  1. What are the presale numbers for the townhomes and the lofts?
  2. You are greatly oversimplifying the source of the problems. The economic problems of some cities are results of decades of bad decisions, market changes, unions, etc. To imply that the last mayor of city X is responsible for its problems is a very weak argument. I think that you are trying to manipulate the facts so that regionalism looks like a poor strategy.
  3. wait, WTF! I thought that they were only tearing down the newer portion.
  4. I believe that Heartland has been saying for years that they would be a player in College Town. They moved out some office tenants around 3-4 years ago and have done nothing with the building ever since. I don't think that anyone was counting on Heartland to do anything in the near future.
  5. Very true. You don't see that at Cleveland.com.
  6. ^I agree. I don't think that there are many retail businesses that would want that location with the lack of foot traffic currently on that stretch of Prospect. If some office tenants could fill up a few of those vacant storefronts, Prospect would have a better feel.

From the western border of Lakewood to the eastern border Westlake = 3.5 miles.
  8. ^On Euclid? If so, take a closer look. BlackFin will be going into that space. There are signs posted on the windows. I'm assuming that they will start work on that space once La Strada is finished (which looks to be getting pretty close).
  9. Ipsilon, Welcome to UO! Thanks for the link. Have you checked out the project page for the Flats East Bank? http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,1823.0.html
  10. The original plan was for the County to own its office space. That is what they said. I'm not sure if that was the real reason. I know that they also wanted to consolidate. If it takes having the County as an office tenant, then I'd say go for it. I just don't see that happening though.
  11. I'm guessing that the Ohio City project is being done by the same guys because the name of the LLC for the OC project is 11th St. Properties (or something like that).
  12. Nope, Keith Brown is the founder and president of PURE. I'm not sure if he is the guy involved. It might be Dave Sharkey.
  13. I might be wrong, but I think that Keith Brown or the other guy at PURE is one of the main principals. I think that the same group is looking at building 5 homes on W.45th St in Ohio (on contiguous, vacant parcels).
  14. I have never heard of these guys.
  15. I'm pretty sure that they are on some land that goes down towards Clark Fields. I believe that the garage issue is due to the constraints of the parcel sizes.

^is the Signature Tower project dead? Was it that really large tower that was proposed maybe two years ago? JMeck, I share your lack of like for Nashville. I spent two years there before leaving for Memphis before coming home to CLE.
  17. And now you're pretty good at shooting something else:

Boo! I went to law school at U of Memphis. They threw that game away at the end.
  19. ^is it the office tenant duck or just the architecture duck?
  20. I heard about two years ago that the gas station owner refused to sell his property to the Clinic. I'd bet that if the Clinic wants the fire station land, then they'll have no trouble acquiring it. I hope UCI is successful in purchasing the police station. They'd probably acquire it for housing. I'm pretty sure that they have long terms housing plans for that area.
  21. ^did the birdie give you any hints as to if they are close to getting any office tenants?
  22. This still isn't a done deal, correct? Doesn't K&D have a period of time during which they need to to secure financing?

Nashville's art museum is in a house. You can see paintings in the three or four upstairs bedrooms and in the dining room downstairs. And that counts just as much as Cleveland's art museum. I can see how they would include artsy theaters in their rankings, but it is inappropriate to include 24-screen cinemas when considering how artsy a place is.

Hmm... if you have a lot of Blockbusters in your city then you have a thriving arts scene. Barber schools? Nashville had to have made it solely on its country music scene. Outside of country music, it is very very vanilla city in regards to the arts.
