require presales before starting construction. I'm glad to hear that the prices are more moderate. I thought that we first heard 400k figures for the price points. 235 is not bad at all considering the tax abatement.
